Derive: Handwritten Math Notes

Your pages name themselves now. The worker that reads each page has known what is on it for months, while the sidebar went on calling it Page 1. A page carries the title that worker proposes, so a chapter reads as a list of topics instead of a list of numbers. Flip the pen over and it erases. The flipped cap and the upper barrel button both reached for the lasso instead of the eraser. Both erase now, on the install you already have. Imported slides read properly on a dark theme. A picture is inverted only when most of it is light, and the flip keeps hue, so a dark screenshot stays dark instead of turning into a white slab and red no longer comes back as cyan. The iPad picks up desktop edits as soon as you unlock it, rather than staying deaf for up to a minute after resuming. Every page of an imported notebook shows its own PDF page instead of repeating the first, and a large PDF import no longer runs the iPad out of memory. The sidebar collapses on one button that sits in the header and then rides out over the canvas, the chapter bar leads with its chevron, and Move up and Move down live in the section menu. The selection box gains edge handles that scale one axis, a minimum size so an element cannot be dragged down to nothing, and a click on empty paper clears the selection. Page thumbnails are framed as a window on the page, so a line of writing is no longer shaved at both edges and a shelf of pages reads as one set. Tutor marks come back sooner. A recognition step that cost seconds without improving a single mark is retired, and a recheck skips the AI call when the surrounding work has not changed. Symbolic maths, the formula editor and the graph now share one newer engine. Deleting your account finishes and stops the billing, and signing back in and doing work calls the deletion off from any device. Someone who paid while signed out lands on their receipt instead of a sign-up wall. Fixes: dragging a small mark moves it instead of resizing it, erasing your own working keeps the practice question, finger taps reach the controls over the canvas, a page repaints from your stored ink when the system drops the canvas, undoing a delete keeps the move you made first, a stroke keeps its points when another device sends a partial update, another device's edit reaches a text box you are typing in, the Sync badge lights only when work was really held back, a graph error row reveals its full message, handwriting recognition stops retrying output it can never store, a page that failed to be read gets retried, and every Derive email comes from one address you can reply to.
