New Version is Ordinary *2016-12-07* My review is biased because Thus app was #1 BEFORE the updates. It had latitude and longitude, an alarm feature which I used a lot, and it also would take a photo of the person holding your phone. With the previous version, the thief that took my phone ended up returning the phone when they learned I had a photo of them. They couldn't get the alarm to ho off and called 12 hours later to return it. Again...Hugh fan of the OLDER VERSION. The new version is not as good as Life360 which is another app I use for location. Should have a mode were it shows you the route you have been. It's a bit buggy which could be better ( says app is not running every so often ) . Though it is nice it tells you it isn't running. All I needed to do was change the email address in my account but despite NUMEROUS requests for service I’ve had not one single response! The email address listed on my account no longer exists! Love the app just don’t expect anyone to ever contact you for support issues! **Developer response:** Apologize for not being able to get back to you in time. I have it set to be allowed to run in the background always, and I never close it. Yet I'm getting this message literally about ever 10-15 minutes. No amount of messaging the developer or sending him email has elicited a response. A great shame really because I was a strong supporter of it before this happened. Losing a £700 iPhone because it is simply now unusable is a bit much. Might as well have been stolen; at least I would have been able to make an insurance claim ### 1/5 — Not updating location reliably *2014-04-29, version 1.0.7* For the last 7 months the app does update the location for more than 48 hours at a time. I get constant notifications that the it is not updating. I don't know why it is not updating the location properly anymore but it is not worth using when it is this unreliable. ### 1/5 — Version 1.0.7 Broke It *2014-02-16, version 1.0.7* Or perhaps iOS 7.0.4, but it no longer tracks properly (should be on tower change) and keeps sending relaunch notifiers. Nothing like the original app I purchased years ago. ### 1/5 — Very useful as a replacement for native Latitude *2013-08-10, version 1.0.2* I like that, unlike the native Latitude app, this works in intervals (I use 10 minutes) between which the GPS receiver appears to be powered off. Hence, Device Locator saves battery lifetime. I would love, though, if it automatically upgraded to the aggressive "cell tower switch" method when the phone is connected to a charger and if "cell tower switch" could be turned on and off directly on the phone. As a programmer this comes in very useful because I can send my current location to my server and have custom actions be performed when I reach certain places. I'm self employed, and this is how I track my business miles. Its tracking, combined with the online subscription, means that I can see every trip I've taken, every onsite job I've done. Can't imagine having to do taxes at the end of the year without it! Want to know where I was on Oct 18, 2014? I can tell you! I've tried other apps for tracking over the years, but this is the only one that seems to take ZERO extra battery. Life360, MileIQ, Everlance... all these seem to take a huge toll on battery life. This app - nothing. This app may not have the bells and whistles of some of the others out there, but year after year, it's the one I rely on every day to track my phone!
