There are no guides as to where to place your face when taking the pictures like before. Not that what was there before was user friendly either, but I could at least work with it so that in the progress view it looked mostly uniform. Now when I take a picture I realized I have to put part of my face over the text instructions otherwise it will cut off the top part on the view progress thumbnail view and the detail view. View progress sorts by oldest first by default. It’s more convent to see the recent progress first. App crashes when loading progress photos. Calendar view is also buggy. ### 3/5 — New look *2022-12-17, version 1.3.7* It looks like they’ve recently switched over to Base. On the old Cloe app you could see your progress all together on one page. That was my favorite feature! It’s why I chose Cloe vs just taking the photos on my phone. I’m not sure why they would take this off. You now have to go in to each individual date, and the photo is now small. Please bring this back. It was extremely useful! ### 2/5 — Update broke the only feature I use this app for *2022-12-16, version 1.3.6* After the update I can’t see the entries I had for the last year. And I can’t save a new entry. The only feature of this app that matters to me is the picture entries so I can see the progression of my skin over time. And the fact that the pictures don’t get save to my camera roll. The app needs serious bugfixes. ### 3/5 — Used to love it, but the changes have caused me to use it less. *2021-12-29, version 1.3.5* I was a bigger fan of the app before they implemented the product reviews. I am not interested and the fact that it’s the default page/tab when you open the app is annoying. Looking for an app that allows me to test products and see what things may be causing issues with my skin. ### 3/5 — You should be able to add photos from the past *2021-06-05, version 1.3.5* Why can’t I add my old photos from my camera roll? When I click on the corresponding calendar date to add an entry on an old date it only gives me the option for TODAY. If this could be incorporated that would be great! Just started using the app so can’t rate it much yet. ### 4/5 — good app but insanely slow/buggy? *2020-12-23, version 1.3.3* i want to love this app, the concept is great, but for how little data this app uses and how simple it is, it is SO SLOW. and i’m just trying to type in data entries like “drank coffee today” and for some reason it has an INSANE loading time, and often just fails on me and says it could not save. i’ve restarted the app, restarted my phone, and it continues to do this. please fix all the bugs or i’ll just look for a different app. ### 3/5 — let people change the date after posting please *2020-07-11, version 1.3.1* this is what it says it is. a skincare diary. if you’re looking for more, this isn’t going to cut it. for me, it’s exactly what i need! however, a big complaint of mine is that you can’t change the date of an entry after you’ve posted it. more often than not, i log my skincare routine at/after midnight so it shows up as the next day’s entry and there is no way to change it to the date it pertains to. this is also a problem if you mistakenly date any post. please fix this! ### 5/5 — This really helped me see the effects of my diet *2020-07-03, version 1.3.1* The app helped me have more discipline tracking my progress and writing down what my skin enjoyed most. The skin care products are well described and there a lot of options to pick from. I can see what they are using and what is working/not working rather than seeing all kinds of glowing commercials that I never know if they are real or not! This is about real people and real products...giving real results! But 2/3 times I open the app, a blank white screen is all that I see. I tried to uninstall it and reinstall but I keep having the same problem. Seems like with the new update all my progress pics are gone even though it shows the number of entries I’ve made. My skin has now cleared up significantly and I loved seeing the progress of my skin through pictures; but ever since the update all that progress is now gone :( I can't seem to add an entry anymore either. Anyways, it was fun reviewing products with everyone on this app and sharing our love for skin care together but this app regressed hard :( ### 1/5 — Nope *2022-11-02, version 1.3.5* Sorry but if I have to make an account to track my skincare then you’re shady. I don’t trust it. Why do I need to make an account for this I don’t want to make an account for every little thing. Get outta here. At least let people check it out if you must make people sign up. Every time I try to add something extra- a note, or a skincare product to my daily entry it glitches and deletes everything, including the photos. You have to pay for premium to download your photos if you decide to try something else. ### 1/5 — Not helpful *2021-10-07, version 1.3.5* If you don’t watch the 30 second add it will delete your entire log you just made- and delete the pictures. It may be that I’m using an old phone, but I shouldn’t have to retype a day’s log three or four times over the course of 15 minutes before the app decides to register it. If the buttons responded to being pushed, this would have 5 stars. When asked about my day’s stress level, usually the only thing causing stress is this app itself. ### 1/5 — Entires not saving *2020-06-17, version 1.3* I actually suspect the ads have something to do with it because when I click to save they don’t trigger the ads sometimes and then won’t save the post at all. Also when and ad is triggered there is a X to click out early, after doing that I’m not able to save the entry. Please fix the ad functionality if you’re going to have them on there. Ads should not interfere with the usability of the product. Also, the cost is way too high for this product. This is definitely an app I would pay a one time price of maybe $5 for, but nothing more. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Simple, great organization *2020-08-29, version 1.3.2* I love that I can view all my past pictures in one screen - it makes it so easy to see how my skin has changed over time! I also love that there are no in-app purchases, and that the ads are only five seconds long. I’d love for the app to have a general highlighter feature to mark days that we think are important (first day using a new product, cutting out a certain food, or taking a supplement). Would also love for the sleep option to include 9+ hours, and for there to be an “exercise” field (even a check box would be great). Other than that, love the categories and the cute user interface! I also like how you can add your products that you use in the log and even rate your products and share them to those who use the app. With this, I was able to try out a new product someone rated and recommended and I wouldn’t have thought to use it. The interface is cute and simple and easy to get around. There’s a section where you can read reviews from other users on skincare products and it’s really helped me out a lot. Before I found this app I was so lazy about my skin and I look forward to updates and seeing results! ### 5/5 — Good App *2020-08-16, version 1.3.2* It’s free to use, so that’s good, but you do have to pay in order to remove ads. Besides that, I think everything else with it is fine. Others have said that they could just use their Notes and that this doesn’t do much, but I don’t feel that way. Sure, you could put this all in your personal notes on your phone, but this app helps organize everything by dates and allows photos as well as allows you to list any products or supplements you use, how much water you drank (important for keeping yourself and your skin hydrated) and it also has an option to select if you were currently on your menstrual cycle. That last part is important, because that can usually cause acne and it’s good to keep track of when you may have flare-ups so that you’re prepared.
