### 3/5 — Only Two Issus

*2024-10-10*

I luv the app. It’s good tool to have traveling down this road to becoming debt free. My issues are when I select ‘Lowest Balance First - Snowball’, it doesn’t auto arrange the accounts in that manner. Plus, #2, once I enter the accounts I can’t freely move them around. Other than that, I like it!!!

### 3/5 — Nice

*2024-05-02, version 5.0*

Solid layout but if you have your phone in dark mode you’re going to have to switch to light mode to be able to see anything, I wish they had that option directly through the app but you have to go to your phones settings for iPhones not sure if it’s the same for android

### 2/5 — Not Accessible

*2023-10-21, version 5.0*

I’m only 43, but I can barely read anything on this app. The blue font on black background is completely unreadable to me. The light gray font on white is the same. Sounds like a good app, but I’ll never know. Highly recommend following WCAG design standards.

### 3/5 — Meh

*2023-05-30*

Nice little app, some annoying bits though…

1) Doesn’t work for APR’s above 99.99%. Impossible to factor in short term loans for this reason

2) Doesn’t natively adapt to Dark Mode, have to turn it off in order to see what data has been inputted in the boxes (debt name, amount, APR, etc…)

### 2/5 — Hard to read

*2023-04-03, version 5.0*

I think there’s something off. The words are hard to read, like they are too light or the background needs to be dark. It was giving me a headache trying to input my data.

### 1/5 — Update the color!

*2022-04-27, version 5.0*

Can’t see anything, use to love it

### 1/5 — Broken app

*2022-04-05, version 5.0*

Downloaded the app, added my debt, selected the repayment plan I wanted to analyze and it didn’t calculate any of my he snowball payment effects. Useless calculator.

### 1/5 — Dark mode unavailable

*2022-04-02, version 5.0*

You can barely see anything in dark mode. The app will be black with dark blue writing and other hard to read combos. They need to update the app.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t calculate properly & text illegible

*2022-01-15, version 5.0*

Either there is an error in the calculator code or they don’t understand the snowball method - this calculates as if you are going to pay the monthly payments all the way through the life span of each debt. So instead of how snowball works:
Debt 1 - payment is $500
Debt 2 -min payment is $100

Once debt one is paid off with the $500 monthly payments, it is supposed to snowball (like when you roll a snowball and it gets bigger) into you debt 2 payment. So you should be paying $600 into debt 2 the month after you pay off debt 1.

Unfortunately this calculator analyzes your payments as if you pay off debt 1 on 1 Feb 22, but instead of rolling to $500 it shows you paying $100 until 1 Dec 22. It doesn’t matter which option you select to snowball they all do the same.

The color of the text for the “extra payment option” is so light it almost matches the background and if you try to type an amount into the box it doesn’t show, but calculates so it looks like the font is an exact match for the black entry box.

### 1/5 — Bad color scheme

*2022-01-14, version 5.0*

The color scheme makes this impossible to use. Black background with black text.

### 2/5 — Good tool, bad colors

*2022-01-14, version 5.0*

I can barely see how much my payment is. Dark blue on black is terrible color choice. Also hard to edit the payment numbers when you can’t delete from the middle

### 4/5 — Great app, fix dark mode

*2021-11-30*

The app is great. Love the functionality. But the interface colors are hard to read when iOS is in dark mode.

### 4/5 — Nice simple app - wish could pay for no ads

*2021-11-05*

I think this is a nice simple ad that sticks to minimal functionally but does it really well. It wish there were a way to pay a low one time in app payment to remove ads though. Also suggest adding what the original balance was on the loan. Thanks!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Hard to see

*2025-12-09*

The colors on the app make it almost impossible for me to read certain boxes and I didn’t see an option to switch or adjust. Also I selected the snowball option for the pay schedule and it didn’t appear that it actually applied that. It just snowballed the extra money.

### 1/5 — Incorrect

*2024-02-11, version 5.0*

The calculator is not consistent with PV/FV/Nper calculations using spreadsheet software.

### 1/5 — You need to update each account monthly

*2023-10-01, version 5.0*

Strange if your balance is $1455.45 you either have to round off in enter $1455 or $1456 same issue with payment if your payment is 240.56 you either have to enter $240 or $241 the strange this if your apr is 5.5% it strangely allows fraction in the apr wow but not in the balance or payment that really needs to be fixed in a update. Another annoying problem is seems like every month I seem to need to update a few accounts because the app seems to screw things up.
Annoying that you’ve to update each account every month because it keeps adding another month every month.

