## What is DeckPilot?

Made for people who care about how they work with their Mac.

You know how the keyboard, mouse, and trackpad shape the way you reach into your Mac? Turns out there's another way. DeckPilot turns your iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch into custom button decks that follow whichever app you're in. Logic, Xcode, Figma, Slack: the right buttons are always under your thumb.

Quick to set up

Install on your Mac and iPhone, connect once over Wi-Fi or USB. Auto-reconnects the way AirDrop does. No hardware to buy.

Buttons for everything

Tap to open Figma. Tap to mute Zoom. Tap to fire a 5-step macro. Tap to start your morning playlist. Build them from apps, files, websites, keyboard shortcuts, AppleScript, or Apple Shortcuts, and chain anything together in a visual macro builder. 300,000+ icons, or bring your own.

One button, more than one move

Tap for one thing, double-tap for another, hold for a third. Or hold to pop open a whole submenu of buttons from a single tile. One button can run your whole flow.

Buttons you can feel

Every press lands with a real mechanical click and a tactile thump. Pick the feel that suits you, from a crisp keyboard to a soft, heavy thock, with sound and haptics you can tune separately.

Every workflow its own look

A teal gradient and big icons for your DAW. A tight grid with greyscale icons for your code editor. Pick from the community gallery or design your own. Logic feels like Logic, Xcode like Xcode. Your Touch Bar even matches what's on screen.

Buttons that already know

A red mic pill on your Zoom button when you're muted. A live waveform on Spotify when it's playing. A small jiggle on Slack when a new DM lands. You stop checking your Mac, because the buttons already know.

Keep your favorites close

Pin the decks you live in and they stay a swipe away, whatever app you're in.

Trackpad gestures you know

Two fingers down to minimize the app you're in. Two fingers up to maximize. Three fingers across to switch spaces. Or bind any swipe to almost anything: Apple Shortcuts, AppleScript, macros, jumping decks.

Touch Bar, reborn

Apple's Touch Bar is gone. DeckPilot brings it back as a floating glass strip on your phone. Volume, brightness, media, mic mute, and a clock, colored to match each deck.

Widgets on every screen

Home Screen widgets put your top buttons one tap from anywhere. The Lock Screen widget shows your active deck without unlocking, and joins iOS 17+ StandBy mode when your iPhone's on a charger, so your bedside table becomes a quiet Mac dashboard.

On your wrist, too

A dedicated Apple Watch deck with multiple pages and real app icons. Digital Crown for volume and brightness. Complications for one-tap Mute and Play/Pause right from your watch face.

Built-in MIDI for any DAW

Faders, knobs, XY pads, velocity pads, and transport for Logic Pro, GarageBand, Ableton Live, FL Studio, and anything that speaks MIDI.

Also good

- Built-in AppleScript editor with ten dark themes
- Auto-lock and OLED-safe auto-dim after a short idle
- Share .deckpacks with friends, browse community templates, try Demo Mode without pairing
- Privacy-first. Commands stay on your Wi-Fi, nothing leaves your network

Made for developers, designers, streamers, musicians, and anyone who'd like a faster way to drive their Mac.

To unlock the full kit, DeckPilot offers an optional Pro subscription. Pro: $7.99/month or $39/year, auto-renewable. Lifetime: $79 one-time. Pro adds multi-page decks, larger grids, MIDI, macros, AppleScript, app-aware switching, multi-launch buttons, advanced gestures, Apple Watch, per-deck themes, and Shortcuts.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.

### 5/5 — Forget a Stream Deck

*2026-05-13*

Loving this utility even more than I imagined I would. Big thanks for such a great app.

### 5/5 — Great Productivity Booster

*2026-05-11*

As someone who uses a Macbook Pro for work, this app has been a gamechanger. I loved the features it offered, to be able to essentially have a stream deck without having to buy a whole new device. Because I enjoyed using it so much, I decided to purchase the Lifetime subscription and I use it every day, whether I’m at my desk or sitting elsewhere, I’ve always got it pulled up on my phone to use it! Highly highly recommend checking it out for yourself!

### 5/5 — The PERFECT Companion

*2026-05-07*

I can’t begin to explain how great this app is. It’s snappy, responsive, super customizable, and for me - a person with a few 3D Printers and an entire ecosystem of iOS and MacOS devices, it’s a Godsend.

Being able to use this with my decommissioned and unused iPhones helps give them purpose, slows me to control elements with a single finger, which GREATLY increases my productivity during heavy projects for work or with clients.

10/10 - HIGHLY recommended. So much so, that I got the Free Trial, and immediately bought the Annual Subscription. Well worth it!!!

**Developer response:** Thank you, this made my day. The 3D printer use case is one I had not heard before, and I love that the decommissioned iPhones are getting a second life as control surfaces. That is exactly the kind of thing I built this for. Thank you for going from trial to annual on the same day. If you ever want to share what your printer deck looks like or have feature requests, my inbox is open at hello@deckpilot.co.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-06-04

One button can do a lot more now.

More in every button
Tap for one thing, double-tap for another, hold for a third. Or hold to pop open a whole submenu of buttons from a single tile. One button can run your whole flow.

Buttons you can feel
Every press now lands with a real mechanical click and a tactile thump. Four feels to pick from, from a crisp keyboard to a soft, heavy thock, with sound and haptics you can tune separately.

Keep your favorites close
Pin the decks you live in. Multiple pinned decks stay a swipe away, whatever app you're in.

A cleaner way around
Switch decks, Macs, and settings from one slide-in side menu instead of the top bar. Little badges show which buttons hide a double-tap or long-press, so you remember what's where.

Your deck also locks itself after a while idle, so a glance at your phone never fires a button by accident.

Plus steadier reconnection and a smoother feel throughout.

Requires DeckPilot for Mac 1.3 or later. Open DeckPilot on your Mac and choose Check for Updates to get it.

### 1.2 — 2026-05-07

Per-deck themes are here. Make every deck feel like its own app.

• Custom background gradients on every deck.
• Background images per deck.
• Icon style filters per deck: greyscale, invert, sepia, and more.
• Custom accent colors, or let DeckPilot auto-derive one from your gradient or background.
• Per-deck glass opacity, grid density, and Touch Bar styling. Decks can feel completely different from each other.

App-aware deck switching now feels like switching apps. Logic looks like Logic, Xcode looks like Xcode, Slack looks like Slack.

Requires DeckPilot Mac (v 1.2.5+)

### 1.0.2 — 2026-03-24

Smarter, faster, more responsive.

  • Buttons now respond instantly — even when the screen has dimmed. No more double-tapping.
  • Stay in the loop with optional notifications when your Mac is ready to connect.
  • Redesigned deck picker — see all your decks at a glance, switch with one tap.
  • New "Edit on Mac" button — open the deck editor on your Mac right from your iPhone.
  • Performance and stability improvements.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-03-22

Deck Picker Redesign
  • New deck picker pill shows your current deck name — tap to switch
  • Edit on Mac — tap Edit to open the deck editor on your Mac instantly
  • Recent Apps count picker — choose how many apps to show (6, 8, 12, 16, 20)
  • Renamed: Layouts → Decks, Context Switching → App-Aware, Pro Actions
  • Pro users no longer see free locks briefly on launch
