But, the lack of features compared to the site version stops me from keeping the app. To reinstall the app needs the ability to click headlines and main story transcripts while watching or listening. ### 2/5 — Excellent coverage; infuriating app *2026-02-24* Playback pauses or mutes abruptly regardless of connection. The iPad has evolved considerably since its debut and many people now exclusively use it attached to a Smart Keyboard and therefore in landscape orientation - it is beyond absurd that this app does not support landscape orientation. Spotty App. *2025-03-07, version 3.8.15* The content is 5+ as Democracy Now is the most important English language news source in the US. Especially if you want to watch the live shows in the morning. If you aren’t watching on a WiFi connection, the stream nessus up a lot. It would also be really nice to have audio only available during live. It doesn’t work well for commuters. ### 2/5 — App is super glitchy *2024-08-16* To explain my 2 stars - I love love love DN! and want to use the app to share to social media (instead of the website on a browser), but it’s far too glitchy to do so. I listen to the podcast version on Apple Podcast daily and always want to turn to the app right away to go share the videos and articles. The app is great in so many ways - in terms of accessibility of and easily searching for content. But the articles are glitchy and at this time, I am unable to scroll past the first paragraph. I can see that there are “modules” of text etc that kinda move around when I try to scroll and it won’t scroll past the first one. I have barely used the app because in the past when I *could* read the full article, when I wanted to copy portions of the transcript to share with the link, it wouldn’t allow me to do more one paragraph at a time. I always put it in my mind to go to my laptop to the website to share when I’m able, but life gets busy and I forget. It would be great to go to the app as I’m listening away from my laptop to immediately share what I’m listening to. Please look into it and update the app (it’s been two years?) - I would love love love to use it!! ### 3/5 — App issues *2024-07-25, version 3.5.0* Love the news. Apple Car Play, make the democracy now app available on apple car play. This would make it easier/safer to listen in the car. 2. Chrome cast. Add a chrome cast icon to the app. 3. Fix bug. When I try to make the democracy now video small, it will play for about 2 seconds and then disappear. It constantly breaks off in the middle of a segment and goes back to an earlier segment. You have to close the app and reopen it and cue it up again to the live show in order to keep on going. I never heard about a military base in Diego Garcia until I heard about it on “Democracy Now!”. There are all kinds of examples of information that nobody is talking about other than Amy Goodman, Juan Gonzalez and company.
