The 'ticket' is just your itinerary. It doesn't include the booking number, which is what you need to show when you check in. ### 3/5 — Bug in app *2024-08-30, version 2.3.5* When I scan the QR code for the free crossing from Duty Free it opens a page in the app to complete details but then doesn’t work, just says Oops. Page works on the website but only way to use that on my phone is to delete the app!! ### 2/5 — Unable to create account *2024-08-23, version 2.3.5* Pretty fundamental, but when trying to set up a username and password despite doing everything correctly on multiple occasions, the app kept displaying the message. Something has gone wrong. The UX is pretty dire and the chatbot doesn’t chat. Let’s hope they actually travel experience is better. ### 1/5 — “Live” updates 😂 *2024-03-29* Their website’s “live” updates page has a link to the app. You press the live updates button in the app and it just opens the same static webpage back up! What a joke. About as far from live as you could possibly get. Pretty much every other form of travel gives you a true live departure board, why not DFDS Ferries? **Developer response:** You can follow our up to date departure times and schedules from "route" section in our app. In case of unexpected events, we inform our users with push notifications and update our "Live updates" website and social media channels. ### 1/5 — Not working properly *2024-01-26* Can’t add my ticket to my iPhone 13 Pro wallet! Simply doesn’t work! I tried everything the app said still doesn’t work! **Developer response:** We don't have "Add to wallet" option in our app currently. You can use "add to calendar" option to add it your calendar app, or simply use our app to show your ticket when you don't have internet. Once we have digital cabin key card feature, we will also work on "add to wallet" feature. For further feedbacks, please reach out to us from "send feedback" option under the "PROFILE" section. ### 2/5 — Poor detail *2023-09-10* Not a criticism of their boats but the app doesn’t tell you how long the voyage is or the arrival time at destination until you’ve booked! Totally useless and pointless. **Developer response:** We do show departure and arrival times of all DFDS routes, under the "ROUTES" section. If you need any assistance, please reach out to us from appsupport@dfds.com . ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2023-07-09* My name is Ivan and I want to travel with my car , I am not a passenger and not lorry driver , where is the option for simply driver with car ? **Developer response:** We are sorry to hear about that confusion. Travellers with cars are classified as passengers with vehicles. So please use "passenger" profile and then you will be able to select your vehicle details while you book your travel. ### 2/5 — Keine Buchungen einfügen. *2023-05-22, version 2.1.7* Man kann keine Überfahrten mehr einbuchen. Weder Unit-Nr. Noch Buchungsnummer werden gefunden. ### 3/5 — Scan passport feature difficult to use. *2023-02-02* I like the ability to see tickets and ferry times but found the scan passport feature impossible to use. First it says scan front of document - is this the cover or the information page? Then scan back of document? The order of pages in my passport differs from that in my husband’s new one. Another good thing would be allowing add to wallet on iPhone. ### 1/5 — Cannot make a booking *2022-03-30* Constantly getting error when trying to make a booking. Customer service is useless, as they just direct you to premium rates number. I ended up spending £20 more on competition instead to save my sanity. If they are running their ferries the same way they run they app, then I’d rather stay away **Developer response:** We are sorry about your experience. Would not scan more than one passport without clicking no, back to the menu then back to scan a passport. Then the few i scanned have all disappeared off the system. Very poor show today ### 1/5 — Log In problems *2026-06-11* I’m running the latest updates on iPhone 16. When I try to log in the app returns me to the log in page every time. ### 1/5 — Scheissdreck *2026-03-17, version 2.6.3* Funktioniert sehr scheisse. Zeigt dass Anmeldung noch möglich aber am Schalter schon gibts nicht mehr... Für was dann diese App, wenn können nicht vertrauen? Wegen eure scheiss App muss jetzt mein Sichtzeit überschreiten! ### 1/5 — Erkennt deutsche Pässe fehlerhaft *2025-09-11, version 2.5.0* Habe die App mehrfach genutzt, um für Reisegruppen Pässe einzuscannen. Im Anschluss muss „German“ ausgewählt werden und die Passnummer eingegeben werden. Das heißt dann 70x 9 Zeichen - funktional ist anders. ### 1/5 — Not good! *2025-08-22, version 2.5.0* The whole process if booking, checking in, border controll, everything is too slow, complicated and annoying. You cant get decent information on the app, where you ferry will arrive, is it on time or not. You have the check their “X” account. I already downloaded the app, now i need Twitter? No thank you. ### 1/5 — Can’t add bookings *2025-07-23* All email correspondence from DFDS actively promotes using their app. It’s utterly useless as it never finds your booking. So it’s effectively marketing nonsense and a waste your customers’ time. ### 1/5 — Won’t remember password *2025-01-30, version 2.4.0* Hopeless - keeps saying password doesn’t match, or password hasn’t the right complexity, even though correct. Reset password, gives a code, input it - says expired. ### 1/5 — App fault *2024-09-20* Booking details lost. Try to add them in again and says booking not found. Been booked since new year and it’s now September. Updated. Deleted. Downloaded. Same issue **Developer response:** We are sorry to hear about your experience. We would like to investigate it more in detail if you could reach out to us with your booking number from "report a bug" option under the Profile section. ### 1/5 — No longer able to check location of pick up trailer. *2024-07-03, version 2.3.4* Been using this app on a daily basis for a good few years to check trailer location on the docks, this feature has now disappeared leaving the app useless to the many local drivers relying on it. Now we’re back to the old days of checking riverside only to find out it’s on dockside, wasting 15 minutes of our morning. The only downside is the feature doesn’t work when you’re dropping a trailer off, it just says on customs hold every time, would be 5 star if we could see which terminal it needs dropping off too. **Developer response:** This issue is fixed now.
