## What is DeckBoardAR?

Before the first pier goes in the ground, this app counts the whole deck for you: piers, posts, beams, joists, boards and screws, in one material list to take to the lumber yard. Tap the corners in AR or type the dimensions.

A deck is more than its boards. Footings, posts, beams and joists make up most of the shopping list, and the board count changes with how you lay them. This app works out all of it from your shape and spacings.

TWO WAYS TO SET THE SHAPE
- Measure in AR: tap the corners in your yard and the edges snap square
- Or type the dimensions: rectangle, L-shape or your own polygon
- No AR device needed: everything works from typed numbers

THE WHOLE FRAME, NOT JUST THE BOARDS
- Piers and posts, counted under every beam
- Beams and joists at the spacing you choose
- Post height and the size of every member
- A section drawing showing how the layers stack up

BOARDS THE WAY YOU'LL LAY THEM
- Aligned joints, or staggered one row at a time
- The board count changes with the pattern
- Board size, length, gap and waste allowance are all editable

ONE MATERIAL LIST
- Every member with its size and quantity in a single table
- Screws by count and by box
- Save each deck and re-run it with different specs

GOOD FOR
- Planning a backyard deck, patio or porch before buying lumber
- Comparing joist spacings and board layouts
- Taking a clear shopping list to the lumber yard

Quantities are estimates: check the key edges with a tape measure, and AR readings can vary with lighting and surfaces. The app counts materials; it does not judge whether your spacing or sizes are strong enough. Follow your local building code and the material maker's instructions.
