### 2/5 — Good but crashes

*2024-02-11*

I really liked the overall interface and the auto settings are much appreciated and resulted in some nice pics and videos. However I am averaging a crash every 3 out of 5 dives or so (and lately more like every dive). Take a pic or video and then whoops - the app crashes and you are stuck on the Home Screen with no ability to take pics for the rest of the dive.

### 2/5 — Only option for Kraken housing and 48 MP iP 14 pro …

*2023-07-16*

That’s the only reason I am giving this 2 stars, otherwise it would be one star.

Why is the camera preview so small?

Why doesn’t the Macro mode of the iPhone 14 work? Should auto switch to macro when focus gets to close for main lens (when in 12MP mode).

+/- physical buttons should be used for focus and other adjustments as well as zoom.

Needs value indicators for focus. I have no idea if I am focused as close as possible, as far, or how far between. I think the same is true for all adjustments, need more than just a +/- button with no feedback.

And there is no exposure adjust!!!!! There is only auto or exposure lock, no “auto but a bit darker or lighter” setting? Big oversight!

Should have option to save as raw and jpeg, like SeaLife app does.

No instructions that I could find in app or elsewhere.

On the plus side, it does connect quickly.

### 1/5 — Hate new interface

*2023-02-10, version 3.00*

This app was awesome and then they changed the interface. Not very intuitive. Please Go back to old interface.

It is especially clumsy when you have to zoom in or zoom out. You have to use the up and down arrows to select zoom in or zoom out, then press ok for each zoom increment. It would be helpful to change at least this screen back so the up arrow is for zoom in and down arrow is for zoom out. Maybe have a toggle in the settings to use the current setup or the setup as I have described above.

**Developer response:** Hi, the menu has been changed to be more in sync with buttons on the housing.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2022-10-07, version 2.40*

I used Deep Photo on a dive trip about year ago and worked well. Now the app won’t recognize a Bluetooth connection even through my iPhone does. Installed the Dive+ app instead and everything seems to work fine. The real bummer is I renewed the $20+ subscription for an app that doesn’t even work.

### 1/5 — Image freezes on screen

*2022-09-23, version 2.40*

I have had an image freeze on the screen causing me to have to open the housing and close the app to reset. This is a problem under water obviously and it happens when i am changing the lens options. All the buttons still respond but camera functions are useless because the last image shot is stuck on screen.

### 1/5 — Keeps freezing

*2022-09-07, version 2.40*

Housing is useless if app doesn’t work properly. Keeps freezing with my iPhone 13 pro.

### 3/5 — good when it works, but very buggy

*2022-08-07, version 2.40*

using this with an iphone 13 pro and a kraken KRH05 housing. when it works it’s awesome, but frequently when i’m underwater the preview screen will freeze and i won’t be able to take photos. also, the temperature gauge is wrong and even though my phone is in metric units, the app still shows depth and temperature in fahrenheit and feet.

### 1/5 — Keeps freezing

*2022-07-25, version 2.40*

This app works for a short time, then freezes up with my IPhone 13 pro. It will freeze on the the gallery screen and I can’t get it to go back to photo or video mode.

### 1/5 — Shutter button doesn’t do anything

*2022-06-05, version 2.30*

Kraken Krh06 housing that works when paired with a pixel phone, shutter button in this app is unresponsive.

### 4/5 — Good but some bumps

*2021-12-14, version 2.21*

Edit: dev indicated RAW performance improvements should address lockup and write image performance.
I’m super happy they added the option to skip photo review. The thumb nail is a nice compromise.
App has locked up on me underwater now ios15.1.1 iPhone 13p :(. This is better then the abandonware sea life sport diver and other software companies have dumped out, out least it’s seeing regular updates. Currently shooting on sportdiver housing iPhone 13p. The pressurize and setup is actuary quite a bit snootier and faster then sea life’s proprietary software on the hardware side. I am seeing a reoccurring issue with iOS 15, iPhone 13pro. About every 3rd photo I get a red banner couldn’t write image (or some Verbage like that) across the top and image dose not create. If I restart the app problem seems to go away for a while but obviously that’s no good once in the housing. From a feature perspective: - I would like to be able disable the gallery review. That’s just annoying, it’s much better to just be able to keep shooting. Review is for post dive :). Around here you only get a couple seconds with a subject. - I would like to disable digital zoom entirely or at least lock what macro mode does. Set to only 3x optical zoom for example. Any time you zoom past optical image quality drops dramatically. - I spend WAY to many clicks switching lenses or switching modes. I would prefer to reduce those clicks. Why can’t I set a default preference for always apple raw. Always 4K 60fps or whatever? Why reselect this every time? Who shoots jpeg on a modern device if they don’t have too… - I Find myself constantly toggling between wide and Ultra wide lens because .5 allows for 2mm macro and wide has the 70mm equivalent zoom… this takes way to many clicks. I would like some hold toggles or more configurable defaults to reduce button interactions. - Similar issue with moving between camera and video. It’s way to slow, you get 1 chance to flip a mode when you come up on the octopus and you better not screw if up, time lost on button mashing is frustrating. Add in dry suite gloves for cold water diving hurting punch accuracy… argh! - Mentioned above, but with 13p/m need quick way to toggle macro since auto toggle like in iOS camera app dose not work. But being able to set screen region tight focus is also challenging here given the odd angles for .5 macro. I’m referring to native optical macro not the full zoom mode thing in software now. - capture other meta data, like for kraken/weefine for dive depth, temp time on dive ect. I know it can be written on Jpeg but for raw if could be retained in meta data instead. I’m sure I’m forgetting some stuff both good and bad it’s always really clear when I’m actually on the dive but afterwards it gets a little fuzzier, and there are images to post process… Love to see a road map since it’s reoccurring software license :).

**Developer response:** Hi,
first about the features... the app supports both JPEG and RAW and macro is in full resolution. You can also manually select lens. Panorama mode like in Camera app is currently not available to developers and we don't think Live Photo is a must have feature for underwater use. The focus peeking is a nice suggestion, we will try to add it.
Not sure if you are using SeaLife or Divevolk housing, which we do not support. SeaLife housing works well, please check if maybe other app is currently using bluetooth to connect to housing. There can be only one connection.
And about your "nutty expensive review". The app price is set by developer and probably you do not have any idea how much does it cost to make such an app. There is a free trial period so you can test the app fully and then decide if you want to pay for it or not. But giving it one star review because you think it is expensive...
Best regards
