I had my eye on this game for a while because the reviews are so unanimously positive- but so far it's just meh. Maybe my bar is a little high right now because I just finished Slim Threads (amazing!) and Chants of Sennar (so unique) so this game just seems like it's trying but not quite hitting the mark. Voice acting is generally good except for the actress who does Aurora. She sounds flat and emotionless; and not in an intentional Aubrey Plaza way. I really want to like this game so I'm going to finish it regardless, and hopefully the rest of the episodes will make me change my review. I won’t pretend to know the first thing about game development or any of the nuances that must go into creating such an all around amazing game like this one. I am just a fan who is really looking forward to playing the finished game or sequel and figured reaching out wont hurt. I read one of the reviews you responded to a year ago saying the sequel will be released in 2024 but it’s just about 2025 so I’m getting a lil nervous lol. So, if you see this and have the time to respond, I (and reading the reviews many other fans as well) would love an update on when we can expect our new game! I replay this game every few months but I fear I have played it to its full extent now. I really mean this, if there is anything we can do to get the second game, I know I am willing to help in any way possible. I played this game years ago and just replayed it and they set it up in a way that made it seem like it’s unfinished and there will be more chapters or another game to follow. It will not let me enter the code for the soda fridge. I’ve done everything correctly ie got the decoder glasses and read the code on the rooftop but it doesn’t work! I’ve watched walkthrough videos to make sure I’m not doing anything wrong and I’m using the right sequence (which I am) and have tried multiple times. Gutted. I was really enjoying the game so far and thought it was well worth the money but now I can’t play it. This had really great graphics and a good interface but it was probably 80% story and chatting to characters and moving around from screen to screen and then 20% gameplay, and I just found it boring. Anyone who has rated this game highly is either under the age of seven, or special needs themselves. I completed all 4 episodes. I love adventure games. This is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. The jokes are nowhere near funny and the storyline is predictable. If I was Mexico, I’d sue the company that made it. All the best! - Jeremy ### 3/5 — Had expected so much more *2026-07-04* After playing " The Abandoned Planet" I had expected more from this games developers. Maybe it was the porting, or my expectation issues but I just cant play this further. I expected a better storyline with an intriguing main character, this seemed more bumbling layabout who had more of a cliché worthless hero feel. I had several heartaches with path selection, item screens and just bad dialogue. Many of the puzzle interactions were frustrating, I knew what to do but couldnt due to not examining the item one more time or not clicking the appropriate interaction icon, it became tedious and unenjoyable. Path selection became frustrating as I would attempt to see where I could go and wind up moving to a place I didnt wish to, I think that was more of a port issue but still frustrating.. I will say the artistry was well done and the voiced actors were well performed, but when you have one adult female who I felt should have been the star, and one supposed hero who is the complete dipolar opposite of a person you expect to be adventuring in a successful business I feel they had little to work with. Some controls were nice to have, like tapping on the path icon a few times got the character to hustle along, but I felt a skip button or the ability to move through worthless dialogue or fast traveling could have been helpful. It’s a rare gem that appeals across generations: my 17-year-old, my 10-year-old, and I all had an absolute blast playing it. It’s not often you find a game that strikes the perfect balance for such a wide age range. The story is engaging, the humor hits just right, and the mix of challenging and more relaxed puzzles keeps everyone entertained. The visuals are sharp, and the cutscenes, voice acting, and music are all top notch. Best of all, it runs flawlessly, there are no glitches, just pure fun from start to finish. The production values are first rate. Pacing is good. Story is engaging. Voice acting is very good. The puzzles are mostly of an appropriate difficulty. The only criticism I have is that a very small subset of the puzzles are overly non-intuitive, but I guess that’s the point of walk-throughs.
