### 2/5 — Oh my god, please just let me import recipes.

*2026-08-08, version 9.1.0*

I want an app that looks nice and will let me import and organize recipes. I do not want to have to go through a 20-page survey about my life goals, diet, and social media habits. A recipe app does not need to know those things. Two stars because it looks nice; only two stars because it needs to mind its business and stop pretending to be my life coach.

### 4/5 — Great app! Not worth the $50

*2026-07-24, version 9.1.0*

The AI parsing is fantastic, but when I import a Google Doc I'd love to see attached images preserved and document attribution (e.g., author/creator) carried over automatically. Those details are especially important for family recipes. The free version will suffice for pulling in recipes from sites but then I’ll likely just pull those into AnyList which is my preferred recipe app.

### 4/5 — 90% of the way there

*2026-07-22, version 9.0.0*

This app is wonderful for organizing my recipes, planning meals, and finding new recipes.

That being said, there are inconveniences I run into that stop this from being 5 stars.

First, I should have the option in discovery and exploring to not see recipes that have a paywall. I already put up with features being paywalled by the app, but listing paywalled recipes makes it even more irritating.

Second, I wish the automatic categories took more dietary restrictions into account. I have family members who have allergies and while I can manually make categories to get around it, I am limited on how many I get to make in the free tier. Not a showstopper, but it is an inconvenience.

### 2/5 — Barely works

*2026-07-18, version 9.0.0*

The app barely works, doesn’t come up with measurements on recipes processed from instagram and can’t find them when I upload screenshots of different ones.

### 5/5 — Free version is actually awesome

*2026-06-18, version 8.8.0*

A great way to import recipes from multiple sites and has good cooking mode. The only downside to the free version is that you cannot categorize recipes

### 5/5 — Game Changer!!

*2026-06-15, version 8.8.0*

I've cooked over 265 recipes in the last year because it's made my life that easy! No more forgetting recipes or items grocery shopping. I've recommended it to all my friends.

### 5/5 — Revolutionised my recipe storage!

*2026-06-06, version 8.7.0*

I love this app. It’s so easy to use and has helped me enormously in searching my recipes, avoiding the large pile of scraps of magazines!

### 5/5 — The best & can we make it better?

*2026-05-27, version 8.7.0*

Honestly, I’ve just recently downloaded Deglaze but so far it’s been amazing. I find it’s incredibly convenient to save recipes from social media with it automatically sorting and filling out the details for you! However, I had a thought that, since I save lots of recipes, that the app might become overwhelming fast. Perhaps if they introduced a feature where I could input the things I have in my fridge, or select what recipes I want to make this week, I could see the recipes I could make and the recipes I’d have to run to the store for.

### 5/5 — The BEST cooking app I’ve tried.

*2026-05-18*

I think I have tried ALL the recipe apps - my husband says I have anyway! This has been a game changer. All of the features I have been searching for over years and it’s also making me cook more. The indexing system and great AI means I am even using recipes I haven’t tried from books I’ve had for years. Thank you 🙏

### 5/5 — Best App Ever

*2026-04-27, version 8.5.0*

This app is literally the best. I’ve tried a few other similar apps but none have been as great as this one. I have ~500 recipes saved from different websites, social media, and photos from cookbooks and they’ve all imported correctly (which is very shocking compared to the other apps I’ve used). Deglaze is also the one of the cheaper ones I’ve used which is nice.

I noticed a very small bug in the app and emailed them to let them know and they answered basically immediately acknowledging it, the update to patch the bug came out same week, and they emailed me to let me know when it was patched! Amazing app and customer service all around.

### 5/5 — The best recipe app by far

*2026-04-22*

I never leave reviews but just had to because I love this app so much. I trialed a ton of recipe apps about a year ago and this was the best by far for my needs. I still use it near daily a year later. The importing works really well even with screenshots or poorly taken photos. The in-recipe timers are a godsend for multi-part recipes. The automatic recalculation for scaling a recipe not just in the ingredients list but inline in the instructions is great. The household joint account feature is SO handy; my partner and I save recipes as we find them and then pick a few for the week and add them to the shopping list (and the shopping list sorting by aisle and by recipe is such a great feature too!). I’ve also found a ton of my favorite recipes just browsing the explore section. I have ADHD so the coordination of cooking can be struggle for me, but I’ve built my cooking repertoire so much thanks to Deglaze and I really love cooking with it. I’m a big cheapskate and never pay for apps or subscriptions, but paying for this is such a no brainer for me.

### 5/5 — Efficient and accurate

*2026-04-07*

I have saved multiple video recipes from Facebook and Instagram. This app provides accurate translation in English even if the video is in other languages. Once the recipe is saved it allows you to go directly in the facebook/instagram reel/video. Really useful and tidy app. Easy to use, I’d definitely recommend as its much better than other recipe app I’ve tried.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-04-03, version 8.3.0*

So easy to use, love it.

### 5/5 — Wow

*2026-03-30, version 8.3.0*

I’m in love with this app. I have memory issues and the checkmarks for ingredients help me so much that I can stay organized and I have easy access to the video if I need it I have shared this app with my kids and family and friends.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2026-03-28, version 8.3.0*

Easy to use, creates grocery list

### 5/5 — Best recipe app out there!

*2026-03-24, version 8.3.0*

I’ve been looking for a way to organize my cookbooks, insta recipes, and webpage recipes and I finally found one that works well! The import is so fast so it makes it easy to add favorite cookbook recipes without it being tedious. The organization/filtering/sorting is also fantastic compared to the other 4 apps I tried. The meal planner and grocery list also make things super easy so everything can be done in one place!

