Then this should easily be a 5 star rating. *2025-02-20, version 3.3.9* I first got this app a few years ago and it worked perfectly. Now it randomly splits words and they can’t be fixed when I copy and paste a script from an email or word doc. It has really compromised the use for my clients. Please please fix!! Surely it must be a very easy thing to do? ### 2/5 — Please please pleaseee fix these bugs *2025-02-09, version 3.3.9* The Teleprompter is nice and the packaging it comes in is great along with a carrying case. Unfortunately, the app that you have to use with the Teleprompter is absolutely awful. When I try to import files, nothing happens when I copy and paste text and go to use it. It changes the word spacing, I try to go fix it and come back b but it will still be laid out weird making it difficult to read and having to constantly start over. It’s extremely disappointing because the Teleprompter itself like I said before is nice, but I am searching for a different option as far as how to read off my prompts. I’m truly hoping they can get these bugs fixed and make a more compatible app for this Teleprompter. ### 2/5 — updates are making it nearly unusable *2024-11-08, version 3.3.4* The latest update is terrible! The app has no function to use the remote at all. A video instruction says Desview premium but it is no where to be found. I am downloading teleprompterPAD to use its remote. I wouldn’t putchased its device if I was not able to use its remote. ### 2/5 — Incredibly Jumpy … *2024-06-13, version 3.3.1* I give Desview a 2-star opposed to 1-star due to its excellent and lightweight teleprompter equipment. I was also excited to see that it came with a remote! Convenient right? Wrong. We constantly found it more reliable to use our fingers to start and stop the prompter as the remote would frequently cause the script to jump back to the beginning or close the app down entirely. I do not recommended downloading this software. Sometimes the whole package is just to good to be true. If you are reading this and have already bought Desview’s teleprompter equipment, I suggest using it with a more reliable app that you may unfortunately have to pay an additional cost for. ### 1/5 — Buggy App *2024-03-21, version 3.3.1* It’s buggy and doesn’t seem to have anyone caring for it. You can only use teleprompter and have to reach up and hit play. Very unprofessional. It will not work in landscape mode, so when you put your phone or iPad into the holder you can’t read the copy!! The design sounded great. But when it arrived (1) I found the set up directions extremely frustrating because they are so minimalist and the illustrations hardly help and (2) the remote control doesn’t turn on. I even drove half an hour to get fresh batteries to see if that was the problem. It wasn’t. Too bad desview. Problems: -doesn’t remember settings from previous use -remote controls completely out of whack -text jumps back to intro randomly when being used -speed increments too far apart -updating the app also wiped out all old texts All in all, impossible to use. Bring the old one back and stop wasting time and money on “improvements.” ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Nothing but bugs *2025-11-13, version 3.4.0* This is the most ridiculously unreliable frustrating app I have ever used. Sometimes it works perfectly connects, seamlessly with my laptop to cut and paste text across and allowing me to edit spaces and text within the app. However, more often than not the keyboard disappears, and there is no way to make amendments once the text is copied across. Sometimes the paste function is not existent either . This version is unusable. You can’t edit the text, all the navigation is in either Chinese or Korean, even when you select English!! The edge of the text box is now the limit of the device so the text gets cut off when scrolling over the back camera!!! How can you release this update?? Bought this setup 9.10.23 You can now copy paste into the app And it works fine. Refer to the reviews on Amazon for better reflection of this product. I would say it's well worth it for the prices I paid for it in Australia ($100). ### 5/5 — Feb 2021 Review - Bug Fixed! *2021-02-18, version 2.8* I just received this device today in the mail. It was super easy to setup and download the app for it. Once I connected the remote to my phone via Bluetooth, I then opened the app. The first thing that appeared was a composition pop up. I copied and pasted my text from a document that I had open in the background. Then I hit save at the bottom of this composer. My text was now saved as one of the items that I could select. Once I selected it, my phone automatically went into teleprompter mode and I was able to adjust the settings just fine by tapping on the “hamburger“ three lines menu. The remote work fine and the app worked fine. I tested my recording to see if the words would appear in my video and thankfully they did not. Overall I give this product 5 starts because I didn’t have any issues once I received it. Sorry for those of you who experienced something different the first time. It’s probably because of you that the company made these adjustments. ### 4/5 — Works good on iPhone X *2022-11-28, version 3.2.5* Works good on iPhone X, iOs 16.1.1. No bugs. The remote is working properly as well. Bought the teleprompter a week ago. Uploaded the software a week ago. Not a 5-star rate, because two times the app turned back to the beginning, but the document (pasted from MS Word) was very long - 22 pages. So, for a 8 hours shooting session the result is very satisfactory. ### 4/5 — Great teleprompter- so so app… *2022-04-03, version 3.1.0* For a free teleprompter app to use with any teleprompter, having an app for IPhone and IPad is really nice. I just transitioned to using on my IPad after upgrading to the Version 3 Desview since the T3 can hold an IPad. The app isn’t perfect but works well with the remote that comes with the T3 bundle. The latest bug was fixed returning my app back to English. I wish I could import a pdf or Word doc, but copy/paste works fine. I do wish I could adjust the red reading line/level so I could place it in the center of my camera lens. With the different camera lenses available, where the red line sits is not universal to all cameras and how close you put your iPhone or iPad to the mirror. ### 4/5 — Decent *2021-04-10, version 2.8* It’s a decent app that needs to be used with the special remote and the prompter. It’s annoying that the app doesn’t just let you when there is isn’t anything in the text box, but, all you have to do is write literallt anything inside the content box such as “text” and then long press to select that “text”, followed by clicking paste. It’s a bit of a workaround, but works! 1 star docked for not just allowing pasting without the additional step. ### 3/5 — A little clunky, but can be made to work *2025-01-29, version 3.3.9* Was hesitant with all the negative reviews and I did run into some problems myself, however as of January 2025, the app does work. I would recommend to those reading that you simplify your approach, take your desired document, copy and paste the words into notepad on Windows or textedit on Mac and (important) make it plain text. Then save out a .txt file and place that .txt file somewhere you can access it from this app (you will see the options when you open it - there are a bunch.) I used DS File as I have a synology NAS server, but you can use iCloud etc. PDF or word documents gave me significant compatibility issues, however plain text files work as you might expect. A small grievance is the words are sometimes split into multiple lines, which can be uncomfortable when reading, and it’s not practical to edit this out, but it’s not impossible to deal with this. You just need to concentrate when presenting and take your time.
