Not impressed….. ### 2/5 — No longer readable on phone *2022-12-15, version 5.0.0* App worked great before the update. After the update, articles no longer readable on phone. Could click on articles in previous version and have text format on phone. ### 2/5 — After an update the app crashes all the time *2019-12-23, version 4.0* The app crashes and freezes, the exercises are not any longer interlinked with the magazine. Disappointing. ### 3/5 — Hard to navigate *2019-06-24* I am very happy that Deutsch Perfekt is available as an app now, but it is very hard to navigate. ### 1/5 — Wouldn’t work - Support isn’t too great *2019-05-07, version 3.6* I downloaded and registered for a 3 month subscription. It looked like the subscription didn’t unlock features properly as I couldn’t play the audio. When I checked what I had subscribed to, it clearly showed I had subscribed to that audio portion of the app as well. The developer told me I needed to contact Apple.(?) Apple said all they could do was refund my money as the developer provides application support (which makes sense). Unfortunately, the only option I could take was to cancel the subscription and get a refund. ### 2/5 — When it works - Great App. Audio Doesn’t Work A LOT *2019-04-16, version 3.6* This is an expensive app/ subscription (in my opinion) for it to not be working as often as it is. When it works, I absolutely love it. Native speakers going line by line in very clear, well-paced, easy-to-understand speech. It really helps to learn new words, patterns and pronunciations when you hear them say it as you read it. It can be dowloaded and played offline, which is also great. The problem is the audio won't come on half the time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have waited to see if its being downloaded. Turned the device off and on. It just works when it wants to and doesn't when it doesn‘t. There is no customer service. No email or phone number. The best you get is a page with answers to some FAQs, which also doesn't help the problem. It says to just wait because it takes a while to download. App says the issues are already downloaded. Even issues I've already downloaded and listened to several times on several different days won't play again on other days the app is being buggy. Sometimes i have to go forward to the next page and then go back to get the previous page to play. Its weird. Again - very expensive to have all these problems. ### 1/5 — Do not trust *2019-03-13, version 3.6* After my PayPal charge did not not go through the company has come after me for a subscription that I have never received. I canceled subscription but cannot find a secure way to pay. Yes, a great product, but the behind the scenes management of the service is predatory. Where do I start? First, all my downloaded magazines vanished. Second, it took several attempts, seemingly going in circles and being taken to wrong web sites, to get it to recognise my Abo. Third, I’ve had to download the latest issue twice, because it disappeared a few days after the first download. Fourth, it doesn’t always remember the page where you left off, so effectively no bookmark. Fifth, tapping on a page sometimes gives plain text, as with old app, but sometimes just gives a 404 error. Sixth, the large margins are wasting vital screen space and creating unnecessarily small text, but attempting to zoom in is both inconvenient and likely to be recognised as a tap (leading to 404 error). After being a subscriber for 6 or 7 years, will I be renewing? The helpline is staffed with incredibly polite and friendly people. However, the app is completely useless. I have subscribed to all versions of this product and in spite of trying repeatedly I still cannot download a single online issue. Paragraph the app is difficult to navigate. Once again a real shame as the product is excellent. I constantly have to send emails to get it reactivated via their super slow customer service. Multiple times i purchased magazin (plus the audio trainer and workbook too) thru this app. Weeks later none of them available in the downloads. This happened now twice. I wont buy again, not recommended at all. ### 1/5 — One of the worst apps ever, unclear and expensive. *2020-01-04, version 4.0* Be careful while using this app, whenever it is possible they offer you free online months for e readings. This is absolutely untrue. I got into one of those subscriptions and then I received many letters asking me for money. I was totally unaware of it, also because those e papers appeared on an online archive. I did not directly receive the copies of the online paper, so I did not notice that there was a subscription going on.
