The Alert Schedule feature lets you schedule and customize a second set of alerts. Custom alert sounds are available, including a Vibrate-Only option on the phone for glucose alerts. The only exception is the Urgent Low Alarm, which you can’t turn off. The Always Sound setting allows you to receive certain Dexcom CGM Alerts even if your phone sound is off, set to vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This will allow you to silence calls or texts but still receive audible CGM Urgent Low Alarm and alerts: Low and High Glucose alert, Urgent Low Soon, and Rise and Fall Rate. Always Sound is on by default. A Home screen icon shows you if your Alerts will sound or not. The last update stopped Siri from being used with Dexcom so when driving that is a real problem. I called the technician and went through a whole process and then I went through a number of things myself and after three weeks I find out that it’s an issue with the last Dexcom update. Now Dexcom has asked whether a technician could phone me to go through the whole process that I’ve already tried over the last three weeks with no success. It would save everybody’s time and frustration to just say we need to do another update. And soon. ### 2/5 — App gives figures - sort of *2025-11-25* Using app for T1D Dexcom g6 monitor. Works sorts of, but many options don’t. Eg have spent hours trying to get Siri to work with it- no luck- faq and contact options give nothing in app etc. Given what we pay for the product/app - invest in it please or your competitors will have me soon! Make compatible with CarPlay to check sugars and similar maker Follow companion app compatible with Siri and car play! Seems that shortcut for CarPlay doesn’t work since iOS 26.1 and watchos requires you to go into it twice to get a figure. it’s dangerous now and urgently needs fixes. ### 2/5 — UPDATE APP for WIDGET USE PLS *2025-05-13* Since the recent update I’m no longer able to have my blood glucose readings on the lock screen of my phone (how I usually check it without opening it and going into the app) because it’s no longer there when I go to add widgets?! The same was for my Apple Watch, the widget wasn’t working for a while, I updated my Apple Watch and it’s working now however, I’ve updated my phone to the newest IOS and it hasn’t fixed anything. Hoping it’s not related to the new G7 being out and this app dying because there’s a new one.. because honestly if saving all thats spent on selling us these money making devices/ equipment to keep us alive was used on an actual ******* cure like stem cell etc, we wouldn’t be having any of these problems thanks ### 1/5 — Terrible terrible terrible *2025-03-22* This app is getting zero support now that G7 is out (monthly G7 updates compared to 10 months and counting). Ongoing messages that “we’re still testing on this iOS” (over 12 months now), I mean it literally says do not rely on it to make decisions. The widget has broken and wasn’t fixed in last update. Won’t shut up when sugar’s are high, but don’t find out I’m low until it’s too late - settings don’t change this. If this thing had only one job it would be to alert users *before* they are low, and it doesn’t do this consistently. Rate of change alerts don’t occur even when changes cross the alert threshold. But our government heavily subsidises G6 so I guess there’s no reason to stay on top of it any more? Terrible terrible terrible and dangerous to health. ### 1/5 — The app has problems with an iPhone 15 *2024-12-26* Almost 3 weeks ago now an update to the app came out in Australia and now it is unbearable. I had an iPhone 8 which is compatible with the dexcom g6 app but since the update my bgl readings were freezing up and after turning the iPhone off and on again the bgl would then update. I called dexcom technical support who after an hour of discussion where I was informing them the app update had issues I was then told that the update was to include iOS 17 and my iPhone 8 is no longer compatible with the app so I would need to purchase a iPhone 10 or higher for the app to work. We decided not to go through this problem again so that afternoon I purchased a new iPhone 15 but found I am still getting the same issues so I called the tech support once again and was now told the iPhone 15 is not compatible with the app as I am running iOS 17.1.1 I have now been provided with a dexcom reader to see my bgl levels as I cannot rely on my iPhone 15 either. The problem now is I want to purchase a dexcom t-slim X2 pump but until the app is updated the t-slim will not talk to the reader which would cause many medical problems. I definitely believe it is the updated app that has the issues not the iPhones and I’m sure Apple wouldn’t be impressed when they read this! ### 1/5 — Poor watch support *2024-08-05* Update August 2024: iOS 17 has been out almost a year now, and still the app says “Dexcom is still testing compatibility with this operating system”. Watch support is still mostly non-existent. Given the billions in revenue this company makes and the cost of these devices, it’s outrageous that they don’t give the software more support. Alarms go off continuously even after you’ve treated a high/low, with no way to snooze them and give time for it to take effect. Watch support is woefully inadequate. App reports incompatibility with the latest version of iOS even months after release. UI is limited. Features are limited. This app feels like the bare minimum effort required by Dexcom. ### 2/5 — Inconsistent *2024-05-11* While yes it has been helpful to have access to my readings via my phone or watch; the fact that it’s very inconsistent and fiddley is a pain. First off, main app on iPhone is sufficient. It has a basic layout, which is confusing at times (obviously they don’t use Apple design language, they’d rather retro fit their own “style”). App cuts out often, though not sure if app or sensor’s fault, contacted their support before and it’s apparently a know issue. The Apple Watch functionality and app is barebones at best, unusable at worst. Again, not using Apple design, retro fitting their own design language which looks like it was it was never tested, like a piece of software designs for a hospital. The complications are bare bones too. They obviously haven’t updated the complications since the original Apple Watch. THERE IS SO MUCH SPACE ON THE NEW WATCHES. Why not a graph complication, or one that has the colour bar and changes to red as your BGL levels go up? Maybe a summary complication that shows your averages or shows interesting data like comparing your readings to the previous week. I mention all this because there is in fact a better app. It’s called Glucomate, made in Australia. It has all these wonderful complications, a fresh design, falls in line with Apple design language and is updated REGULARLY. One downside though. The Dexcom app only updates Apple Health once every 3 HOURS. Honestly, for a company that charges so much for equipment and medical supplies just so us Diabetics can live easier life’s, they could put money into R&D. ### 4/5 — The app needs upgrades *2024-01-07* Don’t get me wrong, the app has improved my diabetes control enormously but it is frustrating. 1. Having to enter data individually with a large pause while it loads is annoying. Suggest clicking one button that allows you to enter carbs, fast acting insulin etc then select save would be a huge improvement. Currently selecting carbs, enter the amount, save, wait while it loads and unlocks the option to enter fast acting insulin does my head in. 2. Having the separate Clarity app to review history is horrible. Also the historical data it provides is hard to read and doesn’t allow you to see data for exercise to see if that’s a factor in readings. It would be much better to have one app that does everything. Something very similar to the Freestyle Libre app would be better. Data entry is seamless and reporting is awesome in that app. ### 1/5 — watchOS10 issues *2023-12-11* I have been using the dexcom G6 for over a year now and have had few issues. However when my Apple Watch automatically installed the new watchOS, the readings that are displayed on the complications are now displaying so small that they are unreadable. After looking at other reviews online, it has currently been over 70 days since this bug was reported & dexcom have done nothing to fix this. The whole point of purchasing an apple watch was to make life easier but unfortunately Dexcom refuse to make any changes/fixes for this issue. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2023-11-26* I have been using Dexcom since G5. In all this time the app is still the the same cumbersome tool it was when it started, every time you open the app it warns about IOS version, when you go away from the open app and come back it presents the logon screen consistently, instead of opening the results window. When my battery is running low on the G6 transmitter with 3weeks to go, it keeps on beeping with the low battery warning screen every 5min and I can’t stop it even after acknowledging the warning! Where is access to faceID for logon? I would have thought that the app was better maintained than it is considering the amount of people would be using this app for their reporting and monitoring.
