## What is DEBUGGER?

■ It looks like a terminal. That's the point.

Black screen. Neon green text. System logs scrolling forever. CPU load and memory
pressure climbing. To anyone glancing over your shoulder on the train, you are
debugging a complex production system.

What you are actually doing is connecting three or more matching symbols.

■ How it plays

You are an incident response engineer covering 16 data centers around the world.

- Pick a degraded node on the world map
- Travel there (the farther it is, the longer it takes)
- Patch the bugs on site (that's the puzzle)
- Earn experience and move to the next incident (credits arrive on promotion)

Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Frankfurt, Sao Paulo, Cape Town and more. Travel time is
derived from real geographic distance, so crossing the planet actually costs you time.

■ Three numbers are trying to kill you

While you work, three resources keep rising:

- CPU — above 72% sectors of the board freeze and become unusable
- MEM — clearing five or more at once brings it down hard. Small clears barely dent it
- TRACE — accelerates the higher CPU and MEM get. This is your real timer

If any of them hits 100%, the session is lost. Clearing three at a time will never outrun the load. You have to build bigger
COMBOs, and land them fast enough to hold the CHAIN multiplier.

■ Fatigue, and the engineer ladder

Deploying and traveling makes you tired. Fatigue only recovers in real time, and
going in exhausted means starting from a worse baseline. Knowing when to rest is
part of the game.

Patching bugs earns experience and promotions: INTERN, ENGINEER, SENIOR, STAFF,
PRINCIPAL, DISTINGUISHED, FELLOW — and beyond. The final rank is SINGULARITY at
level 85.

Restore all 16 nodes and the world is reinfected at a higher severity. It does not end.

■ Compete monthly

Register a handle and you appear on the global leaderboard — by experience
earned, by best COMBO, and by incidents contained. It resets every month, so
a late start is never a lost cause. Registration is optional.

■ Escalations

Eight times a day, one site escalates. Containment takes three passes and the
site relocates after each one. Each escalation has its own rule for what counts
as progress, and the briefing tells you before you commit.

■ Languages

The interface is English — it has to read as a terminal. The manual and the daily
orders are also available in Japanese. It follows your device language, and you can
switch it from the profile screen.

■ Made for

- Short sessions with real pressure
- Not wanting to look like you are playing a game in public
- People who like black terminals

■ Ads and purchases

Free to play all the way through. Ads are mostly opt-in — watch one to skip travel
time or recover fatigue, only when you choose to. A one-time PRO license removes ads
permanently.

## Frequently asked questions about DEBUGGER

### What is DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal?

DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal is a puzzle game that simulates a hacker's terminal. Players match symbols to debug systems, manage resources like CPU and memory, and travel to different data centers to resolve incidents.

### How does the gameplay of DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal work?

Players select a node on a world map, travel to it, and then solve a matching puzzle to patch bugs. Managing CPU, MEM, and TRACE resources is crucial to avoid session loss. Larger combos and chains are needed to outpace the rising load.

### Can I play DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal offline?

The provided description does not explicitly state whether DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal supports offline play. However, features like global leaderboards and monthly competitions suggest an online component is necessary for full functionality.

### Does DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal have ads?

Yes, DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal contains advertisements. Most ads are opt-in, allowing players to watch them to skip travel time or recover fatigue. A one-time PRO license is available to remove ads permanently.

### What is the age rating for DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal?

DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal has an age rating of 4+. This indicates it is suitable for a wide range of players.

### How often is DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal updated?

The latest version is 1.8.1, released on September 21, 2026. This suggests a relatively frequent update cycle, with the last update being recent.

### What platforms is DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal available on?

Based on the provided data, DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal is supported on iPhone devices.

### What are the different engineer ranks in DEBUGGER: Incident Terminal?

Players can progress through ranks such as INTERN, ENGINEER, SENIOR, STAFF, PRINCIPAL, DISTINGUISHED, FELLOW, and ultimately SINGULARITY at level 85. Restoring all nodes leads to a reinfection at higher severity, implying continuous progression.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8.1 — 2026-09-21

DEBUGGER can now reach you when something is waiting.

- An escalation window has opened — a node can escalate for the next hour
- Your engineer has arrived on site
- FTG is back to 0, so you can deploy anywhere again

Notifications are on from the start. Each of the three can be turned off in the profile, next to the language setting, and quiet hours are set in the same place — 23:00 to 07:00 by default: nothing is delivered inside that window, and nothing is held back to arrive after it.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-09-20

New here? A short training run now starts on first launch. On a sandbox board where nothing can fail, four steps walk you through connecting three tiles, using diagonals, clearing bigger combos and pushing DEBUG to 100%. Finishing it the first time earns XP, and you can replay it any time from the manual ([?]).

You can now read bulletins from the map. Maintenance windows and update notes are posted to [MOTD], and the button shows how many you have not read yet.

### 1.7.3 — 2026-09-13

Escalated sites now come in two kinds. One still wants a single long match; the other raises a shell that only a long match breaks, and for a short while after that anything counts. Which kind you are facing is shown before you deploy, along with what it takes.

You can now see what you are up against — the opponent stands opposite you above the board and reacts when a patch lands.

MEM no longer raises the minimum match size as it fills. Three is always enough. Big clears still bring MEM down far faster than small ones.

Dragging across the board is smoother, especially on older devices.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-09-12

Internal improvements to how the app measures usage. No changes to gameplay.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-09-07

Move your account to a new phone.

Issue a transfer code from the profile screen, then enter it on the new device. Your handle, rank, lifetime records and credits move across. The code expires in 48 hours and works once. No sign-in is required.

You can also change your display name now, once every 30 days.

Site progress, wave and shift orders stay behind. The PRO license is tied to your store account, so it carries over on its own.
