### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-01-23, version 2.2.4*

Data doesn’t save, help desk does not respond.

### 1/5 — Does not sync data to Apple health

*2021-11-27, version 2.2.4*

Tried to get it to work but I can not get it to write data to Apple health

### 1/5 — No longer use the app at all

*2021-02-24, version 2.0*

It’s been over a month since the 2.0 version was released and in that time I’ve completely stopped using the app other than to manually get a tally of calories burned. It’s now completely useless.
1. The new “active save” means that if you attempt to leave the sensor tab, your daily progress toward goals will be completely wiped out.
2. Like most people, my phone is not “active” with the DeskCycle app open all day. That is not feasible. I have to do other things in my phone and my phone goes dark after a few moments of inactivity. When this happens, my activity is sometimes reset and not saved to my account. It sounds like, according to DeskCycle, if you don’t have the app up and active (and, of course, now you have to be on the Sensor tab due to the issue mentioned in #1), then all bets are off. The last version did not work like this and this is definitely a huge step back.
3. Doesn’t automatically save to Fitbit anymore as pointed out by other users.
4. Manual entry saves as a “run” and its hit or miss as to when it saves. Not ideal but the least of this app’s problems.

I come back to the store on occasion to see if there is an update but otherwise this app is now just taking up space on my phone. Too bad. I was a DAILY user of this app and liked the way it worked and now it’s unusable.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Sync

*2021-02-01, version 2.0*

Doesn’t sync with anything. Tried setting it up to sync with Apple Health app and Fitbit app. Won’t sync with either. I will have to manually input my data and manually add it to other apps.

### 2/5 — User unfriendly

*2021-01-31, version 2.0*

Like many, I lost all my data with the update. But okay. Start fresh. The problem is that you now have to save the data from the sensor. It used to just be saved. It was much more convenient. Now if you accidentally forget, tough luck for you. The DeskCycle itself is such a nice product. It’s sad that it’s paired with this currently substandard software. The old version had room for improvement, but compared to this iteration it was wonderful. So sad.

### 1/5 — Upgrade is a complete failure!

*2021-01-30, version 2.0*

Since your last up grade I can no longer save results and or connect with my Fitbit. I spent over an hour on the phone with Fitbit only to realize it was an issue with your App! I called the DeskCycle support number next which was a week ago and was told your server was having issues and I would be contacted when they were corrected but I would think after a week of being unable to fix the problem you would advert back to the old version until you can fix the issues in your new version. Very disappointed. I only chose the DeskCycle 2 because it connected to Fitbit. Again I never had any of the problems the other reviewers mentioned before you made your upgrade. I’m still waiting for a solution.

### 1/5 — Inflating Calories Burned

*2021-01-28, version 2.0*

Current version seems to be grossly inflating the number of calories burned when saving results.

### 1/5 — Version 2 not syncing

*2021-01-26, version 2.0*

Since the update to v2.0, app no longer syncs with Fitbit

### 1/5 — Update Caused More Problems

*2021-01-24, version 2.0*

The update wiped away all my previous data from the app. (If you synced data to the iOS health app, the old data is there.)

Since the update, the app requires me to press a button to save sensor data — and then it inaccurately records the data. For example, if the sensor data shows that I walked 2.47 miles, the app rounds down once I press save - it records it as 2 miles.
2.75 sensor miles rounds up to 3 when saved.

Which means it is now reporting incorrect miles to the iOS health app.

In order to keep proper track of my walking miles, I have to manually record them. (Step and other stats seem to be recorded as is.)

### 2/5 — Looks like you deleted previous data

*2021-01-22, version 2.0*

The big squashing update in 2021 seemed to have removed 1.5 years of data. I’d have to say, not the best showing for bug fixes. Odd that I do have some data from 2019. WTG.

### 2/5 — Recent Update

*2021-01-21, version 2.0*

The most recent update deleted all of my Bluetooth data since September.

### 1/5 — Downgraded app

*2021-01-21, version 2.0*

I lost all my info from the past year when I “upgraded” to new version. This upgraded version is not ideal. Now every time I go to a different function screen the count restarts when I go back to the sensor screen! I can’t see when I reached my target steps for the day easily... this app needs a lot of work. The previous version had its shortcomings, but this version is horrible. So upset that I lost my past year’s statistics :(

### 2/5 — Unreliable app data

*2021-01-21, version 2.0*

App was working great and I loved seeing all my pedaling results. However, I opened the app today and ALL my data/progress from when I first started using the app over a month ago was ALL deleted. Highly upset because seeing my progress was a huge help.

Would like to know why all my data was randomly deleted from the app. And how to get it back. I have an account set up etc

### 2/5 — Lacks a lot of simple features

*2020-05-17, version 1.03*

You have to start this app for it to communicate with your Apple health everyday. Finding your workout data is not easy once it is synced.

Workouts don’t at all sync with activity, but that may be an Apple thing. It will track your workouts but remember to start the app everyday before you start.

Frankly I’ve mostly stopped using the sensor and relying on the analog device on my desk instead. Love my DeskCycle, not so crazy about their Bluetooth sensor ($30 additional) or app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is Garbage

*2023-02-23, version 2.2.4*

This is probably the worst app I have ever used. There’s no decent documentation on how to sync stats to your Fitbit or even how to use the app. I thought I figured it out, but the app doesn’t work consistently. Support is little help as all they have to work with is knowledge articles so you can’t really get support if it’s a complex problem. It’s too bad as the DeskCycle is a solid piece of equipment. The app and corresponding support degrade the experience. One star for this app is one star too many.