### 1/5 — What happened?

*2023-07-03*

I’ve had this app for a while. It is basic, but gives you some good info. However, after not using for a while I opened it today to find there have been some bad updates. Namely the color choices for the background. It blends with the text and you can’t read it. It does not look like the examples shown here on the App Store. It’s not a white background with black text. It is a black background with black text. So after many years of utilizing it, I deleted it.

### 1/5 — worst

*2023-03-21*

Bro if you are not going to do it right then why bother to even do it..I couldn't even be able to enter the amount beyond one digit

### 1/5 — Fonting and color of the appp

*2023-03-04*

Insane the develop who developed could have some colour knowledge I believe he/she has been used the white background and white text font which went of no use for the downloader simply delete if installed

### 1/5 — NOT IMPRESSES

*2022-09-14, version 5.0*

App doesn’t give you the option to and cents to payment amount so you either have to round up or down. Nothing sets this app apartment from any of the other loan except that it has a lot of ads.

### 1/5 — Unable to read text

*2022-07-17, version 5.0*

White text on white background, dark blue text on black background. Was really excited to give it a try but oh well.

### 1/5 — What a joke - text nearly unreadable.

*2022-06-30, version 5.0*

I would love to rate the functionality of the app, but that’s hard to do when they have white text on white backgrounds. Did the developers actually use the app? How are others using it? You can barely see the text.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2022-05-14*

The text blends in with the background and there’s no settings to change that. The developers obviously don’t read their reviews or maybe they would have fixed this ages ago. The snowball option doesn’t snowball how it should and instead just drops the payments off into oblivion. Do you know how a snowball is supposed to work? Once I pay this one off, I add that payment to one of my other bills. Larger or smaller it doesn’t matter, but the payment gets added to another bill regardless. Sadly, after years of use, I will be deleting this once useful app and going back to using pen and paper to calculate it all myself.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very Helpful

*2023-10-08, version 5.0*

Makes my financial life easier to deal with.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2023-08-14*

I have been searching for an app like this it is perfect!
I love how the app shows you when you'll pay off the credit card and how much interest youd pay if you only paid the minimum every month. It gets you motivated to want to pay more. For instance i have a credit card where i owe $2,470 a interest of 25% and minimum monthly payments of $80/m. If stay only paying the minimum monthly amount I would pay it off in Sept 2027 and id pay $1,529 extra in interest so in total it would be $3,999. Thats crazy!! So if i pay $500 extra a month id pay this card of in Dec of 2023 and I only pay $145 in interest than so i finish it off with paying $2,615 in total.
It will also show how much in interest youll pay for each month which is so awesome☺️
If your like me and want to start to understand where your going with this debt and what you need to do to pay of your debt sooner. I highly suggest downloading the app.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2022-11-13*

Good app

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2022-05-19*

This app really put things in perspective for my mortgage and other debts. It gave me a viable plan to be debt and mortgage free within nine years compared to twenty-five years. This is a time saver for me.

### 5/5 — Get this one.

*2022-01-14*

Get this one. I downloaded 5 “free” apps and you had to pay to use. Or they only let you enter 1-2 debts without paying. This just has a 5-second add once in awhile. Very reasonable.

Just debt snowball, not other budget items. But that is all I was looking for. Lots of options related to that.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I wanted!

*2021-12-31*

I wanted a simple debt calculator that doesn’t ask for my personal information (Nerd Wallet), doesn’t ask for my bank accounts before showing me a pay off plan (Bright), doesn’t charge me to use. Yes, there’s ads but I’ll take those over the other options. Simple, easy and gives all the information I need.

### 5/5 — Debt

*2021-10-03, version 5.0*

Too early to tell!

### 5/5 — Change

*2020-08-13, version 4.0*

Gives me focus an meaningful purpose. Beautiful App

### 5/5 — Super helpful

*2020-06-18*

I’ve always had a written log of monthly bills to help me keep track of my payments but no actual plan in place. With this app, I was able to actually see my payments lowering my debt. I can simulate any payment amount I want in order to finish paying within a certain time. So far, I have paid off 2 credit cards and it feels amazing to see all the progress I’ve made. Thanks Debt App!!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2019-07-03*

Easy to use gives a good analysis of debt with snowball payment plans.
