On a traditional hardware calculator, plotting an equation requires navigating tedious menus and waiting for lines to render pixel-by-pixel. When you want to use it as your default calculator, you have to wast 1/5 of your screen on a graph. Also, the buttons are not sized for this. But you should always use this app at all times DO NOT DELETE DESMOS. I like the way you can listen to your graph you make and this is great for a math science project! Desmos is the best graphic app that you can get. It has no in app purchases and is really useful for 12 grade math. So if you type 1 (x) it’s just a slanted line. But for 1 |x| it’s different. But when I saw that Desmos, my LOVE, doesn’t have many reviews, I knew I’d have to leave one. I have used this app for years, and its utility cannot be understated. I used it in high school when I didn’t know where my graphing or scientific calculator was for homework, and I did the same through college as I worked on my engineering degree. It has always been a lifesaver. In all honesty, it’s probably a timesaver too, insofar as it is easier to quickly type and navigate to points of interest on a graph. I found it useful to save various physical coefficients to a variable to reduce time spent typing. And, while I know this is also possible on calculators, saving various files with different coefficients allows for quick and easy referencing and utilization. It is an incredible asset for mathematical work. That being said, Desmos is somehow FUN too. There are a litany of features you won’t find on calculators, such as creating custom colors and even audio tones. I’ve spent a good chunk of time listening to various functions and creating fun soundboards. There are so many possibilities with this app. TLDR: Desmos does everything your graphing calculator can do, but on your phone. There are also a bunch of features in Desmos that aren’t possible with graphing calculators, making this an incredible resource. Please try Desmos! ### 5/5 — Insane tool for FREE!? *2025-12-13, version 7.37.0* How is this tool so good for being free? The developers did an amazing job on this app! You can even apply derivatives and integrals on functions, create polygons, make music (with multiple overtones to synthesize any sound), and so much more! ### 5/5 — Desmos is the light of my life *2025-12-11, version 7.37.0* Last year after my neighbour hit my cat Whith a car I thought i was at my lowest but the Powers of Desmos saved me yet again 🥰 ### 5/5 — Should be used in every school *2025-12-08, version 7.37.0* As a student with a love for math but a great struggle with how abstract everything can be , I credit Desmos and Mrs Hasty (Big respect Miss, you’re the best!) for passing highschool calculus. Desmos allowed and encouraged to plot the expressions I was integrating or differentiating, and check them against the original function. Between the visual demonstration of a ruler tracing a parabola between my teachers hand and my head I shall never forget a +C again. Mrs Hasty would never hurt a student to be clear, she just had a great sense of humour.
