## What is Delaware Mobile ID?

Including layers of security and privacy controls, Delaware Mobile ID is a contactless, convenient way to verify your identity from your phone.

Delaware Mobile ID allows you to control what information you share during a transaction. For example, when buying age-restricted items, the app can confirm you are of legal age without having to share your birth date or address.

Intuitive and easy-to-use, Mobile ID is unlocked by a selfie match to verify identity, or by using a self-selected pin or TouchID/FaceID so your personal information is always protected.

In five simple steps, you can register for your Delaware mID:

1. Download the app and set permissions
2. Verify access to your phone number 
3. Use your device camera to scan the front and back of your driver’s license or ID card
4. Follow the app’s registration steps to take a selfie 
5. Set up app security and you’re good to go! 

Please note: Delaware Mobile ID is considered an official state-issued ID, serving as a companion to your physical ID. Please continue to carry your physical ID because not all entities are able to verify mID yet.

Overall I experienced multiple errors when attempting the initial setup. Between it not recognizing my id, needing to uninstall the app and try again, took probably 10 minutes to get it working. This is a massive deterrent for getting people
Onboarded and using the app. The app is also just a little buggy and has inconsistent performance in general. Updates come very infrequently.

I am writing to bring to your attention some significant technical issues I have encountered while using the Delaware Mobile ID (DE Mobile ID) application.

Specifically, I have experienced the following problems:
	1.	Unstable performance: The app crashes unexpectedly and frequently, making it unreliable for regular use.
	2.	Limited functionality on iPhone: It is currently not possible to add the digital ID to the Apple Wallet, unlike similar applications offered by other states. This limits the convenience and accessibility of the digital ID for Delaware residents.

Given the increasing importance of digital identification, I respectfully request that you consider making improvements to the application, including:
	•	Ensuring greater stability across various iPhone models;
	•	Enabling integration with Apple Wallet, similar to implementations in states such as Arizona and Colorado.

Implementing these enhancements would significantly improve user experience and strengthen the digital infrastructure of the State of Delaware.

I would appreciate your response and any information regarding upcoming updates or planned improvements to address these concerns.
