### 4/5 — Great app

*2022-10-15, version 2.3*

Great app, so nice to have access to this content from my phone. The main thing it’s missing is the ability to access “private” talks using retreat codes (at least, I could not figure out how to)

### 4/5 — Super content, could use a listen later feature

*2022-03-08, version 2.1*

Thank you for this app!
It would be wonderful, and extremely useful, as others have said, if it was possible to star talks to save for later listening. Thanks for considering!

### 4/5 — Brilliant content marred by faulty tech

*2018-06-13, version 2.0*

Wonderful resource! The app worked well initially, but (about a year ago, I think it was) ever since an update it suddenly started interrupting itself a lot with the error message “this talk has stopped because of a network connection change”. I don’t get this with any of the many other apps I have, so it must be something to do with the particular interface of this one.

### 4/5 — Amazing catalog of Buddhist teachings, talks & meditations

*2018-05-31, version 2.0*

Thank you to Dharma Seed for compiling such an incredible catalog of talks & meditations.

Some functions that would be helpful would be a “favorites” section so one can easily star talks they’ve listened too. Additionally a “wishlist or listen later” section w would be great as I often am browsing through talks and see a number of them that I would like to listen to at a later point.

### 5/5 — Love!!

*2018-04-14, version 2.0*

This app is wonderful and allows me to go deeper into my practices. I am having trouble loading it lately so not able to use it.

### 5/5 — I use it everyday

*2018-03-10, version 2.0*

The cellphone can be an incredible distraction but it can also be a channel for something deeper. Dharma Seed is the best that the cellphone has to offer. I’m a meditator in the Insight tradition and being able to listen to talks, guided meditations and retreats allows me to connect deeper with the Dharma every day. This is one of the best apps ever.

### 5/5 — Would love an Android version

*2018-02-20, version 2.0*

Thanks for this wonderful app and its contents. Is an Android version forthcoming?

### 4/5 — Thanks and a request

*2017-12-22, version 2.0*

Thank you for the amazing access to talks and guided meditations.

Is there a way to download a favorite meditation so I can easily find it and listen to it offline?

### 5/5 — A great tool

*2017-12-19, version 1.6*

Really love this app.

### 5/5 — the world should consider these ideas

*2017-11-29, version 1.6*

Awesome app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Never Completes Install

*2021-02-07, version 2.1*

Have never been able to actually open the app. After installing a screen appears and starts downloading something (?) but it stalls at 90% - and goes no further. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — No load

*2019-05-28, version 2.0*

I have an iPhone 10. App will not load. The loading bar stalls half way.

### 1/5 — Great talks, rubbish app

*2018-09-11, version 2.0*

Just a bad app that makes it a terrible experience to use. The content on the other hand is invaluable. Just wish there was an easier way to get to it in the app.

### 2/5 — Lacking

*2025-03-03, version 4.0*

I’m grateful for being able to listen to talks, and If we were in 1997, I’d say this is a great app. But in 2025 you expect apps to support playlists, favorites, follow authors, transcripts and more.

### 2/5 — No longer opens

*2020-02-06, version 2.1*

Loved this ap, but it no longer opens on my iPhone. I miss it.

### 2/5 — App isn't opening at all

*2019-07-22, version 2.0*

Can't get into the app

### 3/5 — I love the app but

*2021-02-16*

The developers don’t display their privacy policy. As a privacy conscious person, I like to know how a company (or developer) handles my data. I would rate this app 5 stars if it weren’t for this.

### 3/5 — Just

*2019-12-04, version 2.1*

Needs offline mode

### 3/5 — Clunky

*2019-10-27, version 2.0*

The catalog of talks is amazing, but the search function and interface clunky and antiquated.

### 3/5 — History

*2018-04-12, version 2.0*

What happened to the tab that showed all the talks I’ve listened to?There are only two of them on the list after the update.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Can you add a favorite button or like button for the Dharma talks?

*2026-03-30, version 4.1*

Can you add a favorite button or like button for the Dharma talks?

### 5/5 — Invaluable Resource

*2023-10-04, version 3.0*

This is one of my most used apps. The library is vast and contains dharma talks by many different teachers. It would take years to listen to all the material. The recent update adds the ability to download talks which makes the app much more useful.

### 5/5 — An essential tool for anyone interested in understanding

*2022-12-09, version 2.3*

Very grateful for this jewel 😌💙🌀🙏

### 5/5 — Incredible Resource

*2022-12-01, version 2.3*

I absolutely love this app. The talks and guided meditations are essential for my morning routine. My only complaint is I would like to “favorite” and “share” talks and easily find them and share them with friends.

### 5/5 — Amazing resource

*2021-04-11, version 2.1*

So many amazing teachers and talks at our fingertips with this app.

If I could request additional features I would suggest “Playlist” tab that we could easily add talks to by clicking a “+” symbol on individual talks as we are searching and browsing.

And the ability to reorder this Playlist because not all talks show up in the app in the order they were delivered. Such as when one teacher delivered five talks about the 5 Aggregates but it was over the course of several weeks and the talks aren’t labeled the same but can still be found with persistent searching.

It would also be great to be able to click on the retreat itself and see all of the talks for that retreat even by different teachers.

A default set of talks for the complete beginner would be great too. Also the app could include direct ways to contribute dana.

Thanks for considering and for making these available.

### 5/5 — The Best Meditation/Dharma App by Far

*2021-01-06, version 2.1*

The perfect meditation and dharma talk app. Free. Site uses open-source software. Talks are available via RSS, MP3, this app for iOS and Android. Creative Commons licensed so you can share these talks and spread the good word about Dharma Seed. Multitude of teachers and retreats. Updated DAILY. This is so game-changing and I can’t believe I only found it now! So, so much better than paid services like Headspace or Yoga Studio which don’t go as deep or have the history or knowledge as these teachers do. Donate to Dharma Seed if you love it too! It’s so special.

### 5/5 — Unable to complete App download

*2020-11-11, version 2.1*

Not sure how to get in touch with the DS developer but I am unable to download the App. Loving the breadth of material on your website and looking forward to the ease of navigation using the App.

### 5/5 — Amazing talks offered freely

*2020-09-06, version 2.1*

So much wisdom for our time. Dharma seed has been offering talks freely for years. Grateful to them.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-06-28, version 2.1*

It’s wonderful to have access to DharmaSeed’s wealth of teachings through this app. It would be brilliant to be able to download talks, and possibly also to follow teachers and receive notifications when they release new talks. But great so far, thank you!

### 5/5 — Unlock your mind’s potential

*2018-09-12, version 2.0*

So wise. So healing. Therapy for the mind and heart...opens doors to inner freedom...
