### 5/5 — My favourite iPhone game

*2025-02-24, version 1.22*

I love this game. Just finished all 10,000 levels and I think I’ll delete the app and restart. Also going to try the Mars version, which I think is never ending. It’s been a joy picking this game up and going through the levels. And my kids love playing it, too.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2025-02-11, version 1.22*

10,000 levels, some of which seem impossible but aren’t. Got a lot of play out of this minimalist, clever game.

### 3/5 — Fun game, some issues

*2025-01-04, version 1.22*

Made it to hole 2866 and it’s not possible to complete with the game physics. I have had other tough holes that initially I saw no way to complete them, but this hold I’m in is actually impossible. No way to refresh or a menu option or anything.

### 5/5 — Perfect for podcasts

*2024-12-18, version 1.22*

Perfect game to keep your hands and eyes occupied while listening to podcasts on a plane/train/bus

### 5/5 — My most played game

*2024-11-09, version 1.22*

Brilliant, delectable, calming. Made it to hole 10,000 and not a single regret. Truly a masterpiece.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2024-11-06, version 1.22*

I met the developer he asked me to write this

### 5/5 — Transferring Saved Game

*2024-10-15, version 1.22*

First off, this game rocks. I’ve had it for years and I still come back to it regularly. I’m at hole 3,437. But it, it’s great!

On another note, this game is one reason I haven’t switched to the Pixel Fold I’ve been eyeballing. I don’t want to lose my progress! Can the devs offer any insight on how I might go about transferring the game data, even if hacky?

Thanks for the great app.

### 5/5 — the best game

*2024-09-11, version 1.22*

my favourite game

### 3/5 — Mechanics

*2024-05-28, version 1.22*

The simplicity doesn’t bother me. But on iPhone there literally isn’t enough room to move finger in order to create sufficient launch angle off the tee in most instances.

### 5/5 — My fourth download

*2024-02-28, version 1.22*

Did you know that after the 10,000th hole, you can delete the app and download it again to go back to the beginning? This will be my fourth download. Desert golfing is a simple pleasure.

### 5/5 — The way games should be

*2023-07-09, version 1.22*

Fun, simple, relaxing, and just enough challenge to be interesting. The game has got me through some dark moments in life. Many thanks to the developer. I hope it carries on.

### 3/5 — Great, with one flaw

*2023-06-30, version 1.22*

It’s a simple and pleasant game, but since it’s procedurally generated it can sometimes draw levels that are physically impossible to complete. With no options menu or reset button, you’re forced to delete and reinstall the app to start over.

### 5/5 — Finally finished the game!

*2023-06-02, version 1.22*

Got to hole 10,000 with 28,087 shots so time to start again and see if I beat that :)

### 5/5 — Timeless, Meditative, Perfect

*2023-05-01, version 1.22*

There is nothing but you, sand, and the ball. Was that a cloud?

### 5/5 — Completed it twice. Best game ever

*2023-04-25, version 1.22*

I just completed my second play through. It does end after 10,000 holes. It is a sad moment. I guess you have to delete the game and reinstall to start again.

I just wish there were more games like it so I could have a little more variety in this area of my life. It’s endlessly playable, and you can just immediately start playing as soon as you open it. So it is a wonderful replacement for the reflex action of reaching for your phone to go doomscrolling. And there’s nothing spammy about it. And the physics is just complex enough that you can develop a real muscle memory skill over time, and notice how good you are getting by how often you get mindless hole-in-ones.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Holes on narrow hills

*2025-08-17, version 1.22*

Don’t put holes on top of narrow hills. Makes it nearly impossible unless you sink it from the air. Assuredly destroys your average score. Do better developer.

### 1/5 — Not worth money

*2025-01-08, version 1.22*

Go get a free game that’s way more fun like coffee golf.

### 1/5 — Should be free.

*2024-05-03, version 1.22*

This game came highly recommended online so I thought I'd give it a go since I only have access to mobile games for a bit. I don't understand the reviews. There are no rewards, upgrades, progression, level replays, nothing. All you can do in this game is hit the ball, which becomes monotonous and boring after just a few minutes. This isn't artistic minimalism, this is laziness. You can have a minimalist game and still have actual gameplay. At least ball cosmetics or some sort of upgrades would be massive. Being able to replay a level to improve would be huge. Any semblance of gameplay would make this a fun game, but it will never get any of those things. This game is as big a waste of money as it is time. Unless you are senile and can't understand even basic gameplay mechanics, look elsewhere, as this game has nothing to offer. I have never gotten bored of a game faster, I cant imagine anyone playing this for more than 10 minutes. The amount of 5 star reviews on this game are absurd, and they all praise the minimalism, but like I said before, this game doesn't feel minimalist, it feels like a half baked work in progress that was abandoned and then sold for money. I wouldn't be writing a review if it were free, but charging money for something like this is completely absurd, as I can't imagine this took even a bit of effort to make.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2023-10-03, version 1.22*

If you get stuck, there’s no way to move forward. The developers should add the ability to skip a level if it becomes too frustrating.

### 1/5 — Total waste of time

*2023-04-06, version 1.22*

Even for free, it would be too expensive.

### 1/5 — Worst game I've ever purchased!

*2022-09-10, version 1.22*

Don't waste your money or time on the absolute piece of rubbish. Everything about this game is terrible, from the terrible graphics to the diabolical physics. I have deleted the game and submitted a refund request, which I have never done for any of the hundreds of apps I've previously purchased. What I won't be getting back is my precious time completely wasted on this useless pile of $%@&!!!.

### 1/5 — Absolute waste of money

*2022-01-29, version 1.22*

I don’t know why so many people love this game. This is the least amount of effort I’ve seen put into a piece of software on this store and these people have the gall to charge two dollars for it. It’s boring, repetitive, frustrating, and not engaging in the slightest. If you enjoy wasting inconsequential amounts of money on useless trash, then this game is for you.

### 1/5 — Annoying that score can’t be reset

*2020-11-17*

Like the minimal design but there is quite a bit of room to improve gameplay experience.

### 1/5 — Promises infinity, the only infinite thing is my sadness

*2020-03-26, version 1.22*

I have been playing this game now for almost a year, on a daily basis. Social isolation due to COVID-19 starts, and then bam, just as I settle in for 3 months of isolation, the game leaves me hanging on 10,000 holes.

I’m sitting here now a shell of the man who started the evening. I now hold no hope for humanity making it through the year.

I’m broken, thanks Desert Golf.

### 1/5 — Enttäuschend...

*2020-03-15*

### 5/5 — Transferring Saved Game

*2026-05-22, version 1.22*

Update. I made it to the end of the game today, hole 10,001. I played off and on from Nov 8th 2021 to May 22nd 2026. ⛳️

### 5/5 — Been playing it for 7 years

*2026-04-02, version 1.22*

definitely worth it, the most relaxing but fun game i've ever had on my phone

### 5/5 — Je n'ai toujours pas trouvé mieux

*2026-03-12*

### 5/5 — Infinity is 10000 holes

*2025-11-09, version 1.22*

Delightfully simple

### 5/5 — One of the few Decent Mobile Games

*2025-08-04, version 1.22*

Games on phones or tablets never play well, this is the exception

### 5/5 — Best I’m bored game of all time

*2025-06-01, version 1.22*

No options, settings, or explanation, just the desert and a ball. I just completed the game and feel a sense of loss, it’s over? Make another!

### 5/5 — Still the greatest ever

*2025-03-25, version 1.22*

The best mobile game ever made? Timeless and endless. I could keep playing forever.