### 1/5 — DeskCycle equals useless

*2023-02-21, version 2.2.4*

Useless App! The company needs to find a fix to the app, it’s constantly not working.

### 1/5 — Server Error

*2023-02-02, version 2.2.4*

Everything I do returns a server error. Create an account, server error. Try to create again, server error and email already used. Go to login with said email, server error. Try to do forgot password, server error. What a joke! The bike is nice but it’s a boat anchor as far as I’m concerned without being able to connect it to anything. Last update to the app was over a year ago so there seems to be little hope of support.

If you’re thinking about buying the bike because of being able to connect it to Apple health, don’t waste your money like I did.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-01-24, version 2.2.4*

I can’t log into the app. I’ve never been able. Contacted customer service and they act like it’s user malfunction, want pictures of errors, and then tell you to reset your password and use incognito. I did all that before contacting them and even installed and reinstalled app. Nothing works. There is no functionality or customer service behind the app.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-01-03, version 2.2.4*

I have a health issue that has kept me inactive for months. I’m trying to build back up to being able to take my walks, so invested in the DeskCycle. The pedal bike itself works just fine, but this app is useless. Because I’m starting out so slowly, I can’t record my activity because the pedal speed is too low to calculate my calories. I don’t care about the calories; I care about the exercise.

I wanted to buy the Bluetooth sensor to hook it up to my Apple Watch but the sensor is not available anywhere. The readout on the LCD display is so dark that I literally need to shine a flashlight on it to be able to see what the figures. In the end, I strapped my Fitbit around my ankle so that I can get some kind of report on what I do.

### 1/5 — Will not save data, nor sync with Fitbit

*2022-11-30, version 2.2.4*

I bought this cycle because it touted that it would work with Fitbit. Found out you need to purchase a device, which I did.
Never could get it to sync, can’t even get its app to save data.
I’m sure you don’t care.

### 1/5 — App never works

*2022-09-24, version 2.2.4*

It always logs me out mid use, makes me reset my password every time, and doesn’t connect to my Fitbit app when it says it does.

### 1/5 — Login impossible

*2022-09-12, version 2.2.4*

How to use this app remains a mystery to me. I can’t even login as it keeps telling me my email address has already been taken. I created an online account and apparently that means you can’t use the app. Don’t waste your time with this. It needs waaaaayy too much work to be truly functional and it needs instructions on how to use it.

### 1/5 — Cannot even create an account

*2022-04-21, version 2.2.4*

I can’t even get the app up and going.
I try to create an account and get a white screen, like it scrolls me down to the bottom of a page and I can’t scroll up to click submit.
Very annoying

### 1/5 — App & website have ceased to work

*2022-04-18, version 2.2.4*

The app no longer works & the customer service on the website cannot be found or contacted. What is going on? No warning or information messages were sent to customers. Very disappointed & irritated.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2023-01-29, version 2.2.4*

I purchased the DeskCycle Bluetooth sensor from Amazon. It automatically records all of my DeskCycle activity. I love that I can set goals. I can easily get 15,000 steps per day while working at my desk. Thank You!

### 5/5 — Nice App

*2019-04-25, version 1.0.1*

I love my DeskCycle, and the app is a great addition! It’s nice to be able to track calories burned and progress over time. I had no problems logging in, unlike the review below.

### 4/5 — Apple Watch

*2022-03-02, version 2.2.4*

Would be better if there was a way to connect with apple watch

### 3/5 — Upgrade to new version to get it working again

*2021-01-24, version 2.0*

To others who haven’t been able to log their data the past few days: you need to upgrade the app to the new version. Then you’ll stop getting the “no internet connection” message and start logging again. It didn’t restore my data, but I had already transferred most of it to my Fitbit app so I only lost a few days. I wish the Bluetooth sensor would get back in stock so I don’t have to log my data manually.

### 3/5 — Latest update is a UX break

*2021-01-22, version 2.0*

I use the Bluetooth sensor and sync to apple health. The latest app update now pops up a modal dialog asking if you want to save you progress every time you navigate away from the sensor tab. It should always save the data; the whole point of paying for the sensor was to automate tracking!

### 3/5 — Needs some improvement for tracking and syncing

*2020-04-11, version 1.03*

App is useful when synced to the desk cycle via the Bluetooth device. However it needs a background app refresh or something that it is always running in the background. I was cycling for twenty minutes before realizing that it was not syncing with my phone because the app was not open on my phone.

### 3/5 — App is rough but useful

*2019-12-30, version 1.03*

Had connectivity issues with the app around Christmas, but after contacting support they were sorted out and I was able to login.

App is a little rough around the edges and doesn’t quite has that iOS quality look and feel, but it does what it need to do and very well.

It would be nice if the instructions to sync to Apple Health were more clear, instead of almost hidden. In case you’re looking for that just go to More->My Account->Apple Health.

I love that the data from the Bluetooth sensor is updated and synced to Apple Health live. And overall I’m really happy with my DeskCycle. 😊

### 3/5 — Ok App

*2019-07-30, version 1.02*

This app is ok and lets me record the time and distance from my DeskCycle. My only complaint so far is that my active minutes don’t sync to my Fitbit app. The step conversion does so on my Fitbit app it looks like I’ve walked a lot but have no active minutes to go along with the steps.

### 3/5 — Bugged

*2019-04-01, version 1.0*

The app keeps changing gender to male.

### 2/5 — So frustrating!

*2022-12-31, version 2.2.4*

Why can’t it automatically save my progress if I accidentally clear the app!!!!

So frustrating especially with multiple hours of peddling and all that information lost
