The story of Death Palette took my breath away, and I can only hope for more from the dev, Matsuro. After finishing the game, I can factually say that although the game is a short one, I implore all to explore and fall in love with this game, as I have many times before. Yes, there are ads, but they only sometimes play after you die. And oh my god, it’s amazing. For starts, the artstyle and visuals are stunning. The usage of color and symbolism is top tier. But the story is as incredibly vivid as the painting herself, with twists and turns and a bittersweet realization at the end. The puzzles are interesting, but the story and art are what make it beautiful. The ending is just heartbreaking, but also puts your broken heart back together. The story is very tight — scarcely any information is wasted — and all plot points are filled in. I simply never got around to do it. I recently had the urge to play this game again and let me tell you, this is a wonderful game! I’m a little older now so I understood the hints a litter better and the overall story was something I’ve never seen before. I grew attached to the girl in the painting. I nearly cried at the ending. This game actually was what inspired me to want to draw and paint ironically. The music is great and the gameplay is really smooth as well. I really recommend this game.
