### 1/5 — Terrible app/ doesn’t work

*2022-11-15, version 2.5.0*

After spending a couple hours messing with this app, it’s just junk and doesn’t work! I paid more money for a wireless ability for my Battery Tender just to end up with an app that doesn’t work. Shame on this company for not fixing this thing over the last couple years! Don’t offer Wi-Fi if you app is junk.

### 1/5 — Cannot register won’t validate password field

*2022-11-08*

Can’t review. Can’t get registered. No matter what I use for a password. Yes I have capitalized and lowercase yes I have numbers and yes it’s between 8 & 24 characters. Just fails highlighting the password rules and not activating the register button

### 1/5 — Completely useless

*2022-11-03, version 2.5.0*

This is the worst app I’ve ever had. Not only does the charger I bought not connect to 5Ghz networks, the app won’t even connect to the charger at all even with 5Ghz turned off on my access point.

It’s companies like this that give “smart” devices a bad name!

### 1/5 — Useless App

*2022-08-02, version 2.5.0*

Bought the charger today. Can’t register online since it will accept my password although I am complying with the requirement: 1 Capital letter, 1 number and the rest are small case. I bought it for this specific feature to monitor the charger from my phone. Obviously, the developers have no idea what they’re doing

### 1/5 — Worthless APP

*2022-07-31, version 2.5.0*

Just purchased the charger and downloaded the app. I can’t even register with the app.
Even though I followed the instructions I can’t get past putting in a password.
This app is a absolute waste of time.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all

*2022-06-26, version 2.5.0*

Followed the instructions for wifi app and connected to the wifi per the in the box instructions . However the app (despite being connected to the product wifi) won’t recognize it . Keeps saying the wifi start with a BT but the wifi starts with a number . Also the charger itself is way to confusing the manual doesn’t explain anything ! I can’t even find out how to keep it on despite not being plugged in, which mamps to choose nor which of the multiple power cycles I am supposed to be on. When you unplug the cord the device turns off so no way to charge the battery of your car . Awful product overall including the wifi

### 1/5 — Me Too, doesn’t connect to WiFi

*2022-05-25, version 2.5.0*

Please offer an update or something to make this app work

### 1/5 — It did work

*2022-05-07, version 2.5.0*

This app used to work. Now after working fine, it’s just showing dashes where the values would be displayed.

### 1/5 — App is useless to me

*2022-04-27, version 2.5.0*

I cannot use this app because it requires you to create an account. When I tried to do this it says my email address is “badly formatted” I know this is because my domain name has a dash (-) in it. This is the only email address I have and cannot get through the create account process to use the app. Totally worthless to me. I feel bad giving it one star - it should be zero!

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money

*2022-03-17, version 2.5.0*

I bought 3 devices and none of them can connect home 2.5 network! No support no help no nothing

### 1/5 — Fix your app!!

*2022-03-11, version 2.5.0*

Does not give any reading whatsoever, except the constant “updating” at the bottom of the screen. You can do better than this!

### 1/5 — Worthless app. Can’t even get past a password.

*2022-02-13, version 2.5.0*

During setup, you are prompted to come up with a password, including an upper case and lower case letter, and a number. After making about 100 attempts unsuccessfully, I gave up. I’ll be returning the charger.

### 1/5 — Bad, do not wast your time

*2022-01-31, version 2.5.0*

You can not get the app to work. It will tell you that the device was added but no connection. I did this 30 times . Complete junk and a waste of my time. This is the second one, sending back for full refund

### 1/5 — Don’t second guess yourself. It’s rated 1 star for a reason.

*2022-01-23, version 2.5.0*

Just take it back to the store and get a less expensive one because this app and the chargers WiFi connectivity are a bad joke.

### 1/5 — All units stopped working December 2024

*2025-01-23*

I have 5 of these unit’s monitoring batteries at 5 different locations across Arkansas. They were initially a pain to pair with WiFi but once accomplished worked flawlessly. All 5 units at all 5 locations ceased operating December 16th 2024. I can only assume the company has decided to discontinue whatever is necessary for these units to operate. That is pretty low down and scummy. These units were purchased with the expectation they would operate and I certainly held up my end of the bargain by paying for them. The company should issue refunds to everyone that purchased WiFi units. I will never purchase another product from this company again and will make it a point to dissuade others from doing the same.

### 1/5 — WiFi DOES NOT WORK AT ALL

*2025-01-08*

It is impossible to connect any of their devices to WiFi in 2025. They should not be marketing this as a feature anymore. Honestly they probably shouldn’t have been marketing this as a feature 5 years ago because my 8 year old router, 5 year old router, 2 year old router, and my now brand new professional grade network setup all failed to be compatible with their devices. I have done everything possible to make it work but it flat out DOES NOT WORK with any network. I set up a completely separate WiFi network with my old router all only broadcasting on the 2.4Ghz network and it failed to connect to them so I went so far as to create a separate 2.4Ghz network just for their devices on my current brand new setup now that I have a whole server room and it still flat out does not work. If I cannot make it connect to a custom made network specifically created for their devices then it clearly only will work on very specific hardware most people will not have anymore if they ever did have it. They need to remove the WiFi advertising from the boxes and marketing or they need to fix this because currently it is false advertising at best and malicious marketing at worst.

### 1/5 — Wifi doesn’t work at all.

*2024-02-02*

What’s the point of this $130 maintainer if the smart function doesn’t work. I have mine connected to the 2.4 gHz IOT network on my mesh router, and all the app ever says is “updating.” I bought this so I could monitor the lifepo4 battery on my collector car. It does me zero good if the app doesn’t work. It’s getting returned to lowes. I’ll go back to my dumb Ctek.

