### 5/5 — Amazing App Do not Give up

*2026-05-05*

This is an amazing app; I am a research scientist and an assistant professor who does not like to carry my heavy MacBook Pro 16 around and this makes my life ten times easier by writing technical slides for classes;

### 5/5 — Fabulous App

*2026-04-22*

I more or less just rediscovered this app. I worked with it years ago but it was still maturing then. Since that time it has become really fabulous. Protip: look for the AI Slide Builder Skill on his website and throw that into your LLM. Then you can query how to do different things. But either way, this app is perfect for quick presentations where you don’t want to spend time tweaking details in a GUI.

### 5/5 — Deckset for Mac is great and …

*2025-08-15, version 1.0.25*

… Deckset for iPad is great too!
I was very pleased with the news that a one-time payment license is now also offered for the Deckset for iPad. I did not hesitate to accept this offer. Many thanks to the developer!

### 5/5 — So great

*2025-08-14, version 1.0.25*

I’ve always loved Deckset. Such a great idea. Writing presentations in plain text is civilisation.

### 2/5 — Why Subscription?

*2025-04-03*

I have loved Deckset for Mac and wanted and iOS version so badly. I was so excited when it got released only to see that it’s a subscription. I don’t do presentations enough to justify a subscription. A one off purchase to view or practice my presentations would be amazing. I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

**Developer response:** Your heartbeat wish has been granted ❤️ We’ve just introduced a lifetime purchase option for Deckset on iOS. No subscription needed — enjoy viewing and practicing your presentations anytime.

### 5/5 — Absolutely amazing companion or standalone

*2024-11-23, version 1.0.18*

I‘ve loved Deckset since so many years and the missing peace was an iOS app! I also love the built in Editor! A must-have!

### 1/5 — Crashed…

*2024-09-25, version 1.0.15*

Just started a trial period. Tried to open an existing Deckset file, created from a Mac — failed to open it. Tried to create a new project, crashed… My trial is not going well, to say the least…

### 1/5 — How to reach support?

*2024-06-25*

Cannot find a way to reach support and the app will not let you create a file or subscribe. No reviews after 4 years? Looks like a great app though.

**Developer response:** Hey there,

Please shoot us an email to support@deckset.com, we’ll look into it!

Ps. This option should also be available from app settings

### 1/5 — Questionable Business Model

*2024-03-15, version 1.0.1*

I bought DeckSet for the Mac back then. As a one-time purchase.
The fact that I now
1. have to pay again for the iPhone application,
2. this is only possible with a subscription
3. the subscription is also quite expensive, I find unwise and greedy , considering that it is actually just a wrapper for Markdown. What a pity. I really like the program on the Mac and I'm always willing to pay money for good software. But I think what is being asked for here is simply too much.

### 2/5 — Too little too late

*2024-03-14, version 1.0.1*

There was a time I’d use this all the time. It should’ve been on iPad pretty much from day one.

Now it’s kinda outdated in my opinion and just too late to the party.

To be clear it’d be worth it as a free product (and I’m generally a huge supporter for paid apps, devs need to be paid). But I can’t see the value (even just 20 a year) in a product I felt was otherwise abandoned.

Now it’s finally on iOS but is it worth it? Not in my opinion.

Add some presentation features with  pencil,  Watch or even a dedicated  TV app — then it wouldn’t just be a too-late-to-the-party money grab.

Best of luck regardless. But I won’t be a user.
