### 2/5 — Been using this app for years

*2024-06-03, version 5.1*

This app was fantastic because it’s so basic I love it but I went to add a new debt and now it won’t open. Super sad.

### 3/5 — Missing feature?

*2024-05-05, version 5.1*

This seems pretty basic, which I like. However, is there no way to make a payment in between due dates? For example…I have an extra $150 that I want to apply to car payment separate from regular payment. How do you do that?

### 4/5 — Beginning date

*2024-01-14, version 5.1*

I would rate five stars if it had an option for a loan beginning date. Please add this option.
Other than that I’m happy with it.

### 3/5 — One major problem

*2023-09-02, version 5.1*

I’m transferring data from a different app manually in this app starts posting from the next month so you would have to turn your phone calendar back a month

### 3/5 — Snowball not working correctly

*2023-02-18, version 5.1*

I input all my info and have a pay off 4/2035. When i turn the snowball on it shows my debt free this year not sure where it is getting the figures.

### 4/5 — Almost there

*2022-11-02, version 5.1*

This is a good debt payoff app with one major flaw. It assumes that people don’t have an instance where they add new debt. I say this because when you do add NEW debt, it defaults the start date to when you initially set up the app.

For example, I’ve been using this app for a while to get free and clear of all debt however, my car died so I had to purchase a new car. When I add the new car to the app it makes the start date for payments the same date that I started using the app. That does not allow me to correctly track my debts.

I would purchase if this were fixed.

### 3/5 — Error!

*2021-10-14, version 5.1*

You are using “princiPLE” when referring to a sum of money. WRONG! It should be “princiPAL”!

### 3/5 — Repayment Frequency Option Needed

*2021-07-16, version 5.1*

I love the design of the app but unfortunately I don’t pay my debts off monthly. I pay fortnightly as that is when I get paid and to pay more frequently as soon as you can reduced interest as interest is calculated daily.

I would love to see different repayment options incorporated into the app and would happily pay for this feature.

### 4/5 — Pretty nice - but couple of suggestions

*2021-02-02, version 5.1*

I like what has been done some far but would suggest the following adds in future versions ... 1. Most importantly - have to be able to enter what a person can afford on a month basis. I am on fixed income and the apps shows paying just one debt over my monthly income. You have be able to cap what your spending on the payoffs overall per month 2. It would be nice see a report for each month what the payouts are without having to go through each debt to check .. tedious and time consuming right now. Other than that .. i really like the app .. simple and easy to setup

### 4/5 — Great App

*2020-12-01, version 5.1*

This app is a great, easy way to see my payments slowly going down! The only thing I would add to this app is the ability to put in bi-weekly payments, and the ability to have added principal automatically be able to go onto each payment, not manually having to add it. Still a great app!

### 4/5 — Not bad at all

*2020-08-12, version 5.1*

Only difference is on main page showing total payments are made a month

### 2/5 — Code

*2020-07-14, version 5.1*

Was a great app until I opened it and it will not accept my passcode. I know it so accurate but won’t take it and no way to reset.

### 4/5 — Works well, but one issue for me

*2020-05-17, version 5.1*

I really do love this app and feel that for the price of free, I can’t complain much. It does help me to see how I can pay off debt faster and I do like to see the breakdown of what my balances will be with the snowball method. The only issue I have is that it doesn’t keep up with time. I started using this back in March and the balances don’t keep up even though I mark how much my payments are and interest. So even though we are a few months down the road my balances still look the same. So I have to readjust the payments and basically start over each month. Not a big inconvenience but still could be improved.

### 4/5 — Works great but can improve a lot

*2020-04-24, version 5.1*

I love plugging debt in and seeing my best course of action. It’s great if you only want to snowball bills or have a set payment for all your bills. However it could use a few minor tweaks that would improve it a lot.
(1) There is not a way to just pay extra principle towards debt without snowballing the minimum payments from paid off debt. You can do it one bill at a time but that is only functional for the top priority bill. Choosing which bills you want to snowball into or from rather all or none would make a huge difference.
(2) I also wish the balances of debts kept up with time. Every time Inwant to add a debt or rethink my plan I have to change all the balances.
It still receives 4*s for ease of use, simplicity, and the benefits it does offer. I bought the ad-free version as a tip to the creator. I do not notice many ads with the free version. I would have donated more if allowed.

