## What is Depth of Field Calculator?

Walk up to any scene already knowing exactly what will be sharp.

Dial in your camera, lens, aperture, and subject distance — DoF draws your zone of focus before you shoot: where sharpness begins, where it ends, and how the blur falls away on either side.

Depth of field is the difference between a portrait that breathes and one that doesn't, between a landscape that's crisp to the horizon and one that goes soft where it matters. Most of us learned it from tables and formulas. DoF turns it into something you can see: a live viewfinder strip with a green in-focus band, soft blur gradients at both edges, and a subject pin you drag with your thumb. Open the aperture and watch the band collapse. Stop down and watch it stretch. It stops being math and becomes instinct.

The catalog has grown from 65 bodies to 1,073 across 24 brands — current and discontinued DSLRs, mirrorless bodies, fixed-lens and bridge cameras, 35 mm film cameras, and medium-format film. New formats cover 645, 6×6, 6×7 and 6×9 film plus the small sensors in compacts, and every entry shows its format and circle of confusion so you can check the maths.

A rebuilt first run
Onboarding now opens on a live blur-falloff strip that reacts as you choose your sensor, so the numbers mean something before you reach the calculator. Your exact body is one search away.

Fixes
• Long distances that are genuinely finite are no longer rounded to infinity
• Stepping past the end of the distance slider keeps a real distance
• Readouts show fewer decimals without discarding the precision you typed
• The At Hyperfocal badge now appears only at the exact hyperfocal distance
