## What is Dharma Mala?

Dharma Mala is a companion for Tibetan Buddhist (Vajrayana) practitioners.

COUNT WITHOUT EVER LOSING A COUNT
• Tap the large circle, feel each bead, a stronger pulse at every completed mala
• 21/27/54/108/111-bead malas, +1 mala, manual entry, undo
• Lock against accidental taps; keep the screen awake
• Every tap is saved instantly, so a crash or dead battery never loses your count
• A dedication of merit after each session

BACKFILL & PRACTICE DEBT
• Set a daily commitment (samaya) for each practice
• Forgot to log for a few days? The app asks. Choose "Practiced in full" or split a total across days
• Truly missed a day? The shortfall becomes practice debt, repaid automatically when you go beyond your commitment
• Pauses for illness or travel don't create debt

GOALS & STATS
• Targets of 100,000, 111,111 or any number, including counts accumulated before you used the app
• Projected finish date and the daily count needed to meet a deadline
• Streaks, an 18-week heatmap and a 30-day chart
• Presets: Ngöndro (refuge prostrations, Vajrasattva, mandala, guru yoga), Chenrezig, Green and White Tara, Medicine Buddha, Guru Rinpoche, Manjushri, Amitabha

TIBETAN CALENDAR
• Phugpa system, checked day by day from 1950 to 2100
• Omitted and doubled days, leap months, element-animal years, Rabjung cycle
• 8th, 10th, 15th, 25th, 29th and 30th days, Losar and the four great Düchen
• Daily element combinations (Earth–Earth, Water–Water…) and lunar mansions, checked against printed almanacs
• Special-day filters: how many Tsok, Dakini or new-moon days this month, and which ones
• Element day finder: tap "Water–Water" to see every upcoming one in the next 12 months (for life release and new beginnings)
• Special-day reminders

LIBRARY
• Teachings log: empowerments, transmissions, instructions, vows and retreats, with lama, date, place and samaya commitments
• Create a practice from a commitment in one tap
• Upload sadhana texts and books (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Pages, Keynote, images) and open them right from the counter
• Save empowerment and teaching videos from YouTube
• Group Zoom rooms: paste the invitation to fill in link, ID and passcode; pin to Home and join in one tap
• Face ID lock keeps it private
