A reflection of Denver’s service to its taxpayers. ### 1/5 — Trash cart problem *2024-09-04, version 2023.4.19* I have been waiting almost 6 weeks for a damaged trash cart to be replaced. I have called in the past 3 weeks and have been promised a replacement with each call I have made. I’m told the last 2 weeks that it was going to be a priority replacement. The story I am given is that they can’t find the cart. The trash trucks have no problem finding it and dumping it every week. I am a senior and I find it difficult to drag the cart around with only one wheel. I am very frustrated and need someone to help me ### 1/5 — Missing next pickup date *2022-04-21, version 2021.12.15* The one thing I want it to do - give me a way to find out whether this week’s pickup includes recycling - it doesn’t. There used to be a calendar that had this information, but now that’s been replaced by the next electronics recycling event, and the public holiday next month, and the holiday three months from now. There’s also a game. But the only way to find out when the recycling pickup is, is to set up a notification - which is so temperamental, the app comes with recommendations such as to never use Do Not Disturb (and let robocallers wake you up) or restart your phone one more time. So if I want to know which day recycling is, I have to switch to the web browser app, go to denvergov.org and search there. ### 1/5 — Can’t find my address *2022-01-10* I downloaded the app because the trash/recycling dates changed and I was not notified. The app cannot find my address and nothing happens when I “report” that. I have reported it several times and never heard back. Not helpful as it doesn’t show any information if it cannot find your address. Can’t see the online maps or schedules without an address. Completely useless to me. **Developer response:** Hello! Can you please send your full address, including house number, street name, and the name of the city in which you live to support@recollect.net and include the name of the app that you are using in the email? And initially the updated app didn't think I had notification permissions on, but I do, and it didn't know my address so I had to re enter it. ### 2/5 — Unexplained app reset *2021-03-11* I’ve come to depend on the reminders form this app and it’s been reliable. Until today. I realized a few hours too late that I’d missed getting bins out on time. I checked the app hoping for a holiday delay. But the app didn’t show the schedule for my address. Only the recycle search, game, and three dot tabs existed. Looking at settings it still had my address but alerts were turned off. There was no calendar tab button to select, no way to see schedules. I presumed it was a buggy upgrade but seeing that the version is 3 months old I removed and re-installed. Looks normal after reinstall but it can no longer be relied upon so it’s back to manual calendar alerts and putting trash out a day early on holiday weeks. I know, it’s a free app and it’s not the end of the world to have overflowing bins for a week. It’s just a bummer to not be able to depend on such seemingly simple technology. **Developer response:** Hello, we are very sorry for the confusion. In our latest data update your address was reformatted to match other City address records. Please try searching your address in the app using a "North" before your street name. The trash guys are conscientious and excellent and this app is great. The problems are with the admin follow through. I requested a medium can over 6 months ago: nothing, in spite of several calls. Worse, I’m an avid gardener and need the compost can badly. I ordered one over 2 months ago. Two weeks ago I heavily tipped a driver with the request that he see if one could be delivered soon; I called in follow up. I know the service is very busy. But with personal requests for compost and no can, I’m going to be forced to put yard waste and plant material in the trash soon if I can’t get someone to respond.
