### 5/5 — Interesting way to run Decent machines with the use of AI

*2026-07-12*

I downloaded the app because I wanted a way to run the Decent espresso machine on iOS. I didn’t realize that AI is used to analyze shot performance which I find interesting. Another feature I find useful is the ability to update results and re-upload to Visualizer which avoids having to login to Visualizer to make the updates plus itpreserves the history in the app.

### 5/5 — A must for any Decent espresso machine owners

*2026-04-22*

My Decent xxl 1.45 has worked perfectly since I bought it a few years ago. I was using a new Samsung tablet but always wanted an easy to use app for my iPad. Since the beginning of the development of this app I have been closely monitoring its development but tbh always worried about the potential for causing problems with my perfectly working machine. I decided to take the plunge and downloaded the app. To my amazement and surprise the app instantly recognized my Decent machine and scale. My old large Decent scale connected but does not work properly. I suspect it is the scale as my much older Lunar scale works perfectly. I am working with the app developer to see if we can get the Decent scale to work. However, that aside the program is easy to use and very intuitive. I’m diving deeper into the more advanced settings. An in-depth video of the many features would be helpful.
Try this app. You will not be disappointed.
UPDATE: The app was updated and fixed the scale issue. Everything now works perfectly.

### 5/5 — Apple People 🙌🏼

*2026-04-13*

My Samsung tablet had gone out, had gone out and I thought I was going to have to buy a new Samsung tablet, but I used Google search to look for any alternatives and came out with this app now I can use my machine with either my phone or an iPad. Well done easy to use works perfectly. I don’t know if I missed the instruction manual but maybe I’ll shoot a video for how to use it. I’d be my only recommendation is if you’re coming from the Samsung, the functionality is a little bit different. Took me a out how to use some of the buttons

### 5/5 — Useful app, helpful developers

*2026-04-08*

This is a really well designed app with a great workflow and usability, and it has very responsive developers. If you use a Decent espresso machine and own an iPad, then this app is for you.

### 5/5 — Stunning new features - my default Decent Espress app

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-06

This update sharpens your shot graphs and lets home-screen buttons do more, plus a handful of fixes.

RICHER SHOT GRAPHS
• Magnify flow 1x, 2x, or 3x so the range you actually dial on isn't squashed at the bottom of the axis (2x by default).
• Tap the right-hand axis to cycle it between Weight, Temperature, and Flow — your choice sticks.
• A new Graph Options menu gathers Advanced Curves and the flow scale in one place, and those choices now stay in sync across the live, detail, review, and comparison graphs.

BUTTONS THAT DO MORE
• Home-screen buttons — Recipes, Beans, Steam, Hot Water, Flush, Profiles, Equipment, History, Favorites, and Settings — can each carry their own long-press and double-click action. Set them under Layout Editor > the button's options > Gestures.

JUMP STRAIGHT TO THE RIGHT SHOTS
• Four new actions open Shot History already filtered to the active recipe, bean, bag, or profile.
• Search your history by bag with the new bag: keyword — bag:"guji 2026-07" finds the July bag, not the August one.
• See which recipe made a drink, right in your history.

FIXES
• Fixed an intermittent crash when leaving the app.
• Tapping a History button while already viewing Shot History now applies or clears the filter instead of doing nothing.
• Bottom-bar buttons stay on screen when a profile name is long.
• A recipe now switches off when its profile is no longer the loaded one.
• The home-screen shot-chart background no longer freezes on its startup curves after the first legend toggle.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-08-05

This update makes your profiles work everywhere, helps WiFi scales find and fix themselves, and keeps your grinder's dial-in history where it belongs.

PROFILES THAT WORK EVERYWHERE
• Profiles you save, export, or share in Decenza can now be opened in Decent's own app (Decaid) and de1app — previously they couldn't read Decenza's profiles at all.
• The built-in profiles were reconciled across all three apps, so the same profile brews the same coffee everywhere. 7 shared profiles added.

WIFI SCALES THAT RECOVER THEMSELVES
• Scales are now found by browsing for the scale itself, so a renamed scale is discovered automatically and a scale that briefly drops off the network reconnects on its own — no manual rescan.
• "Scan for Devices" now checks Bluetooth, WiFi, and USB in a single press.
• Fixed a WiFi scale quietly falling back to estimated flow after a failed reconnect. One session ran 7.5 hours on the estimate with the scale awake and plugged in the whole time.

YOUR GRINDER'S HISTORY STAYS PUT
• Recording burrs, a basket, or puck prep on gear you already use no longer detaches that grinder's dial-in history or resets the grind wheel to whole numbers. Affected equipment is reunited automatically on first launch.
• The grind wheel now steps by the increment your own history shows, and uses your active grinder instead of averaging every grinder you own.

A SMARTER AI ADVISOR
• New models: GPT-5.6 (OpenAI) and Claude Sonnet 5 (Anthropic) are now the defaults.
• Running-cost estimates are shown per model instead of per provider — the old figures understated real cost by roughly 5–8×.
• Fixed the advisor failing with "empty response" on newer Anthropic models, and misjudging whether you'd actually followed its last suggestion.

FIXES & POLISH
• Fixed a crash when opening Settings and switching to the Language tab.
• Shot notes, ratings, and dose edits are no longer lost if you quit right after entering them.
• The coffee in the cup view now holds until you leave the page instead of vanishing the moment a shot ends.
• Hot Water in the setup wizard is now one tap, water-vessel and steam-pitcher presets save more reliably, expanded DiFluid R2 support with Microbalance Ti connectivity, plus assorted display and accessibility fixes.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-07-27

Decenza 2.0 is our biggest update yet — instead of picking a profile, you can now just pick a drink.

