Also the global heat map is extremely difficult to see. ### 2/5 — Battery eater *2025-10-06* This app is nice but it eats up a full batter in a couple hours. Not worth running it. Can you make these bigger, and not just a couple of pixels, I’m talking like x10? **Developer response:** Hi there! What the? ### 3/5 — Unstable logs & annoying login *2024-02-25, version 4.1.3* This app used to be very good. Finding the free version keeps asking for email address to authorise login. Trips also freeze and jumps making logs not correct. My yacht cannot do 273Knots speed! ### 5/5 — Excellent app! *2024-01-23* This app is a game changer! Thanks for the 5 star review! ### 5/5 — Feature Request *2023-10-01* For the Western Australian Users Add a 400 meter buffer around Rottnest island and the Western Australian coastline to signify the crossover point between protected and unprotected waters. Ideally this would be done in the same fashion as the 8 knot speed area along the WA coast Other than that love the app **Developer response:** Thanks for the handy feedback! We're pleased to say that we now have all regulatory water bodies (including protected and unprotected waters) for Western Australia added into the app. ### 3/5 — Was good *2023-05-17* The new location feature, I think, should be optional as it requires both always on location setting plus background refresh. This will chomp through a battery much more quickly as well as spooking a while range of people :) Great on a Tablet or similar device with an external power source **Developer response:** Hi Parso_rex, thanks for the feedback on our on-water detection setting, which requires background location access to work. This unique DECKEE feature automatically completes important safety actions for you when you go onto the water so you don't forget, like notifying your safety contacts, sharing your location with friends or family, and logging your activities. We spend a lot of time ensuring there is minimal battery impact for your device! ### 5/5 — Best app for boating and fishing I have ever seen. *2023-05-03* This is a must have app if you are into any activity on the water , it has so many features that I use for not only boating and fishing but also for work and when planning trips to new regions . Thanks for the 5 star review. ### 3/5 — Needs simplified Log in *2023-03-03* As we know batteries can go flat, then we need to recharge and log in again. My big concern is to sign in you need to go to an email, which is good if you have cell or wifi. To be able to log in using a password, finger print or facial recognition system would make life easier and safer when out of cell/wifi coverage. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback about our login process. It’s an awesome app with all your boating needs in one place, trip logging is handy, weather and safety data is great. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Maps outdated *2025-02-20, version 4.1.3* Maps many years out of date so pretty useless. Eg Nth Bribie Island still shown without passage. ### 1/5 — Deceptive- Not free *2025-01-11* Made sure this “free” app didn’t show “In app purchases” in the description. After downloading, guess what? To use any of the interesting features, it requires in-app purchases of $60/yr. There are better apps c-map, Garmin, Navionics’s, for less **Developer response:** Hey Steve, the majority of DECKEE's features are completely free to use, forever. Thanks for checking out the app. ### 1/5 — Cannot delete *2024-10-31* Downloaded the app and prompt to pay a fee.. so I decided to delete my account which for some reason it’s impossible. It asked you to put your email address in again. BUT comes up with an error I have tried the number of times even tried to press Support but do not get anywhere.. would not recommend this at all.. ### 1/5 — Wants too much personal information *2024-10-12, version 4.1.3* It really feels like a data harvesting system with a boating app attached. The amount of information they want to create an account more than I’m comfortable giving out to a random app. I don’t trust their motives, so it’s a no from me. ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2024-03-20* Its not even updated daily. I can’t click continue when it asks to create username 🤷‍♀️ ### 1/5 — Nag messages every 10 seconds *2023-06-01* I downloaded this app to evaluate it against Navionics and Savvy Navvy. I cannot tell you how it performs against them - perhaps it is awesome. I don’t know. On initial startup, it asked if I wanted to share location always or only while using the app. As I am evaluating it, I do not want to give it access to my location always. After this, I get nag messages telling me that it cannot provide background navigation services without allowing “always on” location access. This I get every 3-10 seconds. No joke. It renders the application unusable to me. Sorry team. Deleting the app. ### 1/5 — Background location always?? Why?? *2023-05-19, version 3.1.0* Get rid of the constant pop ups asking to creepily track me when I’m not on the app. ### 1/5 — Can't figure it out *2022-09-03* Forces you to login and forces you to run the app in the background always. Can't figure out how to measure distances as you cannot pull to adjust the from and to points. Can't add markers for planning without making them public. Trying to plan to an existing marker doesn't work. UI is unfathomable re planning. The Go feature recording a trip seems to work. ### 1/5 — Useless in Darwin *2022-08-26, version 2.12* This app uses mapbox images, unfortunately Darwin is covered in cloud so can't use it here and no option to switch chart service.
