## What is Derd?

Derd is more than a prayer-times app: a calm prayer companion that gets to know you, reminds you your way and asks "did you pray?". It never shames or compares: no streaks, no badges, no one else's numbers. No ads, no tracking.

On first launch it asks four short questions — your name, where you are with prayer, when you want to be reminded and what you'll use Derd for most. Your answers shape the reminders, the Today screen and the tab it opens on. You can change all of it later in Settings.

Highlights:

• "Did you pray?" — when a prayer time begins, the Today screen asks; one tap marks it. With tracking on, the "Prayed" button on the notification marks it without opening the app.

• Reminders before a time ends — when it begins, 15/30/45 minutes before it ends, or both. If you've already prayed, that reminder doesn't come. Notifications can use your name.

• Tracking — the month's calendar, a seven-day summary and your make-up log in one place. No ratios, no shaming; the numbers are only for you.

• Colours that follow the day — mint in the morning, sun yellow at midday, apricot in the afternoon, crimson at sunset, purple at night. Text stays readable in every one.

• Live countdown — to the next prayer, and in Ramadan to iftar and suhoor; on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and in widgets.

• Qibla compass — bring the Kaaba marker to the notch at the top of the dial; the screen glows and the phone taps gently when you're aligned. The qibla angle and the distance to the Kaaba are always on screen.

• How to pray — 30 step-by-step guides from ablution to the funeral prayer, following the Hanafi (Diyanet) school. Recited texts in Arabic with transliteration and source. (The explanations are currently in Turkish.)

• Blessed days — holy nights, Eids, their eves and the three holy months, with a countdown, colour-coded by type.

• Tasbih and "What do you need?" — a dhikr counter you swipe like real prayer beads, a Home Screen widget, and duas by need.

• Monthly prayer times — from the "This month's times" shortcut on the Today screen, and in Settings.

Everything above is free. No ads, no tracking, no account.

Derd Plus (optional) — a dua and dhikr library:
A library of duas and dhikr, the 99 Names of Allah and 12 guides to the blessed days and nights — Arabic text with transliteration, Turkish meanings and a source reference. Monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime unlock; subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. Prayer times, qibla, tracking, blessed days, tasbih, notifications and widgets stay free without Plus.

Prayer times are calculated on your device with the Diyanet (Turkey) method; no internet needed. Your location, your name and your prayer records never reach us.

Madhab (Asr), per-prayer fine-tuning, travel mode and notifications are in Settings. Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu and Indonesian. Designed for iPhone.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-29

• Derd gets to know you — four short questions on first launch; your answers shape the reminders, the Today screen and the tab it opens on. Change any of it in Settings.
• "Did you pray?" — the Today screen asks when a prayer time begins; with tracking on, mark it from the notification's "Prayed" button without opening the app.
• Reminders before a time ends — 15, 30 or 45 minutes before; skipped if you've already prayed. Notifications can use your name.
• New Tracking tab — the month's calendar, a seven-day summary and your make-up log in one place.
• Colours that follow the day — mint, sun yellow, crimson, purple; text readable in each.
• Distance to the Kaaba on the Qibla screen; holy nights, Eids and eves colour-coded; every need has its own icon.
• Monthly times now live in Settings and behind the "This month's times" shortcut on Today.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-21

• Prayer tracking — on the Today screen, tap a prayer to mark that you prayed it; press and hold to mark it as a make-up prayer. No streaks, no shaming: just one line telling you how many prayers you marked in the last 7 days.
• Make-up prayer ledger — Settings ▸ Make-up: a separate debt counter for each prayer, a year-based calculator and a daily goal. Marking a prayer as a make-up lowers that prayer's debt by one. The numbers are yours alone.
• Tasbih history and a daily goal — the dhikr counts of the last 30 days, and a ring showing how much of today's goal you have filled.
• An interactive tasbih widget — a "+1" button on the Home Screen and a circular counter on the Lock Screen; count without opening the app.
• Share the card of the day — save or share the verse or Name card as an image.
• I have a code — redeem a promotional code from Settings ▸ Premium.
• Fixed layouts that overflowed on narrow screens and at the largest text sizes (iPhone SE included); the first-launch tour now scrolls.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-08

• How to pray — 30 guides, from ablution to the funeral prayer; every step in order, with the Arabic and its transliteration. Hanafi (Diyanet) school, free. (Explanations are in Turkish for now.)
• The library now includes what is recited within the prayer: al-Fatiha, Subhanaka, at-Tahiyyat, the salawat, the qunut supplications, the tasbih of bowing and prostration, and the short suras.
• The Qibla screen was reworked: a fixed target notch at the top of the dial, an arc pointing the way to the Kaaba, and a screen that warms as you get closer.
• A short tour of the five tabs on first launch (skippable at any time), and a one-line description of each tab in Help.
• The sky colour now turns by itself the moment a prayer time arrives — while the app is open and when you come back to it.
• "What do you need?" — a second way into the library, by need. Twelve needs: gratitude, distress, anxiety, protection, forgiveness, family, exams, healing, provision, debt, travel, sleep. Every need has at least one dua open to everyone.
• A new look — the background, the horizon glow and the accent colour now come from the current prayer; six skies from suhoor to isha. Widgets and the Lock Screen read the same colour.
• One card on the Today screen that changes each day: a Qur'anic verse (Arabic, Turkish meaning and reference), a Name of Allah, or a note about the day.
• A new app icon.
• Adhan notifications no longer stop quietly — they are rescheduled even if you don't open the app for a while.
• The widget keeps up when you travel; it refreshes as soon as your location changes.
• "Restore purchases" now tells you when the problem is the connection.
• The religious-days list stays full going forward; the Regaip date was corrected.
• A free sample from every library section and every need.
• Three more rows fit on the monthly times screen; the month arrows and a few buttons are much easier to hit.
• VoiceOver: the tasbih can be counted, the qibla is spoken.
• Battery: the Today screen refreshes once a minute instead of once a second.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-09-02

• The whole library is now fully vowelled — Arabic texts show harakat alongside transliteration. Quranic texts were written from a canonical mushaf and verified against it.
• Search and category filters in the library; tap a dhikr to start counting it on the tasbih.
• A redesigned tasbih — beads now travel along a curve like a real one, and lap progress shows as a ring around the counter.
• The "today's guide" line on the Today screen is now visible to everyone.
• Monthly prayer times now show the Hijri month, holy-day marks, and emphasis on imsak/maghrib.
• The religious-days tab now opens with a line tied to today, plus a year divider.
• Qibla: when no compass is available, the bearing and how to find it are shown anyway.
• Fixed the plan list on the subscription screen; locked content now says what it unlocks.
• The app is now available in Indonesian.
• Various fixes and improvements.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-31

• Derd Plus — a dua and dhikr library: 111 duas and dhikr, the 99 Names of Allah, and 12 guides to the blessed days and nights, each with Arabic text, transliteration, Turkish meaning and a source. New content every month.
• A Dhikr tab — the tasbih counter now sits alongside the library, with one section open to everyone.
• Tap a religious-day card to open its guide: what the day is, how it is observed, and the duas that belong to it.
• "Today's guide" on the Today screen — a calm nudge when a holy night, the White Days, Friday, or a Monday/Thursday fast is near.
• Prayer times, qibla, the monthly table, religious days, tasbih, notifications and widgets remain free.
• Various improvements and fixes.
