### 4/5 — So close to a 5

*2020-05-26, version 1.0.15*

I feel like if you combine the mechanics of the free one with this one you’d have a great game. Let this one have the leveling up and better chance of chests. Leave the respawn for the free version. Let this one have the explore mechanic to find more ammo, make it more rogue like!

### 4/5 — So Far Pretty Fun and Cool

*2018-05-21, version 1.0.15*

After reading all the mixed reviews, I was afraid I wasn't going to fully enjoy this game. But so far, I'm loving it; the music is so good, the aesthetic and art of the weapons and sounds - pretty cool.

This would help, there should be an indicator as to when your weapon's ammunition is at max, that way people won't waste ammo pick ups while not knowing they are at max already.

Good game so far - keep up the improvements!

Omg the music is sooo gooood!!
😀

### 4/5 — Nice Mashup

*2017-06-03, version 1.0.15*

Although this game is described to be a rogue-like, I was disappointed that many of the elements like permadeath, steep difficulty increase, traps, and unique items do not appear. I enjoyed the awesome music, pixel art, and thematic mashups from other games. At the moment this is more like a strategic clicker than a rogue-like game.

### 2/5 — Dull and repetitive

*2016-08-24, version 1.0.14*

Couldn't really get much into this. Every level, that I played, was similar and the gameplay is too simplistic.
I could tell the levels would start changing later but it's not progressive as it should be.

### 2/5 — Nothing is clear, everything is random

*2016-08-02, version 1.0.14*

So you start this game with nothing explained, it doesn't get clearer, and I still have very little idea how anything works. The dungeons and rewards are completely random, so sometimes a breeze and sometimes impossible. There's one guy with an axe that hits all monsters and doesn't need amo. Never saw a reason to bring anyone else. Feels like something thrown together in a couple days. Whatever.

### 4/5 — Good, But Eh?

*2016-08-01, version 1.0.14*

Addictive and fun overall! There ARE strategies to playing the game, although you might not think so starting out. The game is super simple.

The ship you send out to find supplies is 100% useless, however. I find double the supplies that thing finds in one level. Especially because my axe, which has unlimited ammo/use does more damage than any weapon I have, making there no need for ammo.

It would be cool to see a partner system where you could bring up to 2 squad members into a dungeon. You could switch them out during battle and such. It would be OP, though.

### 4/5 — READ

*2016-07-30, version 1.0.14*

Really awesome game that I think a lot of people will enjoy the only problem it needs is that it can be repetitive and it NEEDS to give the players some motivation and goals to keep playing because it can get old but hopefully future updates can develop the game and grasp it's true potential

### 2/5 — Meh

*2016-07-30, version 1.0.14*

Not much there

### 4/5 — Good except a bug or two.

*2016-07-30, version 1.0.14*

Specifically a health upgrade bug. The last upgrade deducts the health value instead of raising it, making endgame much more difficult. Good game overall.

### 4/5 — Great game

*2016-07-28, version 1.0.14*

Great game to burn time with, but the quest that tells you to upgrade ship when ur ship is Away is annoyed

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Still broken as of iOS16

*2023-02-07, version 1.0.15*

Even though multiple reviews have mentioned the game is broken (and has been since iOS14), the Devs have made no effort to fix. Particularly annoying because the FTP version works fine.

And there is no point in the generic “please send us more information.” Read the comments, or here’s a better idea, load the game on ANY iOS device that is post iOS 15 and play for 5 minutes.

Good game back when it worked, trash developer.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy until fixed

*2022-02-22, version 1.0.15*

I thought this would be better than the free version but it’s worse it almost unplayable. I have an iPhone 13 and it is not smoothe at all really dissatisfied because I loved the free version I have emailed their support I hope I can get this resolved.

### 1/5 — Good game, broken and abandoned by dev

*2021-07-22, version 1.0.15*

This was a great game. It barely works on iOS 14, with janky performance and constant crashing. Also, it hasn’t had an update in years to bring it into parity with the free version (with IAP). Handygames is usually good, but abandoning the premium version of a game to focus on the FTP version is a terrible way to treat those of us that paid up front, and the developers should be ashamed.

### 1/5 — Monotonous and Pointless

*2017-02-10, version 1.0.14*

This game has the player grinding through completely random levels for no obvious reason. If you lose, just try again. If you win, you get almost nothing.

The team/squad members are generic. They have nothing truly unique or interesting, and you only get one per level. Instead of a growing squad to meet escalating challenges, you take a single character with crappy weapons into a stage that will either be impossible to clear or will essentially clear itself.

There are no real stakes to this game. The weapons are boring. The characters have no truly unique traits. The upgrades do not scale.

Skip this one. Save your money for a better, more enjoyable game.

### 1/5 — Broken for the iPad Air 2

*2016-10-23, version 1.0.14*

When first loading the game, it asks you to drag a crate to a box to open it. On my device, I'm unable to drag the crate to the box. Seems like half of the crate is cutoff graphics-wise like the window displaying it isn't big enough.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem anyway to bypass this step and resume with the game. As it stands, I've wasted $3 on this game the way it is currently.

