## What is degenerative?

degenerative is a companion app for the Art Blocks generative art project by ryley-o.eth and Sally Ohlsen.

Each of 37 tokens is one of Sally Ohlsen's original watercolor paintings, faithfully reconstructed stroke by stroke and stored entirely on-chain. Every week, a single chaos value determines how far each painting has degenerated from its faithful source — drawn from seven modes, different for every token, changing weekly.

Follow one painting to get a weekly nudge about its state. View the live, animated render alongside a short reflection. Export HD and true 300dpi print-quality images directly to Photos.

Over 52 weeks, each painting changes. Then, each year, the same 52 weeks repeat exactly — the same chaos, the same week, the same image, forever.
