Navigation is terrible, impossible to search articles, links from contents page removed so have to endlessly scroll through to find what you want. Good articles, plenty of different regions/ wines, some of which I have able to buy and taste!! Don't normally review apps but this one seems particularly flakey. ### 1/5 — Mr *2016-07-20, version 5.4* When the app works and I am reading the magazine, I have very few issues and it's a great way to issue fantastic content. I would give it 4 stars (it would be better with search facilities and links to the website). However the app frequently does not work, with the latest issues not showing in the library and the customer support is completely rubbish, providing boiler-plate answers that do not resolve the issues, hence my rating of 1 star. For a major magazine publisher, this is quite extraordinary incompetence. ### 1/5 — Problems.... *2016-03-08, version 5.4* When it works, I don't have any quarrel with this app but when it doesn't then it is frustrating. I've been trying to download my latest edition for 4 days now and nothing... I re-installed the app, signed out and in etc. again nothing. And now on top of this lost all my previous editions and can't retrieve anything. Grrrrr... ### 1/5 — Poor *2015-12-03, version 5.4* A subscription touting waste of space - via a difficult to read PDF! Can possibly see its merits on an iPad but iPhone is impossible. Go and buy the mag because unless you subscribe for mag content, there's nothing to see here. It's merely a portal for subscription. Expect nothing more. Perfectly simple to read and navigate and a more than adequate substitute for the print version. I've never had any trouble accessing it and having quick and easy access to previous numbers is a bonus. No doubt a dedicated iPad version would be ideal but I can't find much wrong with the present set-up. ### 1/5 — It's a PDF of the mag, crap. *2015-06-13, version 5.4* That's it, a PDF that you have to expand constantly to read, love the mag, but a PDF in this day and age???? Really???? I only gave 1 star because I love the content. I have an iTunes subscription but it keeps asking me to pay for the next edition. I get it okay! If I want the reader view I should swipe up. Stop showing this on every page as it is ruining the magazine content. ### 1/5 — Awful *2017-11-06, version 6.0.0* Slow and clunky in the extreme. Frustratingly, you need to download each issue from your library one at a time, which takes fr ages (I have several years of back issues that I’ve bought). To add insult to injury when you’re offline, it refuses to recognise any of the downloads exist and tells you that you have none. Unless it improves significantly, I’m cancelling my subscription. ### 1/5 — No good especially on iPhone *2017-10-31, version 6.0.0* The iPad version of this app used to be ok, although the latest update has introduced irritating new ‘features’ - signing in is a pain, it doesn’t remember the page you were on and a pop up appears every time you turn a page telling you to swipe up for reader view. On the iPhone the app seems to freeze on the start page whenever I open it, so I haven’t been able to use it at all. Hopefully the iPad version will be updated soon but I wouldn’t bother with the phone one. ### 1/5 — If it ain’t broke .... why fix it! *2017-10-10, version 6.0.0* Latest update: Slow, clunky, web stuff getting in the way, already a subscriber via Apple so why keep asking me to subscribe? On my iPhone the enlargement function is unstable and the font too smell. I rarely read Decanter on the phone. I used to like the ability to tap on page number in the Contents list and go straight to the article. This has disappeared and now I have to scroll through from front to back. That is frustrating.
