### 2/5 — Not too good

*2025-07-13, version 1.4.4*

It only works for some labels

### 2/5 — Inconsistent

*2022-03-29*

I love the concept of this app but my wife and I are getting completely different colours for different foods. We have set our setting exactly the same and we look up exactly the same food and it’s red on mine and yellow on hers?

### 2/5 — Gluten free please

*2022-02-06, version 1.4.4*

This is a great idea , but needs improvement .
A selection of portion size would be helpful example-1/4 cup or teaspoon etc. I am also celiac so gluten free choices would be nice. My food is a scratch made meal. I do eat out but only at restaurants or bakeries that are dedicated gluten free. I will continue using the app and trying to figure out portions on my own sodium potassium on my own . Almond flour ,brown& white rice flour, tapioca, guar gum, tapioca startch, Corn ,potato, cassava, & chestnut flours.
I do wish you continued success. Finally a very helpful tool to manage basic food intake for a person that eats commercially prepared or packaged foods.
Thank You -Vonda Leiservonma

### 2/5 — I am lost.

*2021-12-30, version 1.4.4*

I just installed the app and it wants me to check off a color without telling me what it means. The whole label scan thing is weird too, because people with kidney disease should not eat processed food, and most packaged food is processed. I found it impossible to record fresh fruit, salad, stir fry, and other essentials of a healthy diet. I must be missing something.

Stage 3 kidney disease is dangerous, because during this stage, we are 22% more likely to have a heart attack than others, so I thought heart and kidney together was a perfect combo. However, neither the UI nor scanning procedures make much sense to me.

### 2/5 — App would not….allow me to fill in my dairy

*2021-07-20, version 1.4.4*

More directions need to come with app!!!

### 3/5 — Some do not list potassium

*2021-05-18, version 1.4.4*

That is important in my choices of what I can eat. Not a complete list of food items.

### 2/5 — Need more work

*2021-02-18, version 1.4.2*

Would like to see an option to manually enter a food/beverage in case a barcode is not available

### 3/5 — Almost amazing

*2020-12-06, version 1.4.2*

This app is by far one of the best for quickly assessing foods that are acceptable on a renal diet. However, it could be amazing with a few edits. The ability to manually enter the potassium levels of foods that don’t show it in the scan would be great. There are many flagged as green simply because this data is missing and it’s very misleading.
There seems to be no way to add foods manually which is frustrating. There is no way to add foods from specialty markets etc.
I hope the developers continue to evolve this app and increase the functionality while keeping the simplicity and clean design.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor design/interface

*2022-09-03, version 1.4.4*

Installed on my iPad and got useful (not great results). Intended to install on iPhone to use in store, but forgot password used to install on iPad. Chose rest password option and got the link to rest. Put in and confirmed new password, but got error message ((several times). App doesn’t allow user to see password entered - makes it difficult to see any mismatches. Front end must have been designed by one of those 10-week coding graduates

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2022-07-24, version 1.4.4*

Unable to create an account, or even view terms of service or privacy, as any action results in an error, “Cannot connect to server”, or Error 404. Uninstalled immediately.

### 1/5 — Much too difficult

*2022-07-05, version 1.4.4*

App did not work for me

### 1/5 — Grades are not accurate bc they don’t list potassium

*2022-06-08, version 1.4.4*

Most don’t lost potassium - not impressed

### 1/5 — Tracking breakdown

*2022-03-27, version 1.4.4*

There is now meal categories nor totals for what is tracked. Just happy or sad faces

### 1/5 — Not for homemade foods

*2021-10-14, version 1.4.4*

This App seems to be more tailored for processed foods which a person with renal insufficiency / disease should not eat.

### 1/5 — Not great at all

*2021-08-14, version 1.4.4*

Doesn’t monitor phosphorus, doesn’t allow sodium changes,

### 1/5 — Scan

*2021-04-06, version 1.4.4*

The scan never seems to work and when I try to put the item in manually, it never has it listed

### 1/5 — Help

*2020-10-26, version 1.4.2*

I’m trying to use your app and it won’t let me enter skim milk for breakfast or get beyond the first item I added, which was puffed wheat, and it counted that twice and it won’t let me enter anything on my profile. Also, II had my kidney transplant 6 months ago and it doesn’t have a category for post transplant patients.

PLEASE HELP!

### 2/5 — App functionality

*2025-11-18, version 1.4.4*

Certain parts of the app does not work in Tryna function, adding data. I keep getting error message.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app with a great purpose

*2021-04-17, version 1.4.4*

excited to use this app to help me and my family maintain healthy life balance.

### 5/5 — Happy user

*2020-11-09, version 1.4.2*

It’s a very user friendly app. I love the fact that it can track down the sodium levels in the food, And the food scan works every time with no issues! Overall the app works perfectly and I’m happy with the experience

### 5/5 — Useful to watch salt i eat

*2020-11-03, version 1.4.2*

Someone actually recommended this app to me because i need to make sure i don’t eat too much salt(sodium). I was surprised how much salt has bread i buy all the time... good app!

### 3/5 — Needs some cleaning up.

*2024-07-27, version 1.4.4*

I wish that all bar codes could be scanned.
It would be nice to have fresh spices to scan or find. Also it would be nice to have an option for dried beans and cans low in sodium are scanning as high sodium and nutritional facts don’t match up with the label on the can. App needs work. Once hopefully the bugs are worked out, this could be a great app to use at the grocery store.

### 3/5 — Birthday Date Picker Issues

*2024-01-20, version 1.4.4*

I could not select a date other than today on the birthday picker. I rolled the dial to the correct month, and it would spin back to the current month and not allow my birth month to be selected. Same for day and year.

### 3/5 — Almost perfect

*2023-12-12, version 1.4.4*

Needs a way to edit the quantity and connect to Apple health app.
Gives good info on choosing food.

### 3/5 — Portion control

*2023-07-22, version 1.4.4*

I love the concept as I was just recently put on a low potassium diet and have to also count carbs with insulin use as a diabetic . It would be perfect if I had the ability to adjust portion to match what I actually consume. This would put some of my foods in that desired green area!

### 3/5 — Kidney Crushers

*2023-06-15, version 1.4.4*

Potassium and Sodium are only two of the key ingredients to watch out for on a renal or CKD diet. The other two Phosphorus and Sugar/Carbs should also be closely monitored and therefore should be added to this app to make it both a convenient and outstanding app tool.

### 3/5 — Inconsistent

*2021-09-04, version 1.4.4*

I notice that some of the same items populate with different recommendations. Example: tuna. One brand came up with yellow/orange and another (exact same label reading) was green. Saw this with beverage as well propel berry is listed as green and red. Really makes it hard to discern which is accurate, especially when learning the new lifestyle.

### 3/5 — Almost great

*2021-08-08, version 1.4.4*

Agree with another reviewer: this app would be perfect except for too many items that are “green” only because there’s no info reported, and there’s no way to edit items by hand, which would be a way to get around that problem.