### 3/5 — Ok but

*2020-03-31, version 5.1*

It’s simple enough to use but today the 30th of March, I put in a debt with a due date of the 21st and it put the 21 of March and I’ve already made the payment for March! Why does it do that? It should be obvious that the next payment is for the 21st off April, right?

### 2/5 — Can’t edit

*2020-02-20, version 5.1*

Can’t edit your debt if you continue to charge. Also can’t change your monthly minimum payment as they change each month so it’s not helpful I have to delete the whole debt and renter it with the new amount owed and that months minimum payment so I know how much to pay the others.

### 2/5 — Need real time data

*2020-02-05, version 5.1*

The app is nice as far as creating a plan for you to help pay off debt but it would be nice to see your actual progress/remaining balance. When you try to edit the balance it changes the entire plan and throws off the monthly payments. I don’t want to login and see my original start off debt: it’s depressing lol. But it’s simple and easy to use!!

### 3/5 — Well, not as good as I thought ...

*2020-01-25, version 5.1*

I really started to like this app, but I’m on income based student loan payments and this app says my monthly payment is too low that it needs to be at least a certain amount that is almost $100 higher than my payment I’m trying to put in. I can’t even afford the payment I have, thanks for making me feel worse when I’m trying to get on track with my bills. 😡

### 3/5 — I wanna love this

*2020-01-01, version 5.1*

I wanna love this app. I’ve downloaded and tried so many free apps and by far this is the best...EXCEPT the dates. Why is everything dated for March 2019 and on? No matter when I input the debt. That makes it not accurate. PLEASE FIX!!!

### 3/5 — DebtPayoffApp

*2019-11-07, version 5.1*

App works as described. Only problem I have is no iCloud sync. That is a most important feature when dealing with data.

### 4/5 — Perfect EXCEPT

*2019-10-19, version 5.1*

Although this is far easier than creating the spreadsheet to do the math, it is far less flexible. Like another user commented, a date flexibility option would be helpful. For example, I have a Payne t due on the 15th, but apply an additional 2k on the first, it will only let me add it to the 15th payment which makes a big difference in keeping my numbers right.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Latest update stinks

*2023-06-27, version 5.1*

Used to love the tool but the most recent update has stripped a ton of functionality I have come to love about the tool. Especially being able to see quickly total interest in the calculator but now you throw the amortization schedule with no summary.
Time to look for another tool.

### 1/5 — Can’t fix date issue?

*2020-07-21, version 5.1*

This program would be great, but no matter what happens it lists my debts starting in the year I first opened the program... meaning if I try to add a new debt today with a balance of 1000.00 it will say it’s already paid off because it assumes I took on the debt in 2019 and have been paying on it for over a year. DUMB

### 1/5 — What Happened?

*2020-01-28, version 5.1*

I tried submitting my Review. It wouldn’t take ANY name I put for my review. So I changed my stars from 1 to 5 stars to get around. I am purchased the app, put in the amounts I was tracking etc and felt great. I started to pay off more on the cards so I put in the new balance, and... now the payoff dates are in the past!? What happened? This is crazy! Doesn’t help me at all. Are you going to fix it, if so when? If not I would appreciate my money back.

### 1/5 — Glitch

*2018-06-11, version 5.1*

I just purchased this app to help pay off my debt. I chose snow ball strategy and typed in 3000 extra a month. The app told me I would be paid off by next January. Then I made my extra payment 3400 and it added 2 months to a March payoff, rather than showing an earlier payoff... clearly this isn’t right. The app is bulky as well with useless features. I am upset with this purchase

### 1/5 — Only good for one-time static debt

*2017-10-06, version 5.1*

App needs to be able to do math and show current debt as of assigned date of input instead of always showing original debt.

Needs field to add payment as of current date and assign it to either one-time or on-going from current date.

It is only effective for a one-time tool, not a current tracking/update tool.

There are PITA workarounds like doing the whole thing over as of now but it's a PITA

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2017-08-14, version 5.0*

The app doesn't work at all. When you go to enter info in it freezes your phone, gave me the black screen of death twice. Not worth selecting "get"

### 1/5 — Keep shutting down

*2017-01-04, version 4.0*

Unfortunately this app won't even accept one entry. It just stalls and shuts down. How many stars do I give!