Everything new is optional. If you love your current setup, nothing changes and nothing is taken away.

RECIPES
• Save a whole drink as one tappable object: profile, beans, grind, dose, yield, temperature, even steam settings. Tap "Morning Cappuccino" and the machine sets itself up end to end.
• A step-by-step wizard builds recipes for espresso, latte, cappuccino, americano, filter, tea and more — prefilled from your own shots.
• Recipes follow your coffee: finish a bag and they quietly move to your newest bag of the same beans.
• Turn any great shot from your history into a recipe with one tap.
• Pin a recipe to load automatically when the app starts or the machine wakes.

MAKE IT YOURS
• Set your own photo as the app background, or pick from 19 coffee-inspired colours and 6 subtle patterns.
• New glass look: translucent bars and cards let your background shine through.
• Or use your last shot's chart as a living wallpaper that updates after every espresso.
• Rearrange the home screen with drag-and-drop widgets: clock, shot plan, live scale weight, one-tap grind adjust and more.

SMARTER WEIGHING & STEAMING
• Weight-timed steaming: put the pitcher on the scale and the steam time adapts to your milk automatically.
• Weigh beans without taring — the dose is captured for you, with a confirmation ding.
• Optional live coaching cues while you steam.

AND MORE
• Yield by ratio: set 1:2 and your target follows the dose you actually weighed.
• Track grinders, baskets and puck prep — every shot remembers which gear made it.
• Tell the AI advisor how a shot tasted with a few taps — no typing needed.
• Celsius or Fahrenheit, everywhere, including history graphs.
• New Maintenance area with the descaling wizard and a Transport Mode that drains the machine for storage or shipping.
• Lost your history? Restore shots from Visualizer by date range.
• Sharper shot review pages, a better grind picker, and hundreds of fixes and refinements throughout.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-06-21

- Equipment packages — Set up your grinder, basket, and puck-prep tools, then switch between gear setups with a tap. Your equipment is now recorded with each shot.
  - Coffee bag inventory — Log each bag of beans, link your shots to it, and keep dialing notes organized per bag.
  - Bean Base search — Find and link your coffee from a shared bean database, right on the post-shot review screen.
  - Weight-timed steaming — Put your milk pitcher on the scale and Decenza scales steam time to the amount of milk.
  - Hands-free dose capture — Weigh your dose automatically, with a "ding" when the weight settles.
  - Rename profiles directly from the actions menu.
  - Added support for the DiFluid R1 refractometer.

  Fixes & improvements
  - The live shot graph no longer cuts off around three minutes on long filter-style shots.
  - Cleaning, descale, and calibration flushes no longer clutter your shot history.
  - The steam screen now stays put until you've acknowledged a health warning.
  - More reliable Visualizer syncing — post-shot edits and roast dates upload correctly.
  - Fixed AI Advice and Discuss buttons becoming unresponsive after editing a shot.
  - General connection stability improvements for scales, refractometers, and the machine.

### 1.7.5 — 2026-05-29

NEW
  • Half Decent Scale over WiFi — connect your HDS over WiFi as an
alternative to Bluetooth. It's auto-discovered on your local network
and shows up with a "(WiFi)" tag; if WiFi can't be reached, the app
falls back to Bluetooth automatically without losing your primary
scale. You can also add a scale by address by hand. (Requires the
    upcoming HDS firmware update.)
  • Home Screen widget — glance at your machine's live status (heating,
ready, pouring, steaming…) right from your iPhone or iPad Home Screen.
  • Auto-update to Visualizer — edits on the shot-review page (notes,
rating, beans, TDS…) now sync to Visualizer automatically when you
leave the page. New "Auto-Update Shots" toggle in Settings → Visualizer.
  • Pin a profile to auto-load on startup, and save a copy of any profile
    from the editor.
  • Faster, GPU-accelerated cup-fill animation and shot graphs.
  • Configurable DE1 fan threshold, scheduled stay-awake now up to 12
hours, and a Manual button on the About card that opens the guide.

  IMPROVED
  • Smarter AI dial-in advice — refers to shots by date and time, ignores
manually-stopped shots, and never invents grind numbers; when same-batch
data is thin it gives honest finer/coarser direction instead. Now
    powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash.
  • Far fewer false "scale disconnected" / "connection error" popups on
brief Bluetooth or WiFi blips — your scale quietly reconnects on its own.
  • Accurate Decent Scale battery readout, with a proper charging indicator
while it's on the charger instead of a misleading "100%".
  • Auto-reconnect to your primary WiFi scale the moment it returns to the
    network.
  • Known Devices is now a clear drop-down that shows each scale's
connection type and marks your primary — and picking one actually
    switches to it.
  • Shot-review edits now save automatically, with Undo.

  FIXED
  • AI Advice and Discuss buttons no longer disappear after you edit a shot.
  • Lifting the cup early no longer corrupts the saved yield or the AI's
    grind advice.
  • Refractometer (DiFluid R2) now connects reliably and keeps its TDS
    reading.
  • Scales on weaker-Bluetooth setups no longer drop weight or skip an
    infusion/pour step mid-shot.
  • Settings and Visualizer shot links now persist reliably; links are
    backfilled for past shots.
  • Shots are never auto-rated — your ratings are yours alone.
  • Shot history keeps its scroll position when you return from a shot.
  • Fixed a crash when certain emoji appeared in AI conversations.
  • Dropped the unreliable "temperature unstable" badge; the grind-issue
badge no longer misfires on lever-decline profiles or guesses on
    profiles it doesn't recognize.