I recommend avoiding this game, if you have the same device, until there's a fix. I'll adjust my rating of this game should I actually get to play it in the future.

### 1/5 — Boring, sludge-paced grind

*2016-08-03, version 1.0.14*

No strategy involved. Tap to use weapon, switch weapon when ammo is low. After 20 stages of just playing mindlessly and winning, i had to put this down and walk away.

### 1/5 — UDONTSAYSAT

*2016-07-30, version 1.0.14*

Awesome game I started playing it about 4 min after coming out of a coma n really liked it

### 1/5 — Can't even download it

*2016-07-28, version 1.0.14*

The progress bar reached 1/6, and then never moved even a bit, no matter how many times I tried it. I have an ipad mini 2, 9.3.2. Don't waste your money on something you can't even download.

### 2/5 — Constantly out of ammo.....

*2019-03-26, version 1.0.15*

The android version of the game lets you buy crates; this one does not.
There’s not enough ammo dropped to enjoy this game; I can’t even finish level 2 because I have NO AMMO by the end of 4-5 enemies killed. Absolutely frustrating as heck.

This game needs to have the ability to watch videos to unlock more crates, or give you better chance at dropping ammo. So much is unexplained; so many health items drop but seem to do nothing at all. Spiders constantly poison you without being able to clear it. Nothing explains how to do anything.

This game would be better if you could have more ammo. Honestly; Maybe even worth 5 stars then.

### 2/5 — No substance

*2016-09-02, version 1.0.14*

There's just nothing to this game. Nice graphics, the appearance of a game, but there's no core mechanic, no challenge, nothing interesting here. Just click click click till enemies die, change weapons with slightly higher numbers, etc. Glad I got it on sale, waste of a buck anyway.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Freezes on iPhone 11 Pro

*2020-09-10, version 1.0.15*

Freezes after 1-3 plays on an iPhone 11 Pro, and has to be manually killed.

### 5/5 — So cool!

*2020-01-04, version 1.0.15*

I’m having trouble with this one I feel like it’s slow at times on my phone idk if it’s because I have the new iPhone 11 or is it the game? Other then that I love the game soo cool cool graphics cool music. You guys should make another Dead shell I play both already

### 5/5 — Addictive perfectly balanced rpg

*2017-02-25, version 1.0.14*

Finally a simple rpg that doesn't overwhelm you with overly done crafting mechanics and just focuses on easy to pick up hard to master strategy/inventory managing fun combat. Art and sound is fun and perfect for this game.

### 5/5 — Gets boring after 70 levels

*2016-08-21, version 1.0.14*

The cost to upgrade gets to a point where getting thru levels WILL get harder because... you cant afford to upgrade!
So it feels even more grindy, and it just gets boring because you can't upgrade and its the same thing over and over and over again.

### 5/5 — Really fun

*2016-08-01, version 1.0.14*

Great game to pick up and play throughout the day in short sessions

### 5/5 — Great game but...

*2016-07-30, version 1.0.14*

It needs a few tweaks. So far I'm hooked on the game but I've noticed a few things that seem problematic. First off the mercenaries, Sniper and Assault Trooper are lacking in their abilities. They use "Armor-Piercing Rounds" and yet enemies still resist the damage making their usefulness minimal. I've also had a problem where an enemy or an item will spawn on the exit point which makes it impossible to leave and I'm forced to quit and reopen the game. Besides these two things, I really enjoy playing this game hours on end.

### 5/5 — Best one-touch dungeon crawl in a while

*2016-07-29, version 1.0.14*

You're dropped into gameplay with very little instruction, but through trial and error you end up discovering the richness and depth of this extremely well-designed casual crawler.

Recommended.

### 5/5 — Very Fun, but tricky

*2016-07-28, version 1.0.14*

This game is a fairly fast-paced game. The tutorial is quick and let's you get right into the game. The music is reminiscent of an 80s sci-fi action movie, and some of the graphics definitely put me in mind of the original DOOM. The only gripe I have is the enemies are spawned via a sort of slot machine system, which is cool because you never know which enemies you'll be facing, but it also can make a level nearly Impossibly hard, or boringly easy, but there is LOTS of in between that make this game fun and engaging, without being tedious. Overall it's a fun, enjoyable game.
On another note, this game contains NO gimmicks, like micro transactions, or an energy bar that refills over time, so you can pretty much play as much, and as long as you want without filling out more dough, which, in my opinion, is an AWESOME thing, since this is starting to frighteningly become the norm of some app games.

### 5/5 — Zombie roguelike!

*2016-07-28, version 1.0.14*

I love killing zombies.
I love roguelikes.
I freakin love this game!
I can kill zombies with one hand and eat pizza with the other!
This game was made just for me.

### 5/5 — Not too bad

*2016-07-28, version 1.0.14*

Actually pretty fun. Always seem to run out of bullets though. Maybe I'm just not lucky in finding them