### 1/5 — App does not work at all

*2024-01-08*

As of the time of writing this, the app has not had an update in 3 years. The sign up page is broken, signing up through battery tenders web page and then trying to use that log in doesn’t work either. I wasted a solid 45 min trying to get it to work before giving up :(

### 1/5 — Don’t Bother

*2023-09-05*

Don’t bother buying this version of the battery tender if you want to use the wifi. It’s absolutely useless as it will not connect. The internal guide and provided instructional manual have 2 different networks stated. Only 1 pulls up and does not connect to it. Tried a million times and simply will not work, just loops you in circles on settings. Wifi is a joke.

### 1/5 — Can’t connect to hidden network

*2023-08-15*

I don’t broadcast my network and would like to keep it that way. Please add a way to manually enter a network instead of relying on broadcasted SSIDs.

Help button in app sent me to a 502 bad gateway error page. That needs to be fixed as well.

Charger works, the additional tech part needs to work too for satisfied customer experience.

### 1/5 — Zero stars for WiFi

*2023-02-19, version 2.5.0*

Charger itself seems to work fine. WiFi will not connect at all through newer iPhone updates.

I bought this on clearance for a great price. I’d still return it if the WiFi was a major selling point for me. It isn’t, so I’ll continue using it as a standard charger that I got a great deal on.

### 1/5 — Garbage is an understatement

*2023-01-08, version 2.5.0*

Took me 100 tries and a lot of patience to get this trash connected and when it did it didn’t operate like it was supposed to. Couldn’t connect it to the home Wi-Fi like advertised so my phone had to be connected directly to it if I wanted to do anything. Fast forward a year later won’t let me connect at all. Got some satisfaction utilizing my 5 lb sledge on the battery tender and just hooked up a charger that doesn’t require wifi.

### 1/5 — Won’t connect to the charger

*2023-01-04, version 2.5.0*

When I connect to the charger WiFi network the app does not acknowledge the connect and I can not continue the connection process.

### 1/5 — No passwords allowed

*2022-11-28, version 2.5.0*

All the reviews led me to believe it would be clunky, but I didn’t expect the required user registration to not work.

No passwords will be accepted. Rules are one number, lower case, and uppercase. No passwords are accepted. I can’t register, so I can’t use the app.

Worse than 1 star.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2024-10-21*

I have 3 monitoring devices and 2 10A chargers. The devices and app have been working great for years. I’m not sure why so many people rate this so low. I did setup a 2ghz only wifi network for all of them, so maybe that’s why they’ve worked so well. I’ve had to reset and add my 10A chargers once or twice in the last several years but the monitoring pucks that plug in to the battery haven’t had any issues. The only major problem is that I don’t always receive low battery notifications. I really wish they would update the app and maybe add a refresh button.

### 5/5 — Works

*2024-01-09*

Honestly, I didn’t have the same experience with this app as other people. I did have to look up the default password and that could have been in the app, but it reads out voltages and amps for me which is good enough.

### 5/5 — Works great on 10A

*2023-03-13*

Had to reset wifi connection once, but has worked fine for 2+ years. No complaints.

### 5/5 — Works ok,

*2020-09-06, version 2.5.0*

It seems to work ok, I have mine attached to a tv antenna pole monitoring a solar battery for a camera, two things I would like to request, a adjustable refresh interval and a history feature.
The software for me is pretty stable and generally does the job it is there to do.
It refreshes at 10 minute intervals.

Overall, aside from a learning curve while setting it up. I am happy with it.

On setup, make sure your phone is on 2.4Ghz WiFi, I have several outdoor devices connecting to WiFi, and this seems to be fairly standard.

### 4/5 — 10A tender works for me

*2023-02-03, version 2.5.0*

WiFi connect was a bit painful, and it lost the connection one other time. However, it has worked flawlessly from that time forward (2+ weeks). Screen updates are a bit slow, but usually happen in 30 seconds or less. Note that I do have a WiFi router in my garage, so that probably helps; even though it is more than 10 years old.

### 4/5 — Works as intended

*2022-04-08*

I purchased this to see when my vehicle battery was low, vehicle has a slow battery drain, this allows me to know I need to put it on charge, Bluetooth connection would be better but no issues with wifi, seems to be a decent product, longer cables would be a nice added bonus, so monitor could be mounted further away from battery.

### 3/5 — Problematic with default iOS settings

*2020-11-16, version 2.5.0*

Very spotting functionality upon first setup. I’ve found a few things that really helped.
Firstly, make sure the WiFi signal to the tender device has strong to moderate 2.4g WiFi signal.

Second, ensure the tender device is connected to a modern WiFi hotspot or router. Anything more than 3~4 years old will hinder connectivity. I had mine connected through a 6 year old router that for most things didn’t seem to care. However several mini smart home devices including the tender WiFi monitor had lots of trouble connecting during setup and then disconnected routinely.

For iOS users (latest as of Nov 2020) go into the app settings and turn off “Cellular Data” and “Precise Location” options.

With all of those conditions I get a fairly consistent battery level update provided I’m on a WiFi internet connection. I have a suspicion that if I were not on WiFi but turned off my phone’s WiFi and enabled the App setting for Cellular Data that might allow also Ellie normal real-time battery level updates.

### 2/5 — Updating

*2022-02-16, version 2.5.0*

I to have same problem my app says congrats connected. But when you go to see how much your battery has updated it says updating. For hours and hours and no updating is going on. I too have tried everything and nothing works still updating. Help????

### 2/5 — Does not update date and Time!! Please debug!

*2021-01-31*

Please debug!!

### 2/5 — A litte archaïque

*2019-06-27*

App doesn’t give real time voltage reading when open most of the time and sometimes gives previous readings (ex: 7 days ago)...
If the app gets fixed, will update score ;)