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2016-11-15, version 4.0*

It's a good idea but it didn't work properly for me. It didn't make adjustments when payments had gone out. Deleted this app.

### 1/5 — A good idea but...

*2016-11-03, version 4.0*

There are faults with this app which I reported to the author and they didn't even reply to me.

1) The app does not let you choose very small repayments of a loan, it will suggest a new minimum. I already have smaller agreements in place and therefore cannot track my loan repayment.

2)There is no option to edit the repayments to a lower figure. You can make extra payments of a loan, but cannot reduce these payments in the future. I have often reduced my payments on loans based on fluctuating income.

3) There is no option to make overpayments on a mortgage to see how it effects the payoff date. I used to make an overpayment, and again regularly altered the amount based on fluctuating income. Also, can you edit the interest rate when it changes? I don't think so!

4) There is no way to add to the balance of a loan. A new charge might be added, such as a missed payment or late penalty or future fees.

Overall, there is little flexibility in real world use of this app. I would have had to delete a loan and set it up again every time the balance disagrees, but then you loose the progress bar. Speaking of which, the date of the loan should be able to be retrospective and the app should not assume you are always starting a new loan today.

If you wish to track debt payoff then your progress is from when you started. It's depressing to think you have made no progress on any of these until the very next month!

Please fix these issues, and I will fix (improve) my review.

### 1/5 — Froze the first time

*2015-07-29, version 4.0*

Cheap

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2024-11-20, version 5.1*

I got to track my progress and it motivated me to get the job of eliminating my debt done. Even when I had to stop a few months, I could start right where I left off!

### 5/5 — This app is just what I was looking for!

*2023-05-18, version 5.1*

I have been trying so many debt payoff calculators to find one without all the bells and whistles and is just simple to use. This one provides the exact information I needed for my debt payoff and it’s so easy to use! I highly recommend this app if you just need to know the basics for your debt payoffs. It saves your inputs, you can compare different payoff strategies and I didn’t pay anything to use it. Thank you for this app, it’s great!

### 5/5 — Great app. Simple a d functional

*2021-06-13, version 5.1*

Works as designed. Bought the add free version after 4 years!

### 5/5 — Debt Payoff Assistance

*2021-02-12, version 5.1*

It has taken me 2 months to figure out that you have to touch the date for it to record that payment. It does lay out the debt pay off so you can see the progress until payoff. I do like that this simple app has no ads. I do suggest that pictures be added to show what and how you can use certain function. This is a great simple no fuss app!

### 5/5 — Nice interface

*2020-07-29, version 5.1*

Easy to use as a calculator! Just what I was needing. Highly recommend

### 5/5 — Payoff your debt with a plan

*2020-06-25, version 5.1*

I love that it uses the snowball system to help pay off debt. Makes it simple and all the visual aspects of the app are awesome

### 5/5 — Exactly what I was looking for.

*2019-10-17, version 5.1*

I was attempting to create my own “snowball” method by applying the payment from a previously paid off debt onto the next one and then carrying that larger payment forward until all of my debts are paid off. I wanted to see the payments spread out in a chart so I can actually see what is happening with my payments. I like that I can choose a custom order of applying the snowball or pay in order of highest balance or interest first. I also like that I can add an extra payment and make the snowball bigger! It is a very simple app but it gets the job done. It gave me a closer end date to what seems like endless student loans!

### 5/5 — Free and fantastic

*2019-09-05, version 5.1*

This app does exactly what it claims. It is extremely user friendly and allows the user to do custom things, such as added snowball payments and one time additional principle payments.

The only drawback: you have to set a date that is for all loans at once. For example, if you add more bills/debt at a later date, the app will calculate it based on the date you entered your original data.

Still 5 stars!

### 5/5 — This is what I’ve been looking for

*2019-08-29, version 5.1*

I am only tracking one loan - a student loan that I’m making extra payments toward for early payoff. Love the amortization schedule and the ease in which I can mark it paid. I also love the Overview and the ability to make extra principal payments which I plan on doing next year. This app greatly surpasses the other app I was using. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Thank you!

*2019-01-21, version 5.1*

Love this app. Encourages you to pay off your debt as you see how easy and quickly you can. I thought I never would be debt free but this app showed me I can do it in 3 years!!!
