Great macro extension

I had been trying to find something to give me extended media controls since my keyboard no longer has dedicated buttons (the F keys are awful for this). Some of the hardware macro keyboards seem to have sketchy software drivers, and streamdeck equipment was a bit overkill. This filled the niche quite well so far in my first evening using it! Running with Linux Mint and an iPhone 11.

Works well so far.

I’m not the most advanced Deck user out there but the things I use the app for work just fine for me as of time of writing. I’m on Bazzite Linux, too, using their official AppImage build and it works fine on my rig. It’s quick, easy to set up, and has some decent customization for the free aspects of the app.

Cant test! Too many ads!

I understand this is a demo of the paid app. But the ads are so constant and so intrusive that I just cannot test the functionality.

Linux support

Works for Windows 10 and iPhone 11. Didn't work with ArchLinux (EndeavourOS) and iPhone 11. I had hope.

Very useful. Poor-nerd’s Streamdeck

I don’t know where this application has been all my life. Once I started playing with it I found all kinds of uses: volume up/down, mute, play/pause, launch different browsers, mute Zoom’s mic, etc. USB connectivity would be nice but I’ve had no problems with WiFi.
I would give it 5 stars but it needs a new things:

* Most importantly, a working Quit command. As of v2.1.4 you have to kill the app with a terminal command (hint: “killall Deckboard”) because Quit (or CMD-Q) won’t fully exit. This blocks reboot or shutdown. You can also close it with “Force Quit” in the Apple menu. I created a Deckboard button for that purpose. (Grim, I know.)
* Swipe between boards.
* App-awareness so it can fire a different macro depending on which application has focus. E.g.: Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc have different shortcuts for “mute” so I’d like one button to handle all of them. For now I have Deckboard call Hammerspoon which does the app awareness but that’s clumsy.

All of that said it’s well worth the time and effort to download and set up. I’ll be happy to buy the Pro version once the Quit issue is solved.
