This prevents submissions of reports same day and I have to wait an extra day or two to submit reports. Very buggy ### 3/5 — Doesn’t let you submit if anything with a red dot isn’t filled out *2026-04-16, version 2026.1.0* Needs an option to allow us to put in a one-point proctor. ### 2/5 — Constant crashing built into DM code? *2025-01-03, version 2024.7.0* My office claimed “iPhone” is better suited for device magic, and we wouldn’t see the crashing as often… still crashes. So much so it makes me think it was built into the app as a bonus feature. If you move away from the app, for any reason, the app will crash when you return. Same goes for when your phone locks on its own. Never attempt to use battery saver on your phone, not only does it increase the crashing, but work also doesn’t save. I noticed app crashes slows, slightly, if you give app time when you return from working on another app. If you switch to another app, answer a call, send email; when you return to DM, you can not touch the screen for 15 seconds, or it will crash 80% of the time. I can see the potential of the app, but the way it was formatted for Fire Protection inspections, the time to proof read and fix all the doubling up on the same questions, questions that don’t even apply to the work that’s being performed (when there’s not a problem with the system it’ll ask for a severity and pictures). I want to believe by not being able to submit due to errors/unanswered questions is a good thing, but it’s frustrating when the unanswered questions don’t even apply to the work. I, knowing well what that meant, lost control of all my emotions. Anger, despair, confusion, and hopelessness all simultaneously. My little brother however, only being 6yrs old, didn’t understand what was happening. He just stood there; vacant and unaware. But this day in particular for me meant so much more. Not only was this the abrupt end of a chapter in my life, but it was the day that I learned that my father was not the strongest man on earth. I saw the same amount of salty tears fall from his face as mine. The man that I regarded as the strongest, toughest, most ironclad person on earth here before me, blubbering like a child. It was there I learned that my father has his weaknesses and faults like everybody else. For the longest time, even well into my older ages, that day was without a doubt the worst day of my life….until today using this program. Like seriously. Imagine being a 9yr old having a life changing existential moment, and having that moment get trumped by an app. Imagine that. I’m actually impressed. If I were a better man, I would have given this thing a 5 star rating just for defeating me. But lo, I am not that better man. My life has been changed. And not in a good way. Device magic will not download reports and struggles to far too often. It’s simple to use for logging testing locations and showing a pin overlayed on the drawing where each location was. You can upload photos from your camera roll or capture them live. ### 5/5 — Changed my review… *2025-07-03, version 2025.3.0* No one could figure out why device magic would crash so often. Neither our tech dept nor DM support. Because we are always needing to gather info from previously submitted reports, we kept “days Submissions Stored” on 180 days. Once we changed that over to 30 days or less, device magic no longer crashes. Having to go hand to hand combat daily with the app was taking up half our day; app now works perfectly, as it should.
