The controls let you create almost unlimited effects. The developer cares about the product, and it shows. Get it! ### 5/5 — Awesome *2013-09-04, version 1.8.1* An app I didn't think I needed. A worthy photo application. Not a variation of other photo apps, but unique and original. I've tried about 50 photo apps in the 6 months I've had an iPod and I can say of the fifty I have tried, I've only kept 10, and "Deco Sketch" is on that list. ### 5/5 — Unique App, Creative and Fun *2013-09-04, version 1.8.1* Super creative app. Like all useful tools it has a small learning curve but with the helpful tips and intuitive interface I was up and deco-drawin' in no time. Really smart and inspiring app that is fun to use and creates beautiful works of art. Completely unique from anything else out there. This app is a fun-filled, one-of-a-kind playground for mobile photo editors. It's worth the effort to understand the amazingly broad variety of manipulations possible for each of the shapes and patterns available. ### 5/5 — Very cool app *2013-04-13, version 1.8.1* This is a really cool app. If you want to make your pictures look awesome use this app. Other apps like instagram only use a filter like "black and white" or " vintage" but in this on you can actually edit then creatively with whatever you want. Some things that bothered me is how the randomness of the preset patterns cool, but sometimes you get that one line that will cross out the picture. Another thing is that it's a little difficult to erase things, should be a brush to erase. ( maybe there is I just don't know how to use it fully yet). And lastly, iPods/iPhones can't take very good photos so its hard to make cool landscape photos or whatever look cool when the picture itself is not good. I imported a cloudscape I painted, added some deco touches and sent back to my art app. It adds a definite flair to my app mashing. Read the instructions. I have all the apps I needed to make my graphics look it's best. It includes many impressive features and provides some unique tools. It is user friendly, allowing you to jump right in and and create. It even provides a wide selection of preset color themes. Several bugs within the first 10 minutes. 3.99 is far too much money to walk into that. Bugs within the undo, color choosing, saving features and sometimes it won't register to the brushstroke at all. I've had to reload photos and restart the program multiple times. Could benefit from unlimited undo, 'revert' image features. ### 2/5 — Disgraceful *2023-10-07* I don’t even remember if I paid anything for this app because I downloaded it during an downloading spree. Regardless of that, this app isn’t worth a moment of your consideration or time. It is completely broken on my IPhone 13 and iOS 17. You get one shot at uploading a photo and that’a the project that remains forever. The brush response is like flipping a coin and when it works, you only get a generic yelllow marker looking result, not the design you may have thought you picked, but really didn’t. It’s trash. It shouldn’t even be in this App Store even if it IS free. ### 2/5 — Really? Is it that hard? *2018-06-13, version 1.8.2* Is it that hard to make an app design that makes logical sense. That doesn’t leave the user scratching his head and then ultimately force quitting the app so that they can start over again. Now it’s the third try though and it’s fickle world so this user abandons the app and heads over to the complaint booth to hopefully persuade the author of this app to invest some excessive time in user testing. And not with his wife and 12 year old son and then calling it a successful day. Rather finding grandma and grandpa or at least a dozen random people at a local tech meetup to see if they get stuck. Making a highly usable app takes work but the research will guide you at every step. ### 3/5 — 5 star if it were full resolution *2012-06-04, version 1.5* Fascinating app and it would be 5 stars if you could save images at full resolution on my iPhone 4s. I want to use the wonderful results with photo images, not just make iPhone wallpaper. This would be a great source for creating very artistic images. Please give us high res capability! ### 4/5 — Great app but badly needs to be updated *2022-01-13, version 1.9* I love using this app. It was my go-to after Tangent and now Fragment were essentially abandoned by their developers. Given how long this app has gone without an update I can’t help but think that this app will eventually suffer the same fate. As great as the app is, the ability to save a current project and start a new one would be amazing, as well as getting rid of the undo the limit. Not holding out hope for these changes though. What a shame. ### 4/5 — Love the app. *2017-09-09, version 1.8.2* One issue. Whatever yu you all did the I CV obs to choose between brushes etc are now as small as a pin head. Maybe for iPad they are bigger but on a 7splus they are way too small in my opinion. **Developer response:** Thanks for noting the UI bug on the plus size phones. Sorry about that. Think free form line and then paint bucket like photoshop! A randomize feature would be beyond cool. Inspiration sometimes comes from doodling or seeing something already started etc. This feature for me would be totally worth the $6 we paid. Fractal incorporation would be AMAZING too. Download and play with the flamelet app. Lastly, we need a save option to save current project. Only way now is to export the image...I sometimes work on art projects for days. Great job, keep up the fantastic work! ### 5/5 — My search ended here *2018-06-15, version 1.8.2* I had a serious craving for a doodling painting app with dynamic, gesture-sensitive geometric brushes that themselves were craving to take on a life of their own, with layering depth, with flowing or fully obedient color, with modulated opacity and thickness, with beautiful thin connecting lines, with chaos as orderly as my mood, or with order as random as I like, and with high enough resolution to create detail that invites exploration and deep zooming by the viewer. It was very good. But now that it’s been updated it’s absolutely beyond fabulous. It has brushes in various geometric shapes. You can use them as is or you can open the brush engine and set up the brushes as you wish. Spacing, opacity, on and on. Amazing and quite sophisticated. The app was made by one of the people from Pixite. They make only quality apps and that quality shows here, as well as the brilliant creativity. Bravo! Well worth the money! Although some of the brushes can be found in similar form in other apps, many are unique to DS, and none bring to the table anything like its geometric variety and versatility. Paint from scratch or add effects to an existing image. Brilliant! My only quibble is I'm puzzled by why "redo" sits above "undo," in reverse of the standard alignment.