### 5/5 — Best grocery list and recipe app

*2026-03-23, version 8.3.0*

I have tried a couple other recipe and grocery list apps and deglaze has been without a doubt the best. Even after moving some features beyond a premium version, that app is more than usable and still my favorite app of its kind. I love it! I’m still toying with the idea of getting the premium to unlock the meal planning feature.

### 4/5 — Very good app

*2026-03-23, version 8.2.0*

Use X-ray mode to view just the actual recipe and “start cooking” to activate recipe mode so your phone doesn’t lock while you are cooking. Does a good job of pulling the actual recipe from lengthy blog posts, that’s my favorite part!

### 5/5 — 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

*2026-03-23, version 8.3.0*

Professional chef certified review!!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-07-10, version 8.10.0*

I didn’t get a chance to try much of this app because it kept messing up. Fix the technical bugs and I might come back.

### 1/5 — Almost good but not quite

*2026-03-17, version 8.2.0*

All this app does is save the link and give a way to categorize, it doesn’t actually convert it to just a recipe, you still need to find the recipe amongst all the blah, blah, blah every poster seems to need to write. There also isn’t a way to view in “cook mode” so you need to keep the screen active or constantly unlock it. Definitely not worth the price so far.

### 1/5 — Not as advertised.

*2026-03-12, version 8.2.0*

I was under the impression that I could do a bunch of stuff for free, jokes on me I guess because I can’t even add anything without paying for it.

### 1/5 — Grams

*2025-12-23, version 7.7.0*

I can’t change to get grams. Only ml.

### 1/5 — “A FULLY FREE VERSION” IS A STRETCH… ER STRAIGHT UP LIE!

*2025-12-17, version 7.7.0*

It’s “fully free” for 7 days then 50$ a year. I don’t care to pay for something once but a subscription for a cookbook that I add things to myself? No thanks!

### 1/5 — Imports

*2025-11-14, version 7.6.2*

20 free then you’re limited to 3 a week and most of the features are locked behind Pro. It’s the same app as ReciMe.

### 1/5 — Features gone

*2025-09-25, version 7.5.0*

No longer able to scale recipes without a high subscription fee, this is a basic feature that is a simple formulate and doesn’t require a llm and ai.

### 1/5 — Bait and Switch

*2025-08-20, version 7.3.0*

They made a forced update that removed features and turned it into a subscription service. No there is no one time fee, despite this not being an app that in any way requires ongoing support. I wouldn’t mind if an update added paid content. I wouldn’t mind if the update was a one time purchase. But I don’t want to rent something as basic as a recipe app. Clippy wouldn’t do this. Clippy just wanted to help.

### 1/5 — Paywalls free features down the line :(

*2025-08-16, version 7.3.0*

Just as said, a perfectly good service that I would pay a one time price for, not 50$/yr.

### 1/5 — Free?

*2025-08-10, version 7.2.0*

Can NOT select the free version. I just got the app and was setting up my account and it will not let me select the FREE version. Deleting app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Absolutely love this app

*2026-08-13, version 9.1.0*

Every time I think this app can’t get better, they add a feature or tweak something and bam, it’s better.

I use it to import recipes from Instagram and the web (using the bookmarklet feature), make meal plans for the week, create shopping lists from those meal plans, and (of course) as a cooking companion.

### 5/5 — Best recipe app in existence!!!!

*2026-08-07, version 9.1.0*

No other app compares this is the best

### 5/5 — Has transformed my eating!

*2026-07-16*

Love this app. I’ve always considered myself “hopeless” in the kitchen …my the time I chose recipes, prepared the shopping list…sometimes I didn’t go shopping or did then couldn’t be assed cooking. This makes it so much easier to plan, shop, cook. Or even if I don’t plan, I can pull up to supermarket, get out my phone and quickly choose a few recipes and populate the shopping list as I do so. Worth every penny!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-07-15, version 9.0.0*

Easy to use excellent customer support. I might never buy another cookbook.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-07-12, version 8.10.0*

I have wondered for years why there isn’t a better way to organize all my recipes besides the “recipe box” of our mother’s era. Well this is it! I am so excited about this app. I’ve spent so much time in the past two days transferring my saved, written and web based recipes. What an amazing tool. Best app ever.

### 5/5 — My Dream Come True

*2026-07-01, version 8.10.0*

This is what was missing in my life

### 5/5 — Easy perfection

*2026-06-28, version 8.10.0*

No muss no fuss. Love this. Seamless.

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2026-06-27*

My saving grace. I use it daily. 10/10 no notes

### 5/5 — Great app with fantastic customer support

*2026-06-23, version 8.9.0*

I have been using Deglaze for a while now and had an issue with my subscription. I reached out to customer support and not only did they fix it, they were fast and super nice. I know other apps like this are out there but I love that the experience I got with them was so reliable. I don’t think I’ll migrate to a different one. I also think the app is super clean and easy to use. 10/10 experience

### 5/5 — Great find

*2026-06-18, version 8.8.0*

This is the slickest thing ever. Easy to use. I love it!!!
