### 3/5 — Good but could be better

*2026-03-24, version 5.1*

I like the easy to use format of this app but the date is ALWAYS off. I added a debt and the payoff date was set as 2023….its 2026. It seems like this would be an easy update. Please fix this issue!!!!

### 3/5 — Accounts 3 interface?

*2025-04-13, version 5.1*

Does Debt Payoff Pro interface with accounts 3?

### 4/5 — Great App, but…

*2025-01-09*

I enjoy this app and find it very helpful, but it doesn’t account for income, making the last few months of each debt under the snowball method unrealistically large and difficult to manage. Switching between the snowball method and non-extra payments is also inconvenient, as it requires users to re-mark paid months, and it only allows checking off three months at a time. If I’ve already marked six months as paid and switch from non-snowball, it resets all my progress. While I can work around this by updating the remaining balance manually, it would be much more convenient if the app offered an option to preserve already marked paid months.

### 4/5 — Month change

*2024-12-28, version 5.1*

How do I change the month of the payment? The software is about three months behind.M

### 2/5 — Needs imagination

*2024-06-28*

Although a useful tool, it is not flexible enough to update changes without deleting the whole lot of information and starting over ie if a debt increases, you can’t adjust the overall amount.

Secondly, once you start to make payments and you wish to change the debt payment method, you’ve got to start over again!

The app needs more flexibility for real life scenarios.

### 2/5 — Needs a lot of work to edit and make useful

*2024-03-12, version 5.1*

After using for almost a year I feel it was a waste of time and money. I feel it is a useless waste of time using it.

### 2/5 — App needs work

*2023-08-12, version 5.1*

This app has potential, but is missing the mark on a couple of details. Would love to ask the developer about these issues, but can’t find any way to contact them. Frustrating.

### 3/5 — It doesn’t know what year we are in.

*2023-08-10, version 5.1*

This app still thinks it’s last year and I can’t find a way to fix that.

### 3/5 — Stuck in 2018

*2022-05-07*

Love this app, but now when I try and use it, all of the dates are stuck in 2018 with no way to make it relevant to current date.

### 3/5 — Overall good but minor(or major) complaints

*2022-01-25*

I bought this as part of a checkbook bundle, and I would buy it again, I love the checking app. I like this app but it could be so much better with a few tweaks. My mortgage and credit card amounts get off by a few cents and I have to periodically adjust.
The BIG COMPLAINT: when you need to adjust a debt, there needs to be a way to do it without deleting and starting over. It’s disheartening and discouraging to look like you just started to pay on something when in reality you’ve been paying it down for months but the payment amount or interest rate changed. You have to pretty much reset the date and amount on all of the debts. Also the debt I realized I didn’t have in the list, when I added the amount I owe NOW, it shows that as the amount I owed months ago. Need a way to add new debts from today, not months ago

### 3/5 — Ok app, it’ll do

*2021-06-15, version 5.1*

It’s all fine and dandy, however. I wish I could change to weekly payments instead of monthly

### 4/5 — Bi-weekly

*2021-01-04*

I love this app and use it all of the time. However if I have 1 complaint it would be that there is no bi-weekly payment option.

### 3/5 — Can’t reset payment dates

*2020-08-09*

I like this app however I wanted to start over because I had the wrong figures listed. I haven’t been able to find a way to reset the payment dates. All of the payment due dates have passed already. My dates are starting at March of 2020 and we are in August.

### 4/5 — The best

*2020-05-02*

The best I’ve ever used! Smart and simple.
Thx

### 3/5 — Help

*2020-03-25, version 5.1*

How do I like this to different devices

### 4/5 — Needs more options

*2019-12-07*

I would like to be able to enter a custom amount each month in case I can’t pay the original snow ball amount, like have on input of “actual payment made”. Then this would be the perfect app!!

### 4/5 — Good app missing one feature though

*2019-11-18, version 5.1*

Great app, needs the ability to add in extra payments when you can.

### 4/5 — Could be better

*2019-10-21, version 5.1*

Nice app with 2 issues - q won’t let me alter repayments downwards when situations change and my payment is set at more than the minimum anyway and needs to add in weekly and fortnightly repayments as normal everyone gets paid monthly. Also thought there would be more features with the paid version but no. Still a very useful app.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2019-09-25*

This really helps to plan for debt payoff. Would be nice to be able to add a one-time extra payment and see how that effects the payoff date. I’d like to see that in the next update. Would give it 5 stars if that were an option

### 4/5 — Great app, BUT....

*2019-09-24*

Unfortunately, life happens and I had to “add” another debt a year later. However, I could not set the date it initiated and it deferred back to the date of the other year old debts. Would be a nice feature to be able to MODIFY your original plan.

### 3/5 — Could easily be 5

*2019-09-07, version 5.1*

I really like this app. BUT as mentioned in other reviews, I can’t reset the debt date or amount!!
For example:
I have my credit cards listed and I started using this 1/1/2019 with a $1,000 balance. I make a purchase using one of my credit cards today in 9/2019 for $400 ish. Then I go to change the existing balance to the new updated amount of debt and it starts that new balance of $1400 back at my original entry date. So it looks like I had a $1400 balance back in Jan. Now, it becomes pointless to hit and register any payments made toward the debt. And all the other figures get screwed up: the payoff date will now be incorrect, the interest..... I tried deleting all of my debts and reentering and deleting the app and reinstalling. Same thing.

