## What is Deckloud?

Deckloud is the native iPhone app for Nextcloud Deck. Open your existing boards with direct sync to your own server, no relay, no ad tracking, and reliable offline queueing.

A separate Mac companion is available from deckloud.com for desktop board work.

Built for existing Nextcloud Deck users
Connect with Nextcloud Login Flow v2 and open the boards you already have. Nothing sits between your app and your server. Any compatible Nextcloud account can sign in. No invitation or company affiliation required.

Everything you need on mobile
• Create and organize boards, stacks, and cards
• Set due dates, labels, assignees, and reminders
• Add comments, Markdown descriptions, and attachments
• Search boards and cards with advanced filters

Private by design
Credentials stay in iOS Keychain. Board and card content stays on your own Nextcloud infrastructure. No ad SDKs, no relay backend, and only privacy-limited product diagnostics.

Reliable sync with offline resilience
Write actions queue when connectivity drops and replay when you are back online. Monitor queue health and retry from Settings.

Deckloud Pro (one-time purchase)
• Quick Capture targets, templates, due offsets, labels, assignees, and context
• Due reminders that open the card or Today queue
• Repeat templates that create the next card when Deckloud opens
• Timed Focus sessions and rich iOS widgets with card titles and deep links

Requirements
• Nextcloud server with Deck app installed
• Nextcloud 20+ recommended

Deckloud is an independent client and is not affiliated with Nextcloud GmbH.

### 4/5 — App is really vibe coded

*2026-08-05*

I see some features that a real dev would think about that someone with not that much experience and an AI missed, good app overall tho.

Focus on hold to action gestures.
Current design is too generic and doesn’t work for this kind of app (generic means Claude frontend-skill uses this type of design every time it prompted)

Add widgets.

It okay to add pro features for an open source eco-system but actually make it worth it (ex: live dictation with an ai that creates all the decks and items automatically) not just an alarm feature which I can easily go without

**Developer response:** Thanks for the direct feedback. The long-press actions and parts of the interface need more deliberate work. Widgets are already available from the iOS widget gallery, including a free small widget, so I need to make them easier to find. Pro also includes Quick Capture, repeat templates, Focus sessions, extra accounts, reminders, and larger widgets. I hear your point that its value must be clearer and stronger. The AI dictation idea is useful, but I will not promise it before it is ready.

### 4/5 — Great so far!

*2026-07-17*

Really enjoying seeing the app develop over time. There are still a few bugs, like not being able to back out of a card after it’s been edited sometimes. But, bugs like these seem to be addressed relatively quickly.

I’m also happy to see that the core functionality remains intact and isn’t behind a premium subscription. Hoping it stays that way 🤞

**Developer response:** Thanks for sticking with Deckloud! Markdown rendering in card descriptions (including checklists) is back as of version 1.3.5, released June 8 — your review likely landed a day before the update. Update the app and your checklists should render again. If anything still looks off, please report it at github.com/hweihwang/nextcloud-deck-desktop-releases/issues and we'll fix it fast.

### 4/5 — Promising 😎

*2026-06-07*

Really enjoying seeing the app develop over time. One big gripe is they removed markdown rendering in the card descriptions. That’s a bit of a dealbreaker for me because I often use checklists in mine.

### 4/5 — Dark mode needs tweaking

*2026-05-27*

(I’m not using the pro version) So far, everything about the app works well. The UI is friendly and connecting to Nextcloud was actually fairly easy. I’m holding out hope for a decks app in the future, but until then this is a lovely replacement. The only downside I have is that sometimes text isn’t visible in dark mode for the homepage. So far it’s fixed itself, but I figured it was good to point out in case it’s a recurring issue.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the detailed review! The dark-mode contrast issues you describe are on our fix list — 1.3.5 already hardened several card-detail and board-header layouts, and remaining dark-mode text bugs are being tracked. If you spot a specific screen where text disappears, a screenshot at github.com/hweihwang/nextcloud-deck-desktop-releases/issues helps us nail it.

### 3/5 — No widget, nice app

*2026-04-17*

The pro subscription says there’s a widget for this app, but there isn’t. So, besides the pro subscription this app is great. Works well, just no reason to pay when the service isn’t available.

**Developer response:** Thanks for calling this out. Widgets are now live: refresh widget data in Settings > Widgets & Shortcuts, then add Deckloud Home or Lock Screen widgets in iOS. Free widgets show counts; Pro unlocks card titles, due times, and deep links.
