The words on each page are way too small for a child to read or tap to have it narrated. I have trouble reading such tiny words and I have 20/20 vision. When they do manage to tap the word, the narrated voice which sounds the word out is SO quiet you can hardly hear it even on full volume. However when you tap to have the word read out (not sounded out) the voice is loud. I regret buying this. Hopefully they fix these common issues but I doubt it, as now I’ve read that others have complained about this for years to no avail. Disappointing. ### 3/5 — Great idea but font too small *2021-05-31* This is a fantastic idea at such a small price compared to the price of the books. The only issue is the words are too small for the kids to be able to read. A couple sizes bigger and this would be a fantastic app. Will change the review when the font is changed. ### 3/5 — Miss *2020-04-19* Written words too small for mobile. So if mobile is your only option don't bother with this app. App not available to download to PC/laptop (only available for ipad or mobile). What a shame otherwise would have been a good resource. ### 3/5 — Sounds not pronounced correctly *2019-06-23* Looked like a great app as I wanted some decodable readers for my daughter to practice at home. I was very disappointed to see that the unvoiced sounds p and t are pronounced as ‘puh’ and ‘tuh’ throughout the books. Even the p sound is wrong in the list of sounds section. Considering the price of the app this should be fixed. They are unvoiced sounds so should be short sounds with no voice used! ### 5/5 — Homeschooling *2020-06-11* I homeschool and teach my kids using jolly phonics. I have all the jolly phonic readers, but wanted to start reading with them as soon as they learnt the first group of sounds to reinforce what they learnt. These books follow the jolly phonics stages or phonic sound groups. I wish I could afford the paper copies but this works just as well. ### 5/5 — Excellent Resource *2020-06-09* Thankyou so much for developing a well thought out resource! My child loves reading these books. He associates with the characters well and the pre and post teaching is so easy to execute! ### 5/5 — Awesome *2020-06-04* It is so great to have access to these books via an app! It works well and is worth the money (I have 4 kids so it will get used well!). My son loves reading them. We read the first 4 and did the questions in one night! He just wanted to keep going :) ### 5/5 — Minor Issues *2019-04-28* Great App - some minor bugs causes pages to disappear, some words don’t get read out and long sentences are cut off. Really enjoying the ease of access just a few small issues to make the app perfect. ### 5/5 — Fantastic app *2018-11-04* App Works well and is a great cheaper alternative to trying these books before purchasing the hard copy books. I have been using for my 4 and 6 year old and can already see an improvement in their pre reading and reading skills.