So if you plan on NEVER adding to your debt, this is a great app! If your debt changes, maybe not the app for you. Unless I’m doing something wrong.... but based on other reviews it doesn’t look like it.

### 3/5 — Making a payment

*2019-08-19, version 5.1*

App is great except, I have no place to put a payment when I make a extra payment or pay off early?!?!?!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not helpful.

*2025-08-22, version 5.1*

Wasted $.99.

### 1/5 — Same as free version

*2022-12-09, version 5.1*

I’m not sure what you even get different in the paid version so that’s disappointing. Nothing really calculates right - it’s not showing me interest saved or months shaved off my mortgage. It’s basically an excel sheet, the least they could do was number the payments so you knew how many you had left.

### 1/5 — Not impressed!!!!!!

*2022-09-12, version 5.1*

Not much different from the free version!! It could use improvements, a lot of improvements!!!

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2021-01-12, version 5.1*

I just upgraded to the pro version thinking I would be able to change dates but nope, still just shows whatever date it wants. Deleting.

### 1/5 — Total rubbish

*2020-09-16*

Total rubbish software, please don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — Not Accurate

*2019-06-05, version 5.1*

It’s not calculating the payments correctly.
Example: saying it’s paying off three bills in July 19 with more money than I have allotted. Bill1: $145, min payment $29. Bill2: $221, min payment $43. Bill3: $845, min payment $48. Snowball monthly amount $688. With this setup bill3 shouldn’t be paid off until Aug 19 not Jul 19. This also throws off the rest of the payments for my other bills as well.

Other apps and computer spreadsheet works flawlessly.

Also, why isn’t there a sync through iCloud or DropBox for other iOS sync capabilities.

### 1/5 — debt entry

*2018-12-22*

needs to be updated - interest rates change and you cant change it you have to delete entire debt and reinput. then that will ness everthinh else up using a different date. cant even edit a name. probably will quit using.

no place to put in a note for a debt. Is no field to enter an introductory rate and date range that the rate will last. cant even manually change an already entered debt you must delete it

these are pretty vital and standard things to keep track of so disappointing

### 1/5 — Not helpful at all

*2018-11-16, version 5.1*

After entering all of my debts the reports shows very little detail and offer very little help in terms of playing out different scenarios. Very very unhappy that I bought this.

### 1/5 — Dates are WRONG

*2018-09-28, version 5.1*

When I enter my debts, it starts in 2016. I upgraded thinking it would fix the issue and it didn’t. I would like my money back.

### 1/5 — $

*2018-04-19, version 5.1*

Paid for the upgrade and it’s no different then the free one. Waste of money.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Helpful and useful app! Rated 1

*2025-02-07*

This is a great app. It’s been available for a long time, since the early days of the iPhone. It helped me to become debt free before, and now due to unfortunate health expenses I find myself needing it again. You never know what life may bring in terms of hardship. This will help you fix it and become free of the blood sucking interest charges.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2022-11-05*

I been looking for an app that does the snowball method, finally after two looking is finally here. Amazing App, everything you need to get off out debt is in the App. Dates, projection, and I love the Pie chart avaialable where you can track your progress. A great feature would be a reminder once a debt is paid off, congratualting the user of the progress. I am pleased to have bought the App, and I will recommend it to familly and friends.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2020-07-13, version 5.1*

Excellent! It does everything I would expect and more. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Works Great!!

*2019-06-06, version 5.1*

This is the easiest plan to work with; it’s made a huge difference in my ability to pay off my debts more quickly. I love it!

### 5/5 — Great app, instructions not clear !

*2018-05-30*

Ok so I have had to re-write my review as I have dis overweight the app does do what I reported it did not !! The app allows you to set a debt payment plan, allowed you to select each payment when it is made and shows a current debt, how much left to go and other stats, an essential tool for those wanting to seriously manage themselves out of debt - this does the job well although the instructions could be a little clearer

### 5/5 — Very helpful app

*2018-01-23*

I’ve been using this app for years and I absolutely love it. It has helped me to plan my spending budget and not forget when to pay these bills. It feels great when I’m able to highlight the last payment I need to make. I love that I can run reports and that I can access the same information on both my iPhone and iPad. Keep up the great work.

### 5/5 — Good purchase

*2017-12-03*

The app has helped me keep on track with paying my bills off. Great app! One problem is when making changes all previous transactions are deleted. Not a deal breaker. Still lets you know when you will be out of debt if you continue on the path.

### 5/5 — Love This App!

*2017-11-09, version 5.1*

This is one of the best apps that I have ran across. Puts it all right in your target zone. Done.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2017-09-20, version 5.1*

Excellent little app, like it so far😍, everything I need on there, love the graphic pic, motivating, gives me a good financial picture of where Iam at, how Iam making things move.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2017-06-25, version 5.0*

It really helps to be able to see when I can get my debt paid off.
