### 1/5 — Broken joystick

*2015-08-04, version 1.0*

I really want to play this game. I loved it in the 90's. Unfortunately the joystick locks into the upper right corer on my iPhone 6. Please fix and I'm in for purchasing the ad-free iap.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken

*2025-09-21, version 1.1.2*

Like the other reviews say the walking isn’t as fluid as the original but you can live with it using a gamepad. The real problem is there is a bug where you can’t use one of the computers on the second level to open a locked door to progress so the game is broken.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-06-18, version 1.1.2*

Zero control, completely unplayable, as others have stated, and as for your VERY RUDE response, as to how people think controls should work. HOW ABOUT PROPERLY.

### 1/5 — Paid but can’t get through second scene

*2022-10-19, version 1.1.2*

When trying to access the computer to enter the password it won’t load. Totally stuck. Wasted money 😮‍💨

### 1/5 — Controls make it unplayable

*2020-11-08, version 1.1.1*

Game looks good, but the controls - particularly the directional control - are unresponsive and glitchy. The worst I’ve used in any game.

They need a total rewrite.

### 1/5 — Rubbish controls

*2020-05-23, version 1.1.1*

I loved this game and was happy when I found it in the store. My excitement was short lived when it came to trying to control it. Awful controls. Please fix them

### 1/5 — Crash

*2018-08-28, version 1.1.0*

The app that you’ve made for iPhone does not work correctly. I paid for the app and it crashes constantly. I have reached the final level and the game crashes every time I reload it. Please either come out with a patch or give me my money back

### 1/5 — Not the same

*2016-11-21, version 1.0.7*

The on screen controls are bad and the animation feels pretty jittery. The conversion from PC to iOS does not seem well considered.

### 1/5 — Controls need to be rethought

*2016-10-12, version 1.0.7*

This game was one of the most unique games I experienced in PC gaming. Although the graphics are true to the original, the controls on the touch screen doesn't work well. On PC, we have mechanical keys so we can immediately control the four diagonal directions quickly. Can't do that on the current implementation, and it detracts the enjoyment of the game. Hope the dev can think of a new control mechanism.

### 1/5 — Loved as a kid, controls wildly broken

*2016-08-24, version 1.0.6*

I'd love to replay this game from my childhood but the controls are comically broken.

Until they're fixed you shouldn't download this game.

### 1/5 — Great game awful controls

*2016-06-16, version 1.0.6*

Please fix the controls, its impossible to play the game.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — What a game !

*2024-01-06, version 1.1.2*

I remember when this came out on DOS in the early 90’s! Loved it !!

### 5/5 — Exceptionally good, classic game

*2021-10-12, version 1.1.2*

One of my absolute favourite games from childhood, and perfectly translated to iOS. Graphics, audio, speed all just as I remember it, and just as much fun to play!

Even if you never played the original its worth trying for its quality (of course, now retro) aesthetic and tricky gameplay. Great intro music, too…

This is actually an edit to a previous review I wrote where, like a few others here, I complained about the controls that rendered an otherwise great game functionally useless. Turns out it was a problem affecting recent iPhone models, and since then the developer has worked to fix the issues. For me, it’s now perfect!

### 5/5 — Great game from the 90's

*2016-08-14, version 1.0.6*

Played this on an older pc for many years, great to see it for iPad/iPhone!

### 4/5 — Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!?!??

*2018-01-16, version 1.1.0*

I LOVED this game when I was a kid. I avoided family members often to play it. It terrified me and frustrated me, but I was wrapped up in the puzzles, the nigh-cyberpunk feel of it. I hooted when I saw this on the app store!

The controls are hard to, well, control, as are all games that use the directional finger swipe for movement, but I’m gonna play it anyway just to go back in time.

Thank you for putting it on the app store!!!

### 3/5 — Classic

*2022-01-18, version 1.1.2*

I used to play this when I was a kid really brought back good memories. The only issue is on the second level I am unable to access the computer to input the username and password so I can’t progress any further which is frustrating but the controls work quite well

### 3/5 — Brings back memories

*2019-04-09, version 1.1.1*

Loved this game. The port looks solid and just as I remember but the controls are basically unusable. Won’t buy full game until fixed

### 3/5 — Good game but.....

*2016-11-21, version 1.0.7*

I know this is a good game from my early pc days, but the controls on this conversion are awful, I have games with a similar control style so I know this could be fixed, I won't spend money until it is

### 2/5 — Terrible Controls

*2020-07-21, version 1.1.1*

This looks and in theory plays exactly like the original. Problem is the controls, which are on the wrong side of the screen and so unresponsive it’s unbelievable. If only they could be fixed it would probably be a decent game.
