### 4/5 — Notifications

*2026-07-28, version 2.10.3*

Under advanced settings it says notifications are disabled but they are turned on in the app settings and always use location is checked.
Uninstalled and reinstalled - does not resolve.

### 4/5 — Login Troubles

*2026-07-24*

I love the purpose of the app, and there are 3 flock cameras in my city that I want to add to the map. Unfortunately, every time I try to log in through the app nothing happens. It pulls up a white screen and no amount of reloading will fix it. I really want to contribute to the map but I can’t at the moment.

**Developer response:** That's odd - are you using a VPN or anything? Can you load OpenStreetMap.org in a browser normally? Shoot us an email if you continue having trouble - happy to take a look.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-07-21, version 2.10.3*

Best app for deflocking and logging flock cameras. I have logged one in my cozy little neighborhood which sucks but at least others can see where it is. Big thanks to the DeFlock team for making this app to help protect our constitutional rights.

### 4/5 — Possible Optimization?

*2026-07-18*

There is a location I frequent. However in order to avoid flock cameras the amount of miles goes from around 10 to 30 miles just to avoid cameras. But, it’s possible that I have false hope, but it looked like for my specific location, it wasn’t well-optimized, as in the amount of distance could’ve been shortened without interacting with a Flock Camera. If there is a way to resolve this. I’d be very grateful. Regardless, THANK YOU to whoever created this app.

**Developer response:** Check out the FlockHopper app - friends of ours who are doing a much better job with the navigation stuff.

### 5/5 — DeFlock America

*2026-07-18*

This app is extremely accurate and helpful to see the violation of our rights to privacy. All the locations are on point and you can navigate through your city to try to avoid any cameras in your area! Stay safe and DeFlock America!

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2026-07-16, version 2.10.2*

Thank you for giving people a visual representation of this unconstitutional national mass surveillance network

### 5/5 — Apps like this are integral

*2026-07-11*

This app is integral to our safety and security, I appreciate the fact that you can report them in order to get them listed on this map making a real difference, if I remember correctly a town banned the construction of flock cameras, after they left the cameras up anyways and in response the city put bags around them. This app will help us in the event of another town banning them and the same events repeat themselves. Keep yourself informed and be sure to do your part and spread awareness. Many people I talk to don’t even know what flock is and that alone is concerning to me. Talk to your neighbors and family in order to spread the status quo

### 5/5 — 5

*2026-07-10, version 2.10.2*

easy 5/5, striving to protect citizens' privacy

### 5/5 — Nostalgic freedom

*2026-07-02, version 2.10.2*

This app helps bring back the nostalgic freedom we all remember from our childhood. Let’s give our children the same opportunity to live in a free society.

### 5/5 — Only app I update

*2026-06-30, version 2.10.1*

Best app ever - I’m able to avoid all the cams on my ride to work now. Simple app layout and works perfect.

### 5/5 — flock

*2026-06-30, version 2.10.1*

guess I am a anti tech terrorist by having this

### 5/5 — A must have app

*2026-06-28, version 2.10.1*

This App is an essential tool for anyone concerned with their civil liberties and their constitutional rights. Keep up the amazing work.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-06-26, version 2.10.1*

Americans need to stand up for what is right. If the government doesn’t like it, then it’s probably right

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE!!! GOT IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW!!!!!!!

*2026-08-19*

I saw a video on TikTok about this app and that you could see where the flock cameras were around your area. Obviously, I was curious, so I downloaded it and made an account. When I logged in and the map wouldn’t WORK!!! I couldn’t figure out how to see where the flock cameras were around me, so I deleted the app. THEN THE NEXT DAY I GET SCREENSHOTS FROM MY UNCLE (who used to be a police officer) SAYING “*my name* has edited this flock camera.” AND TEXTS FROM THE LAW.

So, apparently, I EDITED the flock camera across from my house somehow??? Mind you, I didn’t even know there was a camera across from my house, SO HOW WOULD I HAVE EDITED IT IF I DIDNT EVEN KNOW IT WAS THERE???

**Developer response:** I can assure you you're not in trouble with the law over this.

Somehow you submitted a node to the map. It's a public database, and you must have signed up to OpenStreetMap with your real name. If you go on our website, you should see the node you created on the map. That's the stated purpose of the app; to make map edits. It's an OpenStreetMap client.

I'm not sure about the map not working - can you describe what you saw? Was it all gray? Were there blue dots?

### 1/5 — Needs tons of improvement

*2026-08-15, version 2.11.0*

The lack of users explains it all. This isn't a user friendly app and is more frustrating than helpful. Try again

### 1/5 — Great idea, borderline unusable

*2026-08-02*

I really want this app to be good but the most important function, directions that avoid Flock cameras simply is unusable. Enter your destination and it automatically tries to start you off from the destination. What? When/if you can finally get it to map a route, there are no turn by turn directions, and the map does not follow you consistently or accurately. On top of that, no car play. I would pay for this app if it worked, it’s. Literally only useful for seeing what cameras are near where you are standing.

**Developer response:** Yeah navigation was not our primary focus; I've been directing people to FlockHopper or DriversAgainstFlock for that. DeFlock's app's main purpose is to make it easy to edit and submit map data. We have basic instructions at deflock.org/app

### 1/5 — Criminal Use

*2026-07-22, version 2.10.3*

Only law enforcement should be able to know the locations of flock cameras this shouldn’t be allowed to the public as the criminals use it to their advantage in getting away with it!

