Sometime in the past couple of years the account balance widgets were quietly removed and I can’t understand why you’d remove such a great feature. Can someone tell me why? Works temporarily then doesn’t, have been without access to my bank when I need it. ### 1/5 — Same as the rest of *2026-03-05, version 4.13.3* Rubbish ### 1/5 — Bring back the Quick Balance WIDGET !!! *2026-02-15, version 4.13.2* There is still no Quick Balance Widget after over a year. The Quick Balance tab inside the app is a total waste of time. Once you log in you can see all your account balances anyway. Why bother having another tab that does virtually the same thing. What we want back is the original Quick Balance WIDGET !!! Get rid of that Quick Balance tab, it’s pointless. Other banks have working Quick Balance Widgets (NAB for example) so why can’t Defence Bank too. ### 1/5 — Makes my life harder *2025-12-05, version 4.13.1* In general it’s not a bad app but any description you add when making a payment doesn’t show up on the transaction listing which makes it hard to remember what it was for. Secondly if you need to get a statement and you have multiple accounts, good luck trying to figure out which is which without having to open every single one and see what the account number is. And I have to send a secure message to get an estatement where my other banks I can do it on their apps. So in general, poor functionality. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t support changing apps very well *2025-11-13, version 4.13* When I’m entering data into spreadsheets or trying to copy BSB and account numbers and I swipe up and across to change into another app (google sheets, buddy) it frequently freezes on the splash screen and I have to restart the app or resign in. I don’t know if this is a security feature of a bug but it’s annoying. ### 1/5 — The apps fine, the flexibility is not *2025-01-20, version 4.10.1* If you have more than 1 member number you can only use the app for one member number only, really annoying when you have a business and personal memberships and have to view the accounts through a google viewer for one and the app for the other. ### 1/5 — Quick Balance Screen *2022-12-07* I will admit, I do not see the advantage a new process requiring additional swipes and presses has over a more streamlined older process. The changes now required to check my balance on your Quick Balance screen takes more steps than the old app to get the same info. The most annoying (and stupefying) step is I have to log into my account to update the Quick Balance screen, nullifying the benefits of a Quick Balance screen. To get my latest balance I have to log in! Whoever came up with the idea of replacing a perfectly good system with the current process (probably change for the sake of change) should be sacked. Please go back to the previous app. **Developer response:** Thanks for your review and feedback. We have passed it on to our development team for consideration and hope you are more pleased future versions of the app. ### 2/5 — No messaging in app *2026-05-29, version 4.14* App would be much better if it had messaging, overdue payment alerts and other important notifications. ### 2/5 — Every transaction labeled “high risk”. *2026-04-15, version 4.14* Why is it every time I transfer money I get a warning tell me this transaction has been flagged as high risk? It feels invasive and is unnecessary. It’s my money stop flagging my transactions. Also be mindful of their “fraud prevention” team who seemed to hate the idea of me transferring money from my crypto exchange to then transfer to a legitimate business - which they blocked for 3 days and wouldn’t return my phone calls or emails. Ridiculous. I've always been impressed by the Defence Banking App since its inception due to its very user friendly and easy layout options. Interface updates have introduced improvements that have made the app much more usable. Compared to my other major Bank Apps, the Defence Bank App clearly outperforms all of them in terms of usability and ease of understanding. Some of them feel 'clunky' by comparison to the Defence Bank App. When I've needed to get information or perform larger than normal transfers etc, the Defence Bank Customer Service staff (who I'm happy to say are still located within Australia), have always been very prompt and helpful with my banking financial exchanges and providing me with clear, understandable advice.
