Nowhere to hide with this app

**Developer response:** Hi Alan, we're sorry you're feeling that way. All the questions we ask are meant to personalize the app based on your needs. Your data isn't sold or shared for advertising (see our privacy policy). Please reach out to us at contact@gococo.app if you need any help, we always reply to our users.

### 1/5 — Way too many subscription requests

*2026-07-27*

I really can’t say much about the app itself because I couldn’t get past the repeated enticements to subscribe to a paid platform. I’m not one to jump through multiple pages of required pages wanting to get me to upgrade just to use the free platform. After I got through the first time I thought it was over, but it continued to require me to tap through pages on the second use just to attempt to use it. I immediately deleted it and unsubscribed from their email list.

**Developer response:** Hi, I'm very sorry to hear this. If you see an upgrade offer in the app, just close it, you're all set. Please reach out to us at contact@gococo.app for any questions or help you may need getting started.

### 1/5 — Free

*2026-07-22, version 2.68.0*

This is not a free app like it advertises

### 3/5 — Warning

*2026-07-21*

I did the trial but got no warning to cancel and it took the money still thought I had a couple of days left looks ok

**Developer response:** Hi, I'm very sorry to hear this. As you started a 7-day free trial you were charged after 7 days - you should have received an email reminder 2 days before. Please reach out to us at contact@gococo.app so we can sort it out, and walk you through a refund if that's what you would like !

### 1/5 — Scan

*2026-07-19, version 2.67.1*

The food I had on my plate was not the food that showed up on the scan

### 2/5 — Didn’t try it

*2026-07-18, version 2.67.1*

I personally will not install any app that requires subscription. I would definitely purchase the app for a one time payment but I won’t subscribe. I can’t stand the subscription model and I refuse to participate in it.

### 2/5 — This is not a diabetes food tracker

*2026-07-17, version 2.67.1*

This is a weightloss app. I want to track glycemic index and couldn’t access the app without giving my age, weight, gender, etc.

### 2/5 — Help

*2026-07-14, version 2.67.1*

This app is so frustrating. I enter breakfast fine. Then, when I want to enter Lunch, it calls IT breakfast. 😡

### 1/5 — A great idea that is not ready

*2026-07-11*

I thought this app would help me with type1 diabetes management and weight loss but it fals far short of what it could do. The database is not ready for the UK and it is too USA centric for British or indeed European users. It would not recognise a meal I had pictured and for all its good intentions is not fit for purpose yet.

**Developer response:** Hi, I'm very sorry to hear this. Please reach out to us at contact@gococo.app with any details you can share about the incomplete database.

### 3/5 — Condescending

*2026-07-10*

Useful for getting some idea of what you’re eating and whether it’s ultra processed. Doesn’t recognise most of the food I eat and have to put it all in manually.
Very difficult to set in “my foods” for things you eat regularly (managed it once but can’t repeat that trick!)
However, the most annoying part of the app is just how condescending it is. You could eat the perfect meal and it would still find something to berate you for. As an example, I had baked beans, and the comment was “next time swap them for low sugar variety” - they were! Eating slices of whole meal bread, “nice slice of wholemeal bread, next time swap it for the wholemeal variety”. Just get fed up with being moaned at with every single meal. Even eating some fruit, “next time have some nuts” - this app makes me want to just go to eating junk food and not worry about my health.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for this detailed feedback, it helps a lot. We're sorry to hear that the app seems condescending, it is not what it is meant to be ! Please reach out to us at contact@gococo.app so we can discuss your feedback. We would also be more than happy to help you get a refund and assist with anything else we can.
