I pick an episode, the screen goes black, I have to restart the app. Thats about as far as Ive ever got with it. Would love to get this part of the membership benefits that I pay for!! ### 1/5 — Can’t watch content in Canada *2019-09-01, version 4.4.11* Despite the app being on the Canadian App Store, you cannot watch content unless you are in the US or have an American IP address via a VPN. I would assume 98% of people who download the PBS are wanting to watch the content PBS provides but alas, Canada is (yet again) cut out from content. This is unless you’re willing to go through extreme lengths (VPN etc.) to watch it. I would happily pay PBS to watch its content library in Canada, but they really just don’t seem interested in the Canadian market. This is why I rate this app so low. It doesn’t really do much. ### 1/5 — Useless *2018-09-29, version 3.9.8* This doesn’t work at all. I didn’t touch the “donate” button which might have been the only one they cared about. Besides flakey video playback (sound with a blank screen more common these days), I don't understand why they removed all old episodes of shows like This Old House. Trying to find a show is not easy either. Overall, a very terrible app experience. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work *2016-04-06, version 3.7.18* None of the videos will play. Always get an error message saying "video unavailable". Worst app I have come across. ### 1/5 — Doesn't work.... *2016-02-06, version 3.7.13* I just downloaded the app but it doesn't work. The headings appear but there are just spinning circles where the videos should be. They spin for about 3 seconds and then the app shuts down. Just Fantastic! A fix would be appreciated....sooner rather than later. The problem with this app is that you cannot easily see what programs are free to watch online and which are subscription-based. It is frustrating to have to work through the system, find a program you’d like to see and then be told you need to subscribe to watch that particular program. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Ideas *2022-11-01* I enjoy Sunday night shows on PBS especially Miss Scarlet and the Duke. She needs to wake up and grab that handsome man the Duke. But I’ve enjoyed all the shows and specials . It would be good if the interludes between Downton Abbey were shorter or more varied . The Nature and Nova are great as well as the travel shows. Thank you for all the entertainment. ### 5/5 — Amazing APP *2020-02-26* It seems like watching specific programs at specific times has given way to on demand viewing. This is extraordinary for DPTV.
