## What is Deep Stamp?

What stamp is this? Simply take a photo — Stamp Scanner uses AI to identify German stamps and gives you the Michel number, collecting area, and condition in seconds. Completely free, with no account, no ads, and no subscription.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Take a photo of the stamp with your camera or choose an image from your photo library
2. The AI analyzes the image and identifies the stamp
3. View the result: Michel number, region, year of issue, and whether the stamp is unused or cancelled

FEATURES
• Identify more than 4,000 German stamps — from the German Empire to modern Germany
• Condition detection: distinguishes between unused and cancelled stamps
• Catalog details for the identified stamp, including a reference image for comparison
• History: all scanned stamps remain saved on your device

SUPPORTED COLLECTING AREAS

GOOD TO KNOW
Identification is an AI-based estimate. It is fast and continuously improving, but it can occasionally be wrong. It does not replace expert philatelic authentication and does not provide a value estimate. Wrong result? Submit a correction with one tap and help improve the recognition system.

This update scans whole pages — and asks you when it isn't sure.

SCAN A WHOLE PAGE (EXPERIMENTAL)
Photograph an album page or stock card and the app finds every stamp on it — though not yet every one with confidence, which is why the mode is marked experimental. You get a list of what was found, sortable by Mi no. or value, and you can see straight away which stamps belong to a set — "9 of 19, you're missing 45, 46 …". Anything the app can't identify with confidence is shown as a crop: one tap to identify it.

SHEET MARGIN
Does your stamp still carry a piece of sheet margin, or even sit in the corner of the sheet? The app now tells you right below the condition: "Margin copy" or "Corner margin copy". A difference that matters to collectors.

SUGGESTIONS INSTEAD OF GUESSING
If a stamp was misidentified or not recognised at all, the correction screen now shows the most likely alternatives with a reference image. One tap is enough — region and Mi no. are filled in, and the result screen adopts your choice straight away.

BETTER RECOGNITION
A newly trained model knows more stamps and gets them right more often.

SMALL FIXES
The region picker in the feedback form no longer lists any region twice, and a tapped suggestion now reliably sets the region as well.

REAL COMPARISON PHOTOS

For many stamps, you can now view a photo of the actual stamp from our own collection — not just a catalog image. Tap the photo to enlarge it and compare it with your stamp in detail.

SEE THE COMPLETE ISSUE AT A GLANCE

If your stamp belongs to a set, the app also shows a photo of the complete issue together with its catalog number range. You can instantly see where your stamp belongs — and which values are still missing from your collection.

PRICES BY CONDITION

Price estimates now distinguish between unused and cancelled stamps. They are clearly marked as estimates: a useful indication, not an expected selling price. Prices are currently available for an initial part of the catalog, with more stamps being added over time.
