It’s an unfortunate trend of some apps to transform the UI away from user space into a shopfront. Being constantly badgered to upgrade is user hostile if there is no way to turn it off. This app is 3€ per month to generate some pretty pictures, as nearly all features are behind a subscription paywall. It gives you a decent idea of how the app works, but options are limited. However, the “Pro”version subscription is totally reasonable.😁 If you want to create super elaborate covers, this isn’t the app you want. But there are some cool options and after playing around with it for a bit, I was able to create a couple of fun covers for my playlists. I’ll probably have a few suggestions for the developer after I use it some more, but they made it clear that they are open to suggestions. I was shocked that there’s a whole different option if I hold long on the “add cover to playlist” to save it to my photo library. Why not have two buttons that are obvious, or selection of where to export to? Spotify, Apple Music, Photos? I wish future features would bring color effects on photography or other elements to add, not just text. Thanks, I guess. **Developer response:** Denim 3 has tons of complex features designed for iPhone, that are yet to be optimised for macOS. Hope you can understand why now, and I’ll look to support macOS soon! ### 1/5 — Worse *2024-06-27* Literally Nothing I synced my music via itunes (PC); now this app doesn't recognize my playlists anymore. So I can't choose any cover. Previous version was far better. ### 1/5 — More free options please!! *2023-01-15, version 2.0.4* They don’t give you many options that are free, not worth your time. ### 1/5 — Stale, neglected *2022-06-17* I initially liked being able to make custom album artwork for my playlists, but I feel like this app has been left by the wayside. Some of what I thought were the best album covers were swapped for more boring images; there was an image of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin that wasn’t removed for months after I contacted the developer about it in October 2021, even after I received a response that it would be removed “at the earliest”; and the recent update, although thankfully the memorial image is removed, seems to have downsized the full collection even more. If the Denim Pro collection were greatly expanded, maybe I’d come back to it and enjoy it, but given the slow pace of change I have my doubts. **Developer response:** Denim 3, our biggest update ever is here!
