## What is Deckmere Flashcards?

Deckmere is a flashcard app for your own study material. Bring it in from Anki, a spreadsheet or your notes, review it with FSRS spaced repetition, and check the answers you feel sure about. Buy once for the authoring tools. No subscription or account.

BRING YOUR MATERIAL
• Import Anki packages (.apkg and .colpkg, older and current exports) with formatting, tags, subdecks, images and audio. Basic, reversed and cloze notes come across; anything Deckmere cannot show is named before you import.
• Keep your Anki progress or start fresh, your choice. Importing the same deck again updates what changed and keeps your own edits.
• Import CSV or TSV files and pasted two-column lists, with a preview of the real cards before anything is saved.
• Write cards yourself, or try the sample deck.
• Every deck gets a picture that follows its name, or one you choose.

REVIEW WITH FSRS
• Today shows what is due, a short session of ten cards or a few minutes, and a clear rest when nothing is due.
• Reveal the answer, then choose Again, Hard, Good or Easy and see each next interval before you choose.
• Undo the last grade. Hear a side read aloud with your device's voices in the deck's language.

CHECK WHAT YOU ARE SURE ABOUT
• A self-check takes up to 10 cards: type an answer and choose your confidence before you see the card.
• Mark your answers yourself and retry the mistakes, confident ones first. Your FSRS schedule is not changed.

YOUR DATA, YOUR FILES
• Back up everything to one file and restore it on your iPhone or iPad. Restoring only adds what is missing.
• Export to Anki, or export card text as CSV or TSV.
• Your library stays on your device and can sync between your Apple devices through your own iCloud.

FREE, AND PRO ONCE
• Free, with no cap and no time limit: cards and decks, review, the self-check, import, export and backup, and five generated cards a day.
• Pro: add images, audio, cloze and image occlusion; make cards from PDF pages and photos; keep a saved mistake list and self-check history; plan toward a goal date; edit many cards at once; draft cards without a daily limit.
• Card drafting runs on your device, with Apple's on-device model where available and a rules-based helper elsewhere. The screen says which one drafted.
• One purchase, Family Sharing included. Restore Purchases restores it with the store account used to buy it; purchases on Apple and Google are separate.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-04

A clearer start and easier navigation.

• Illustrations: New artwork welcomes you and explains empty screens.
• Accessibility: Spoken study counts use the correct singular and plural. Delete buttons name the card or deck.
• What's new: Read update notes in Settings on both platforms.
• Backups: New exports use the .deckmere extension. You can still import older backups.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-29

Cardpile now opens on Today, with Library and Create beside it, and studying is free without a card limit.

• Anki import with pictures and progress: Older and current Anki packages arrive with images, audio, cloze cards and tags, and you choose whether to keep your progress.
• Spreadsheets and pasted lists: Import CSV, TSV or two columns you paste, with a preview of the real cards before anything is saved.
• One backup file for everything: Back up every deck, card, image and recording, and restore it on your iPhone or iPad.
• A picture for every deck: Each deck gets an illustration that follows its name, or one you pick in the deck's settings.
• Undo, short sessions and read aloud: Undo the last grade, study ten cards or a few minutes, and hear a card read in its language.
• Free to study, Pro once: Study, import, export and back up for free. Pro adds images, audio, cloze, PDFs and photos. If you bought Cardpile, you have Pro.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-14

Choose when to study ahead, with a clear resting point when nothing is due. Start your first deck directly from Study. Rename decks, filter due cards and export card text as CSV. Review intervals use the correct units at rounding boundaries. Legacy Anki import messages explain that scheduling starts again.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-29

Cardpile can now remind you when cards are due. Turn it on in Settings, pick a time, and you get one notification a day on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there is no reminder on a day with nothing to review.

Cards you generate from your notes now hide the answer instead of the longest word. A line like "The capital of Spain is Madrid" becomes a card that asks you for Madrid.

The study card is larger on bigger screens, so a question and its answer have room to breathe instead of sitting in a thin band.

On iPad, the selected deck in the sidebar is properly legible: its name, card count and progress bar no longer wash out against the highlight.

### 1.0.0 — 2026-08-26
