I hope the Arabic language will be added to it ### 5/5 — I want more! *2023-08-21* From the second I downloaded the game to the very end I couldn't put it down. Everything was perfect. The music was beautiful and the characters had so much story to each one of them. The only mistake I noticed was that when asked, Folder had no interest in himself. Other than that, this has been my favorite app in a very long time. Still...a year+ later I want a sequel. The art style and gameplay being a match made in heaven for me. So I wondered if the wonderfully charming detective Grimoire had another game.......and then I stumbled across this beauty! Truly a magnificent game. I had to keep going so that I could unravel the story right to the end. The voice actors are perfectly placed and the animations are terrifically done. Such a treasure, I enjoyed every moment. I hope that Grimoire will return again in a new story. Both are amazing. The plot, the clues, graphics, and voice acting. It’s a terrific mystery/ puzzle game. I’ve played many mystery games, and this franchise is still my favorite. I’m so excited and cannot wait for what’s to come in the Grimoire Series. It’s just as amazing as the other and Definitely worth what I payed. At the end of this one though it said to be continued, but tangle tower didn’t seem to be the continuation of this story. The characters are adorable and whimsical. Quick witted humor. It’s a detective game and while there is moving around and pointing and clicking, it’s not a traditional point and click adventure game if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s hard to know which direction you came from, and after a bit, I discovered there is a map that will take you anywhere you want to go so thanks for that. It’s a relatively short game and it may make you feel like you’re almost an outsider and the characters interact without you. They come up with their own pre-prepared dialog and most things they say are clues. There really aren’t any puzzles per say but everything advances the sleuthing. It’s a process of information and elimination and you might even consider it educational in practical thinking. This game would be more appealing to younger audiences. Again, what they’ve done here is done to perfection and it deserves the 5 stars I gave it, but I needed more head scratching adventuring. ### 5/5 — Made improvements! *2021-02-19, version 1.1* This game and Tangle tower took so much time and effort to make, I played this game after tangle tower and being the prequel was really cool. Tangle tower has more interesting characters, and better UI. But Detective Grimoire is still amazing. I still think that people don’t realize how hard the devs worked to make these games. Die Idee der Geschichte klingt auch vielversprechend und lobend erwähnt werden sollte, dass die Dialoge und deren Vertonung ebenso liebevoll gemacht sind wie die Zeichnungen. Leider ist das Spiel inhaltlich eine große Enttäuschung. Nicht nur sind die spärlich eingestreuten Mini-Rätsel völlig lächerlich (etwa: suche aus vier Schlüsseln zwei passende für die entsprechend geformten Schlüssellöcher), die Geschichte ist auch absolut gradlinig erzählt. In den Dialogen müssen beispielsweise nicht mal mit entsprechenden Indizien Themen angeregt werden, sondern es gilt nur die Inhalte durchzuklicken. Auch die im Screenshot zu sehende Slot Machine, um Zusammenhänge zu erstellen, auf die ich sehr gespannt war, ist völlig witzlos - meist ist absolut unmissverständlich, was in die Lücken gehört. An manchen Stellen habe ich lediglich etwas länger gebraucht, weil ich zunächst nicht verstanden hatte, dass ich tatsächlich eine Informationen, die ich doch schon längst hatte, noch mal wiederholen sollte. Noch dazu spoilert sich das Spiel manchmal selbst, etwa wenn wir eine Fotografie finden, die im Inventar mit Informationen beschrieben wird, die wir gar nicht haben. Dazu beträgt die Spielzeit höchstens ein paar Stunden, ich war an keinem halben Tag durch und habe mich ab der Hälfte sehr gelangweilt. Es steht schnell fest, wie die Tat begangen wurde und wer es war - ich hatte noch fest mit einem Twist gerechnet, aber nicht mal der kam. Stattdessen muss man sich nur durch die vorgekaute und langarmige Lösung klicken. ### 1/5 — Cant even start the first episode. *2016-08-28, version 1.0.2* It keep saying 'oops... The game is pretty stable - but it crashed once and apparently that was when I was to receive a key to the office so I never got the key. However the game just let me play and I finally got to a point where, without the key (which the "hints" think I have it) I cannot advance despite being about 80% through the mystery. I don't want to replay the whole thing just to get to the end - so basically I feel cheated out of my money. It's probably a good game, unless your one of the ones that gets cheated. Highly recommend this as well as the other Detective Grimoire games. ### 5/5 — Such a good game it’s a mystery itself *2025-09-04, version 1.1* I had played tangle tower before this game and loved it check out my review on that game I figured out about this game afterwards Hungry for another adventure with Grimoire and it’s a lot better than I expected full of fun and interesting characters Grimoire’s sarcastic humor would always leave me with a smile they say the game is to short but I think it’s a reasonable time it was the first game with him I think the games can only get better another complaint i read was that it crashes a lot but I’ve only had this happen once and it does auto save frequently so I wouldn’t be to worried if you need a new type of game and are a fan of mystery than this is the game for you $3 very well spent. ### 5/5 — So freaking good *2024-11-15, version 1.1* This is definitely a murder mystery game you really don’t wanna miss out on; the fact that it’s animated, has great audio, and voice acting AND has a very good storyline just amazes me. if you are looking for a murder mystery game that has unique characters and a funny detective then I highly suggest this one. The art and style is a bit more bright and pops a bit more, with some parts of the interface more intuitive, or perhaps having played Tangle Tower I now knew at the start you could talk to witnesses/suspects about clues and other characters. The voice acting and story aren't quite as good as in Tangle Tower, which also had more potential motives and explanations as you learn about the house and its inhabitants. you move toward the final reveal. I also miss the banter between two detectives, and there is a character in this one that reminds me way too much of that child in The Secret of Kells and also serves mainly as a story accelerator. Finally, I prefer the map navigation of the first game. Overall, however, this is still a fun game and a recommended purchase.
