## What is Depicty?

depicty — Learn a language without going through your own.

Most language apps teach you to translate: your language in your head, the target language on the screen. depicty takes a different path. Every sentence is a sequence of clear, language-neutral icons. You read the meaning directly, then say the sentence out loud.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Read the icons — a person, an action, an object, sometimes a place or time. Together they depict a full sentence.

2. Say it out loud — depicty listens and checks your answer. Speaking earns the most XP.

3. Or build it with tiles — when you can't speak, assemble the sentence word by word. No full-sentence translations to tap.

Long-press any icon to hear the word and get a hint.

A NATURAL LEARNING RAMP

• Multiple choice at early levels — wrong answers are always real sentences, so you must read carefully
• Tile assembly as you improve — produce the language yourself
• Speech throughout — the skill that matters most

Training covers past, present, and future tense. Higher levels add negatives, questions, and modals (can, want to, must) — all through icons, not grammar lectures.

PLACEMENT TEST

New here? Take a short adaptive test (~10 questions) to find your level from 1 to 5. Training starts where you actually are.

50+ VERBS & EVERYDAY WORDS

Verbs like eat, drink, walk, run, go, see, work, study, buy, cook, read, write, learn, drive, visit, play, and more — combined with objects, people, places, and times you use in daily life.

SMART SPACED REPETITION

Each verb has its own strength meter. Weak verbs resurface sooner; mastered verbs appear less often. On the Practice tab, drill one tense or one verb. Focused practice is free and restores a heart.

FORGIVING SPEECH GRADING

Real learners, real microphones. Grading is accent-tolerant and filler-aware, with word-by-word feedback and a free retry when you're close.

XP, STREAKS & HEARTS

Hit 50 XP daily to grow your streak. Training uses five hearts (one lost per mistake, refilled over time). Switch to practice when you run out.