### 1/5 — After trying to report for more than 2 weeks

*2026-06-10, version 2.10.1*

I am deleting this app as generally useless. Whatever the trick is to actually getting a camera reported, I haven’t figured it out and am over trying. The reasoning for the app is excellent. The utility of its use is not so much. Best luck improving.

### 1/5 — Good concept

*2026-01-06, version 2.3.1*

I always strive to be a good citizen, reward = invasion of privacy = no thank you. I prefer my tax dollars towards helping people in the community, wildlife / animals and plants.

It won't make my routes - always bad request, cell, wifi, both.

### 2/5 — Notifications not working

*2026-07-22*

This is generally a nice app, but the notifications do not appear to work, at least with the most current version of iOS. Even though I have enabled notifications for this app, the toggle in the advanced setting says that notifications are disabled. Also, the dialogue indicates that notifications will still appear when the app is running, although they will not appear when the app is running in the background. This does not work either. My main interest in using this app is to be informed when I am approaching a camera, so I hope this is resolved quickly. By the way, I am using the latest version of this app.

**Developer response:** We finally found the problem and this should be fixed very soon.

### 2/5 — Difficult to use/doesn’t work

*2026-03-02, version 2.7.2*

I downloaded the app but to submit information you must create an account (like I need another login to remember) I did that through the open street site you must use. It was slow. They send you a link to confirm but the link does not work. Disappointing.

### 3/5 — Won’t let me set separate start and end locations

*2026-08-22*

Every time I try to select a place I want to go to and choose route to or route from it automatically says that the locations are too close before even allowing me to choose the other end of the route. If I try to put in the location I’m starting from it does this and if I try to put in the location that I’m trying to go to it does this. I visited the website yesterday and didn’t have this issue, but i just downloaded the app and it has this problem.

**Developer response:** You should be able to drag the map, search for the second location, or enable GPS to center on yourself if you first selected your destination. That said, DeFlock app is pretty bad at navigation. We've been suggesting people try FlockHopper and DriversAgainstFlock; both developed by friends of ours, both developed with navigation in mind, and both use the same data from OpenStreetMap.

### 3/5 — Useful App but No Proximity Notifications

*2026-08-20*

I like this app a lot but I’ve never been able to get the proximity notifications to work. I’ve made sure that all of the permissions have been granted in my phone’s Notifications section but the app still displays a warning “Notification permissions required”, and the notifications never appear. I’ve even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it doesn’t help.

I would happily give it 5 stars if that issue could be resolved but I can’t watch the map constantly for upcoming cameras while driving in areas that I’m not familiar with.

**Developer response:** This should be fixed in an upcoming release. Sorry for the trouble.

### 5/5 — Try DeFlock Today!

*2026-08-24*

*U.S. anthem playing with VHS distortion in the background*

Are you tired of authoritarian demagogues pretending that your rights don’t exist? Do you feel the need to step up and cheese some solar panels? Whelllll then THIS is the app for you! See flock camera positions with user generated GPS data, plan a route to a camera near you if you’re up for some cheesing, and report new flock cameras that aren’t on the map yet! If you feel like you’re being spied on, “flock around and find out!” Stay safe out there, and GOD BLESS AMERICA! 🇺🇸 🦅 *eagle screech* *anthem concludes*

### 5/5 — Flock Safety is a threat to American values and freedom

*2026-08-23*

Run by an unaccountable child sociopath who depicts people who fight for our right to privacy as terrorists. These “people”, born with silver spoons in their mouths and a disdain for the society around them that they steal from to fund their existence, don’t even have the lived experience to run companies and say such unaccountable things. It needs to stop. DeFlock forever

### 5/5 — Text Size

*2026-08-20*

I love this app but I need the road names to not get small again when I zoom in. Is there a way to make the text size big so I don’t have to take screenshots to zoom in and see the road names? I didn’t find anything in the user guide and if it’s in the settings somewhere I must have missed it. Go figure lol

**Developer response:** We will switch from raster map tiles to vector tiles someday. Once that's done, we will be able to offer this. On the roadmap - just pressed for time. Thanks for the review :)

### 5/5 — Very convenient

*2026-08-20, version 2.11.0*

### 5/5 — A good cause that is accurate

*2026-08-12, version 2.11.0*

### 5/5 — Doing the Good Lord’s Work

*2026-08-12, version 2.11.0*

Kudos to you, DeFlock, you are doing the Lord’s work out here. Keep it up

### 5/5 — Doing gods work

*2026-08-04, version 2.10.3*

Flock is a terrorist organization. They are forcing surveillance on an unsuspecting public. These cameras have not reduced crime in even a single community.

### 5/5 — Philip K Dick

*2026-07-30, version 2.10.3*

The writer warned the few and now it’s true. Funded by more tax in the land of the free

### 5/5 — The Epstein class surveillance tool

*2026-07-23, version 2.10.3*

Our rights and privacy are being infringed by tyrannical class elites.

### 5/5 — Traffic

*2026-07-21, version 2.10.3*

Very useful to check traffic
